I loved this series and this book especially. It was lengthy and juicy. I recently became aware of Ruby and fell in love with the furry blue guys. This story was about a shy woman who's used to her sister taking charge for her because of her disability. Her hero doesn't realize she likes him and they both end up with some major sexual frustration because of their lack in communication. The hero is the perfect guy for Lila because he's caring, sensitive and also a big ol' virgin! The sexual frustration between these two is comical at times and utter frustrating at others. I could have read another few hundred pages and as always I was sad I had to say goodbye at the end. I did enjoy getting updates on the other characters in this book and I can't wait for the next book about Lila's sister, the feisty Maddy. A must read series where each book is a five star read!! Why oh why didn't I find Ruby sooner?!?! Only problem is waiting two months for her next release!!

This book really captured my heart for Rokan and Lila . For readers new to this series, the big blue horned guys with the tail are called Sa-khui who's ancestors crashed on the Ice Planet almost 300 years ago. The human women were kidnapped by other aliens and crashed on the same Ice Planet. The Sakiu are slowly dying out and have very few women of their own species. They have lost their ancestors' knowledge of technology and have reverted to a stone age existence. When they find the human women they discover that they are compatible mates. They all need a symbiont called a Khui to survive the poisonious atmosphere and cold. It makes them heal faster, stay warmer and find their true mates (Resonance). In a previous book a few more human women were discovered in another crashed ship in stasis and the Sakiu party was sent out to retrive them. Maddie and Lila are sisters who are awakened and Lila happens to be deaf. All her life she has hidden behind her sister and used her as her protector. After Hassen steals her away in hopes of her resonancing to him, she finds her inner strength to take charge of her situation. She realizes that she is on an alien planet and she wants to learn what it takes to survive in case Rokan isn't there. She gains acceptance, love and independence on this planet which is what she didn't have back on Earth. What I really like in this book is that Rokan and her are true mates, but the author takes the time for them to work together and get to know each other showing great restraint instead of them just having sex after meeting. With Lila being deaf, it takes a special effort between them to communicate with each other. I liked this book so much that even though I read it free, I bought it when I was done.

Man, I like these big, blue aliens and the ladies they resonate with. No joke, this series gives me all my favorite things rolled into a big ball of deliciousness. Gentle giants who will fight for their special lady friend if needed? CHECK. Snowy landscape where two people are forced into tight quarters and must cuddle up to conserve body heat? CHECK! Strong, adaptable women who rise to whatever challenge they're presented with? CHECK!
Basically, Lila and Rokan were another adorable couple who made me cheer. I adored Rokan's steadiness. Like, the guy was determined to wait until he resonated before heating up the furs with a lady. Given the lack of eligible females prior to the humans arriving, he'd pretty much resigned himself to never doing the deed. And he was okay with that. *draws sparkly hearts around Rokan*
And Lila. I liked that she made a conscious decision to step out of her comfort zone and be brave. *thumbs up*
Poor Maddie actually ended up getting shafted this book. She spent the book worried about her sister and then was forced to face the reality that Lila could very much take care of herself. Good thing she's getting her book next. For all her abrasive personality, I felt for her.
Then there's the whole yeti thing. I just... *flails* This series makes me SO HAPPY. So happy.

I have loved this series and I am slowly savoring it because I don't want it to end too fast, and this was another awesome installment!
One of the newest humans is Lila and I loved her!! She had a disability and it really worked for her story and the Evolution of the plotline.
Rokan was totally macho. He wants the type to just take, he worked his charm and slowly won the heroine over. Totally perfect in my eyes.
The plot was different then the others because the heroine has a disability, but I loved it. I loved seeing every every make her feel like she has a place and loved seeing her determination for not giving up even though she can't hear.
Overall i loved it! I can't wait until we get Maddies book and see her find her mate and he attitude change. The author can make this series stretch out but every book feel so different then the last. I truly can't wait to see where she goes from here. 4 stars #2OCCJD

No spoilers review. Read using Kindle Unlimited.
I loved this book even more than the others. The romance is so touching, yet still steamy. I like how slow it goes so they really discover each other. And, the new things they find out about the planet - cool! There were a couple of blue handfuls ;) of typos, many of which could have been fixed by simply running a spelling and grammar check. I know the author was in a hurry, but that's super easy and usually a given as the final check. As you can see though, the story was strong enough that the typos didn't matter much.
I just can't get enough of the Ice Barbarians, their women and the interesting alien world. Thank you Ruby Dixon!
If you like this series, you should check out the Emerging Queens series by Jamie K. Schmidt. It is a vibrant and sexy Dragon shifter trilogy. These two series are my favorites out of the *many* romance series I have read.

