I love the book more. A deeper more intimate view of the characters. The story is intriguing and unique. Four viewpoints alternating masterfully makes the space opera/dystopian novel truly amazing.

Fantastic read that ends with a huge plot twist! If you've seen the tv show then don't let that stop you from reading. The plot line was totally different and it was super cool to learn more in depth of your favourite characters. Would defiantly recommend.

After watching the first season of the TV show, I thought I would already know where this book was going and how it would get there. However, and as always, the book is very different from the show and although they are different, I enjoyed them both, albeit for different reasons. The book gives much more insight to life on the ship which I found helpful in explaining some of the characters' actions both in the book and show. I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about the post-apocalyptic world Kass Morgan created.

The only reason I am reading the books is because I am a huge fan of the show. The book is slow and lacks depth in areas. It is very predictable at times. I still enjoy the plot and characters. I also thoroughly enjoy how Kass Morgan uses flashbacks to give readers more insight into the characters.

Great Book. Very entertaining. Quick and easy read. The TV series doesn't follow the book faithfully, but the essence is true to the story. This makes it more interesting to me to both read the book and watch the series. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I originally bought this book after watching the television series on the CW, and while i love the show the book does not follow it at all. The characters are different, the story-line is different, and quite frankly it is not written that well. I was disappointed in the quality of this book and am amazed that CW was able to turn it around. I fully recommend the show, but don't waste the money on the book.

Honestly, the characters are more engaging on the show, and the changes to the characters, the world, and the plot made by the CW seem to enhance it. The book is little more than a dystopian-themed teen romance novel. The show is much more than that. For a YA book, it's a pleasant read and I will read the sequel, but it's surprisingly flat compared to the depth of the show.

I agree with other reviewers that said this story works for a TV series better than for a book, even odder, judging by the previews for the show one character that is dead in the book is alive in the TV show. Why was this book even released? Multiple viewpoints slowed down the pace and led to clunky storytelling. The ending felt more like a chapter break than an actual end of the story.

This book was really well written it gave great insight to the characters and was very entertaining however I feel that there was not much suspense and although interesting things happened in the book it was not particularly eventful.

I was expecting something similar to the show on the CW, but was pressed with something else entirely. That was fine at first, until I continued reading and found no riveting plot or dynamic characters. It's all kind of poorly written. Especially the characters. That said, I still plan on reading the rest of the series (because I'm a closure freak).

I've loved the television version of The 100 ever since it premiered. Finally decided to read the books. Enjoyed how different the book was including all the new characters. Can't wait to read book number two!

Love this series.
I am reading them after having binge-watched the first 2 seasons of the CW show on Netflix.
Wish the show included the Glass storyline as I think it is very emotionally gripping & sad/painful while being hopeful at the same time.
Bellamy's original storyline so far is MUCH more descriptive of his reasons for being so protective of Octavia. The broken/damaged/terrified aspect of their mother explains their relationship much more fully & adds a lot of depth to both characters.
Clarke's lab discovery is heartbreaking & uncomfotable & probably too horrible for TV entertainment so I get not including this one, but it does lend a hand in understanding Clarke's internal struggle, almost self-loathing.
If you like the show you'll be sucked right onto the books. The character development is so much better.

Some very cheesy teenage romance u have to sift through, but the main story and twist kept me reading. From the gasps and shock I went through reading I can say it's almost as good as the show so far.

Great book, I actually watched the show before ever knowing there was a book. I like that even though the two are almost completely different, there are notes of similarities, which has kept me engaged in reading The 100.

I would highly recommend to read the book before you watch the series. I watched the series first & loved it. I found the book & the series had nothing to do with each other in parts. Which made it confusing at times. It was written well & has a great story line to it.

I started watching the tv show and was immediately hooked so I decided to give the book a try. I have to admit that I enjoyed this book even though it was very different from the show. I like the characters and how you get a view from more then just one character. I cant wait to dive into the second book to see how things play out for the 100.

I'm absolutely in love with all the main characters, some more then others. It's a easy read and I didn't get bored at all. Only thing I wish it didn't end with a many huge cliffhangers! Seriously I understand you have to have a dramatic ending and have the need to read the next book, but holy crap!!!! I'm really looking forward to next one! :)

This was really engaging! I missed the tv show and usually enjoy the books better anyway. The idea of a return to earth after a cataclysm is frightening at best. The author did a great job. I can't wait for more.

I read this after viewing the season premier; then, of course, I had to compare it to the book. I also pre-ordered the next book. Oh, I liked the book better than the TV version. I'm still going to watch the TV series.

The book was a little more juvenile than I expected it to be after watching the show and admiring it for the intelligence in character development. For what it was, it was well-written, but left more to be desired.

Wanted to see what the books are like after watching the TV show. Lots of changes but enjoyed the backstory. Not as good as the show. Surprised they only got to a certain point in the story by the end of book one.
