I suggest reading the first book in order to know the full extent of the story. "Ice Barbarians." In this book of the series, Tiffany has had to go through a long period of dealing with a traumatic event that happened to her in the first book.
Now this book ... Three of the tribe members have been trying to get her attention and woo her but she wanted none of it. One other tribal stud has treated her with patience & kindness & friendliness which makes her feel comfortable. Although you suspect how this will end for the pair you still have to read to find out exactly how everything happens so it's still so much fun. All the while there is one human girl left who is not coupled with anyone so it brings her more into the story. Pretty sure I know who her mate will be but how what happens will be interesting so I'm going to read the next book called Barbarians Mate.
This book is full of adventure, different languages, weird creatures, Stone Age living with a hint of sci-fi. Start from the first book and you will not be disappointed. Tiffany and her mate have the hottest love scene yet!

I have enjoyed the other books in this series, was totally excited when this one came out. Yet I am struggling to finish this offering. I've barely managed 41%. It's boring, slow, the alien world is hohum to the heroine. Other couples and the daily challenge just to survive barely impact on the heroine's awareness - at least seriously. She is very self-absorbed. She has learned many survival skills, but those are to benefit only herself when she plans to run away. Josie was also raped by the bad aliens and can't get rid of her IUD so she'll resonate and get a HEA? Jeez, she's irritating, our heroine thinks. The whole "being pursued by single blue aliens" terrifies Tiffany but she doesn't recognize the hero alien has been stalking her for 1 1/2 years? The hero so far in my reading is apparently a psychiatric trauma treatment genius as he flawlessly handles Tiffany's PTSD and manipulates her into close encounters of the sexual kind. Anyway, I will gladly read more stories in this series. This one I will dedicate myself to trying ten pages a day just to get through it.

Ok. Let's just start off with this AMAZING cover! Can I just say this is the best cover yet!!!! Now to the book. My honest opinion is this book while wonderful was a bit heavier in feel than the others to me. It dealt with more serious issues than we are used to seeing. Usually Ruby's books are lighter and funnier than this one seemed to be. Having said that I still totally devoured this one just like all the rest. I love anything by this author and this one was no exception. The sexy times we're hot like we've come to expect. But getting there was a rough road for these two. I was so glad when they finally made it though! I absolutely can not wait for Josie's story. Just hoping it won't take too long! Great writing Ruby! You could write me the phonebook staring blue aliens and I'd read it!!!!

I have read several books in this series and have enjoyed them so thoroughly that I felt the need to go back and give them a review. I waited to review them assuming they would become formulaic and therefore not worth my time. However, I have been pleasantly surprised that each book, while having some recurring themes which are necessary for a series, has been an exciting adventure. This is the first sci-fi romantic series that I have really gotten into and now I understand the concept of "world building". Each book has the hook up between characters that one expects in a romance novel that are sexy and passionate and are enough to make a good story . But the way the author then adds new layers to the alien world whether it be flora, fauna, or other insights make this series absolutely fabulous. Add to that an overall well written and edited story and you've got a great set of books. Well done Ruby!

I feel for Tiffany. I have also had to overcome what she is to overcome. It is difficult to relearn that sex is to be a pleasure. That sex is not used as a power trip or something to do to hurt someone. But once you can learn just like Tiffany does that love and sex can coexist then life can go back to the way it should be. To have a patient man is one of the best things that a woman in this predicament can have.

Because I have grown through my past, I was able to enjoy this book. Some that have not gotten through this will NOT be able to read this book. But it is a great read and I hope some of you that have this in your past can read this. It just might give you hope, and help you heal just a little bit. You can heal along with Tiffany.

This is probably my least favorite book in the series, not because Tiffany was suffering from being raped by their alien kidnappers, but because of the redundant writing that makes up the last half of the book. Tiffany is being courted by four sa-khui who's attention she does not want. It terrifies her that she will resonance with another sa-khui and then have to mate with him. She can't even stand to be touched and she is afraid of angering any male by refusing their advances, which I personally couldn't understand. If I was terrified of men, I'd lash out at them so they would leave me alone. She says she doesn't want to anger any potential life mate, but I wanted her to have more of a backbone. She can't even declare Salukh is who she is interested in. Salukh has been attracted to Tiffany since he met her, but instead of throwing himself at her, he is considerate of her feelings and let's her take the lead in their interactions. Tiffany sees him as a friend and doesn't feel threatened by him. The last half of the book is both of them getting more and more intimate with each other. Been there and read the same sex acts in previous books which I found redundant and disappointing in the lack of a plot. This book sets up the next book in this series which will keep me reading.

Oh, I like these big, blue aliens. They're fierce and protective and they have that whole running around without a lot of clothes on in the snow going for them. Which is nice. Very nice.

This time around, we get Tiffany and Salukh's sexy romance. Tiffany has a fair amount of baggage she needs to unload and Salukh is just the big, blue guy to help her with it. Honestly, I got where Tiffany was coming from with her fears because what she experienced was pretty horrific, but I had a hard time wrapping my head around why she didn't tell anybody what had happened. Considering the circumstances all the women were in, I'm pretty sure they would have supported her and helped her deal with her fears.

Buuuuut...it did put her and Salukh in close contact so I can't really complain, can I?

Loved loved loved how patient and understanding Salukh was. I liked his unwavering belief that Tiffany was his, their khui just hadn't figured it out yet. *draws sparkly hearts around him*

This series continues to entertain and I couldn't be happier.