This is a wonderful, sweet love story. When the tribe unmated hunters goes to rescue the last human girls from the crashed spaceship, Lila is the one kidnaped by Hassen who is desperate to find a mate. Lila's hearing device was removed by the green aliens and now she cannot hear at all. So when finnaly, her and her sister, Maddie are rescued, here is this big blue barbarian, trying to get in her pants. But there is no chemistry there at all.
Rukan is the one who goes after them and rescues Lila from Hassen and a big one-eye yetti. Their attraction is instant and they resonate right away. It is a sweet story of love and acceptance. Lila is not seen as having an handicap but in Rukan's eyes and heart, she is perfect.

Couldn't put this book down either!!!! Rush home from work...read. slap pizza in...read. I loved the addition of a handicapped person....the spin of a wanted resonance that didn't happen, and the added tropical cave. And what about that friendly Metlik? Seems like there are many ways for this series to continue in slightly different directions, yet all be linked together. I can only hope that this series continues and continues. I did like this longer book though. It kept me turning page after page. The intimacy was awesome as usual, building to a huge climax at the end. Felt like it was me! So what will happen to Mah-dee? I can't wait to find out!

Lila creates an interesting piece to this series. Her and her sister are just woken up from the crashed ship. Tbey are the last chance for the bachelor males to find a mate. Lila is deaf since the aliens took out her implant. Causes a lot of challenges for her since the planet is dangerous when you can't hear predators. It doesn't help that Hassen decides to be selfish and kidnap her. My favorite part is Rokan. I would have liked to see more emphasis on his sixth sense, but he is a very interesting and sweet male. Lila got lucky. I am interested to see how things work out for Maddie, Lila's sister. She is pretty unhappy and lonely.

Rokan and Lika have quite a learning barrier between them. Being different species isn't the only thing that might hold them back from learning how to communicate. But Rokan refuses to let a little thing like a language barrier keep him from his mate.
Love the story and while I felt sorry for some of the characters one in particular, Lila's sister really just tweaked my nerves. While I understand that she's used to being Lila's barrier against the world, I would've expected she would've been happier for her sister to finally feel like she fits in someplace. Someone needs to pour the girls Haterade.

This story had a few twists and thoughtful handling of more than one difficult subject. Xenophobia, sentience, survival, bullying and the right to choose your own destiny. Ms. Dixon's engaging style still delivered a riveting adventure, but this installment was deeper than its predecessors and multi layered. Are the Metlak's sentient? How many races inhabit the Ice Planet? Is it even actually an Ice Planet or did our heroines crash on its version of Antarctica ? Do even small differences become insurmountable Xenophobia when cultures collide? Or can brains and compassion overcome. Read and find out...

I mean really......I'm seriously going through withdrawals!!! I'm not big on spoilers, I'll leave that to the others. I purchased 2 then decided to do kindle unlimited for the rest. It was worth every penny. I still have more than 2 weeks left and have no clue what I'm going to do. I just couldn't put it down...I was reading at work, in the grocery line, and bathtub. With this latest installment, I tried to get some sleep but the characters invaded my dreams. It's terrible...I know. I really feel like I should be able to move on but I must confess that I'm totally hooked!!!!! Oh, I love that Maddie's a full-figured gal! Well, just wanted to give my two-cents for whatever it's worth. I'm off to start the short stories, although I'm certain it's not gonna hold me long. I'll be feigning in another couple of days. Thanks Ruby!

This entire series is phenomenal. I loved reading every single book so far. Having said that, this is my favorite book so far. The characters are always complex and well developed and the world building is fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the ingenuity of the heroine and the steadfast dedication of her male. He should learn to go with his gut though, cause bad things happen when he doesn't listen to his inner voice. I really liked that the entire tribe was so open and welcoming to this female and didn't view her uniqueness as a barrier to be overcome, but rather just a part of what made her who she was. It was a refreshing change.

As usual The book ended way too fast. Please understand, it has nothing to do with the size of the book. It has to do with the fact that this series of books are so entertaining, I get so engrossed in the context that it ends to quickly. As usual this book has an exciting cliffhanger, which leaves me excited for the next book. We need to figure out a way to crash land more humans on the planet so the series can continue. If you like sexy alpha aliens, Romance and some steamy scenes thrown in, then I suggest you start at book one and continue your way through to the very last of these books... You will not be disappointed!!!

It was disappointed to me. Nothing different from the others. It really gets old the fact they have to wait a lot for the woman to accept the concept of resonance and act on it and the man acting all stoic. The same kidnapping etc.. I won't get the next book, I'm sure is going to be like the other one that didn't like each other. How exciting not..

For some reason, I am hooked on this series....and I'm not a sci fi fan. It can be predictable at times but it is still worth the read. This book was a bit different bc the h was deaf and it was a story about her growing independence and strength, as well as the romance betw her and the big blue alien. The characters don't come together until the very end but it is so worth it! The next book is about Maddie.....I'm not a fan of hers...but I have the book on my TBR list so hopefully she comes off a bit less harsh in her own book.

"Know that you have my heart" - my god, Rokan kind of made me melt regardless of how effing cold the ice planet is. He was so understanding and gentle and even though the human ways are confusing to our barbarians, this one went the extra mile and tried his best to learn ASL just to be able to talk to his mate. Ugh. I love him. And Lila! She came such a long way since she was found! She became an independent bad-asx. So much love for this one!

This book was fantastic!!! I can not express how much I loved how strong this character is. She grew into a very strong character. In the beginning she was so scared and honestly I can't blame her. I look forward to reading Maddies story! Sadly the end of summer is too far away lol. Ruby Dixon is awesome. I love this series! I hope the series continues for a lot longer than the next 2 books. I am curious if the yeti creature will be brought up again. Maybe those creatures are not as cruel ans nasty as we originally thought?

I really liked this book! This book is about trust and learning. Lila goes through so much, I feel so bad for her. I am glad that rowdan is her mate.truly a great story. I can't wait until maddies story and how she will feel after she finds out her mate is no other than hassen .. The one that takes her sister in the beginning of this story . I really hope that asha gets her happily ever after too.

I love the way this author writes amazing stories that somehow doesn't seem unbelievable despite it being science fiction.
If you haven't read any of the previous books I'd suggest you start from the beginning otherwise it would be hard to get a grip on all the characters.
But nevertheless I'd definitely recommend this book to any alien aficionados out there!

Disoriented, deaf and kidnapped by other aliens than the blue ones that rescued you is just to much in the first hours of waking up in a cold wet cargo bay. Struggles to communicate, understand a different culture and different looking people make for interesting catches in this story. Nice to hear what's happening to previous characters as Lila and Rokan develops the relationship.

I have read all the barbarian books and really enjoyed them. I have kindle unlimited so I can read them for free but I buy every one bc I have favorites that I go back and read when I need to relax. The books move right along and are entertaining from beginning to end. I guess the whole handsome hero who thinks his mate twirls the world is addictive. I'm aware they're fantasy but wow what a good fantasy.

Ruby Dixon is the best author ever because her books in this series are consistently awesome. The plots flow together seamlessly one into the next and it's fun seeing what these big blue aliens will do to get their girl. Or rather how the women react to their sweetness and love once they get past the males' tough exteriors. While not giving anything major about the plot for this book away, I like how Lila grows as she encounters each situation she's thrust into despite her disability. It's interesting to read. And Rokan is such a sweetheart, patiently teaching her what she needs to know to survive on this hostile, frozen planet while suppressing his growing resonance for her at the same time. I love it all and can't wait to see what Ms. Dixon has in store for Maddie's story coming up next!

It was a beautiful romantic erotic book full of adventure and mystery as far as to what will come next. I loved the new discoveries that were found and how well the characters came out. I can't say more because I will spoil it but I really recommend this to all who love aliens.

Lilah and Rokan - just when I thought this series has to be wrapping up, Ms. Dixon manages to bring in a couple more women for the fun and to my surprise, it did work. I liked having a hearing impaired heroine and Rokan is a perfect fit among the blue hotness. Just different enough to keep things interesting, so this was another enjoyable entry.

The wimpy, fragile, hearing impaired woman takes on a whole new world. Kidnapped not once but twice and rescued by Rokan she starts to learn and thrive to make sure she can survive. The patience and interest Roman shows lilah makes her resonance sing even harder.

It does not matter which character on the ICE PLANET Ruby chooses to write about, they are always an Awesome read. I will be devastated when she runs out. Mabey more ships will crash and she can keep this up a good long while. Hell I wanna big blue ALIEN for myself. LOL

This book will stand alone, but I recommend you start at the beginning and read from the very first crash on planet not-hoth which both saves and forever strands our Earth girls. That said this lengthy romance is every bit as delightful as I wanted it to be.

I only recently discovered Ruby Dixon, but I'm impressed. I'm flying through this series because I love the Ice Planet stories. Such wonderful characters and it feels so happy to read each live story.
Please RateA SciFi Alien Romance (Ice Planet Barbarians Book 8)
I almost skipped this one--this series tends to play casually with rape as a background element and I'm not into that--and this cover seemed rapier than usual to me. I'm glad I didn't skip it though, because it's actually more consent-focused than any of the others up to this point, imo. I love that the heroine had so much agency in the romance and the hero seeks an enthusiastic yes. This volume also enjoys more world-building than normal and you can see that writing all these books in such quick succession is improving the author's mastery of her craft.
Which is why I'm scratching my head as to why with this cover where the heroine looks passed out and the hero looks like a creeper (and at first I thought "Oh, he must be Hassen" but the author says in the comments at the back that it's supposed to be the hero and I'm like: WHAAAAT).
I started with BARBARIAN'S RESCUE because this series sits comfortably in the top 100 SFR in Unlimited and I wanted to know why and THAT cover says "consent" like whoa. Given this series' success I hope this older volume has justified the expense of a new cover. One which accurately portrays its contents and has a chance to attract the readers like me who at present might not realise that they actually want to read this book--LIKE A LOT.