Another fun resonance among the females. I do want to warn anyone with issues around rape or sexual abuse that (sorry if this spoils but I feel the warning is important) Tiffany is traumatized by past rape on the alien ship. I thought that this issue was handled well. In past books we've seen how Tiffany has been plagued by suitors and now we see that she dreads resonating because of her painful experiences. I like the fact that we've never seen Saluhk before and don't have any preconceived ideas about him. Their roundabout courtship and Saluhk's tenderness were really touching. While it took a while to get there, the sex was as steamy as usual for this series. Dixon continues to make sure that the sex is fresh with each couple--something new with one while keeping the old standbys (wow those ridged tongues!). There was less humor in this book than some of the earlier ones (especially the first book). Adding Josie's perspective of being so eager to get her own resonance and some of her background is great for setting us up for the next story. I'm just sorry that (unless we fast forward to the next generation) we'll soon be done with this great series!

I was really surprised after reading some of the negative comments on this book. Most people were stating that rape has no place in a romance novel and that it's a squicky topic. However, rape is a real thing and can happen to anyone. I think I started this series with the intention of it just being erotica. But this series is full of adventure and fun and is way more than just amazing sex scenes. Quite frankly, I'm surprised that more of the women weren't raped by the orange aliens. However, I think the author does a great job of being sensitive and understanding of how a woman in Tiffany's position would feel and act.

While I appreciate that the author didn't make the h magically recover from her traumatic ordeal, it took too long for the actual relationship to develop because of it. The h was afraid for 80% of the story and rejected the H by not speaking up! I want to applaud the author for letting the h take her time to recover but I also stopped quite a few times during this book because I became annoyed! The H was a sweetheart though and I actually liked the series so I'm going on to the next

Love this book...love this series! Tiffany is a great character...took her some time to come around but her Barbarian stuck with it and gave her what she needed! Loved it! Stumbled across the series month's ago looking for something different to read...now...I have read every book and cannot wait for Josie's story! Keep up the good work Ruby!

I loved Tiffany and Salukh's love story its awesome how patient he is with her because he wants to know her as a person its beautiful my only grip clearly Tiff is black with curl hair and the women on the cover is not, come on people let's be consistent even a mixed girl with curly hair and darker skin would have worked. Her skin is one of the things that drove the guys mad that beautiful brown skin.

This was a very touching, sweet love story. After being raped by aliens before crash landing on the ice planet, Tiffany is gun shy around men. The ice planet barbarians all want mates and compete for her attention. But Salukh--who recognizes her as his mate--gives her the space she needs. I really enjoyed this story.

Absolutely loved this story! Seemed like we all waited forever, lol. It was a great read. Tiffany's story was pretty interesting. I feel bad that she felt hounded by the men pursuing her. I'm glad her mate wasn't one of those 4, instead he respected her and tried to get to know her. Looking forward to Josie's story. I feel bad that her mate and her seem to not like each other. I imagine it will be an interesting story!!! I hope her story isn't going to be the last of this series, I really enjoy it.

This was my least favorite of the series. I understood that the heroine had been raped but the flashbacks were terrifying enough to reduce my enjoyment of the story. The H is awesome and is very patient but the whole book is a tease to the reader.

Sakhul is so sweet, so confident that Tiffany (or as he says it, Tee-fah-nee) is his mate but their khui, or as the humans say, cootie, have not resonated. Will his khui ever make up its mind? Or will he have to fight every other single male for the right to what he knows in his heart is his? Loved this story!

Surviving abduction, attack and rescue has been harder on some of the human women than others. Some have emotional scars to heal. One of the native males is sure of who to give his heart to and he challenges the others.

I really enjoyed this. After reading the others in the series, I came to a few spots where I was sure I knew what was going to happen next and was pleasantly surprised when something else happened. Enjoying the entire series, this book as well.

No phoning it in here. Ruby Dixon keeps churning out good stories and original characters in her Ice Planet Barbarians books. Each couple has their own personalities and quirks. I just have to find out how they get to their happily ever after!

Past experiences affect everyday life. This story show daily life and how to handle things. Romance and love can over come rape and baggage of past experiences. Communication and patience go a point way.

Ruby writes some great SciFi with a "girl twist". I like all her flawed characters and myriad topics. Another one down. I read the last two in the wrong order, my bad. Looking forward to a lot more of this series.

I was not as excited about Tiffany's book, assuming that it would go a certain way, but honestly Ruby turned it into something wonderful. This series keeps on going, in such a good way! Cannot wait for the next book in this series, the suspense is almost killing me!

I really like all these books. It appears as though there is just one more story left after this one (only one unmated female left). I hope that's not the case and the author comes up with more characters and story lines for this series.

Salukh is great at showing how the barbarians value females and can control their baser instincts. Tiffany brings a bit of diversity and a spirit of healing to these stories. It is great to have an episode where formerly side characters develop and the “cootie” isn’t the focus of the relationship.

How much practicing can one girl take. The blue barbarians are getting quite clever in dealing with the human women. This book made me cry, laugh, and especially jealous that I don't have a seven foot tall, horned, blue alien with a tail trying to win Me in a Miss America contest. Now you have to read it to figure that out.

Another great read in the story of the women stranded on the ice planet. Tiffany had some serious issues to overcome in this short story, but I guess if you believe in the age old adage that love conquers all, then you will enjoy this story.
