A solid motivational read. Im a self employed consultant that works from home. The stories were motivating and served as a boost before i started my day. However nothing particularly outstanding and lifechanging in this book for me. That is this book is filled with very common sense advice. Also several editing issues (a quote incorrectly attributed to Nelson Mandela) and i found it interesting that thr author made a point to identify the race of black women she interviewed (no other races were identified). The author also makes a point to say "kids from the ghetto' in the section on giving back. What I perceived to be another attempt at a racial marker (i.e. these 6 figute white women have been giving to the poor little black kids).

How is it that some women are such high earners? I've often reflected that I already work hard and I can't imagine working yet even harder in order to reach a six-figure income. However, high-earning women don't necessarily work harder (at some point you just get worn out), they work smarter. This book dispels that myth and a number of others surrounding high earning women. The author uses information she has gathered through interviews and research to unveil how some women are able to earn high salaries. I had several "ah-ha!" moments reading this book and learned some new strategies to do things differently in order to achieve a higher level of success. This was definitely a book I can use and was fun to read. (I had difficulty putting the book down!)
I would definitely recommend this book to any woman who wants to earn more money. However, I would also advise readers to read this in conjunction with a book on personal finance (perhaps one specifically for women, like Lois Frankels's Nice Girls Don't Get Rich: 75 Avoidable Mistakes Women Make with Money). One disappointing finding from this book is that many high-earning women are not good savers. Don't be one of them - learn to earn and learn to invest in your future as well!

Why are women still underpaid? Does self-esteem and earning six-figures go hand-in-hand? Do women place financial limits on themselves? With insight and practical real-world guidance Barbara Stanny helps us discover our inner six-figure woman. Are you ready to find the answers?
My copy of Secrets of Six-Figure Women is dog-eared, underlined, written in the margins and covered with sticky notes. I've used it in the question and answer portion of my seminars and have recommended it as a group read for leaders. Let me ask you: Are you earning and saving for the lifestyle you want to be consistently living and enjoying?
I believe one of the most important exercises in this book is the value-clarification exercise. I've learned from my own personal experiences that I will not succeed at anything that goes against my true core values. Your values fuel your motivation to succeed and earn. It's well worth taking the time to work and study the results of this activity.
Do you think that living the lifestyle of your choice, making the money you deserve and enjoying life is based on something deeper than just making money? Isn't it really about feeling worthy and deserving of making six figures? Isn't it about making money while nurturing healthy self-esteem?
Earning six-figures has nothing to do with age, education or luck. It does have everything to do with your desire to live a healthy, happy and financially satisfying life. Are you ready to earn your six-figure (and even seven-figure) income? Are you ready to stop underearning and to begin living up to your full earning potential?
I highly recommend Secrets of Six-Figure Women. I've personally seen it become a life changing eye opener for women who are tired of surviving and are ready to begin thriving in their financial life.

I read this book to find inspiration to achieve my financial goals. I found the strategies for success offered by Ms. Stanny coupled with the experience from women who were interviewed throughout the book offered me the opportunity to apply the lessons in relatively a short amount of time. I agree that taking a leap of faith is challenging, but there is support all around you.

This book really highlights the psychological barriers we face when dealing with money. As a woman first, this was very intriguing and insightful. The mentalities and lifestyles showcased from under earners to high earners are well depicted. Very relatable, and eye opening. I can’t stop recommending this book.

This books talks about my view of money that started in my childhood. An under achievers mindset. Now I know how to turn that mindset around into a high earners mindset. I will be implementing the seven steps in the book to become a woman of wealth and power.

I would recommend that every working woman read this book. Great tips on how to achieve more wealth and not at the expense of being true to yourself. Very thought provoking as well. Bravo to women encouraging other women instead of tearing them down.

In Secrets of Six-Figure Women, Stanny takes you through a process of recognizing why so many women underearn and what we can do to earn what we are worth. From dealing with our fears about stepping out of our comfort zone and challenging longstanding beliefs to helping readers learn to develop a profit motive, this book will help you position yourself to prosper mentally, emotionally and physically.
On a personal note - as a female business owner, whenever I'm tempted to undercharge for my services or allow fear to impact my decisions, I re-read "Secrets of Six Figure Women," to help me stay on the six figure track and remind myself that I'm worth it.

Read this book women. After reading Overcoming Underearning, I wanted to read Barbara's book. This book is even better than the other. The book is very authentic, empowering, and practical. I remember googling Barbara and her website subtitle is: leading author for women's financial success or something like that and I thought yeah but Suze Orman has been around longer. After reading both books, I'm clear that Barbara is the LEAD and is standing for women's financial success....Great Books Barbara!

I practically raised myself thru trial and error and didn’t have many positive role models motivating me to be better so this book is a must read! Lots of valid information i could’ve used before and will use now.

Barbara Stanny knows women and money! If you've struggled with creating wealth in your life, Barbara is your go-to-person. All of her books are inspiring, useful and transformative. I've even worked with Barbara one-on-one, and she helped me make major changes in how I view myself and money so that creating, spending and saving it comes from a place of inner power.

I received a significant raise and promotion due to reading this book. Had I never read it, I would have never asked for what I KNEW I deserved. My boss didn't flinch when I asked for a promotion. Every woman should read this book, no matter what stage they are in professionally.

Found this book very practical and enjoyed the read. The tips are great, especially for beginners. Don't skip the advices about financial education, though. Without understanding how the market works, it will be hard to make it. And this, by the way, applies to men as well. You need to invest wisely. Overall, a book that is worth it.

Wow! Ms. Stanny presented some ideas that I never thought of before. The examples are clear and concise, no psychobabble or motivational drivel here. A must for any woman considering a career change, or has a change thrust upon them.

I started this book and kept going because I thought, there has got to be something solid in here that I can use. I really didn't learn anything from this book. I know the title isn't "How to Become a Six-Figure Woman" but there wasn't any hard data, just quotes from interviews that fit the authors theories. It seemed like it was aimed at the McDonalds worker who the author feels just needs to be told, quit McDonalds, you deserve more money. All you need to do is put your resume in for six-figure jobs, and the karma of the universe will take care of it for you. Believe in yourself, and let go of the ledge, and you will land in a six-figure job. Also, there is a big difference between 100k and 500k, and they are both six-figure jobs. You can barely support a family on 100k in Washington DC, but you could do well on 500. So just the six-figure mark isn't really much of a goal.
Spend your money on "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", I have done quite well with that books advice.

Super book so far. I'm almost finished reading it and I am pumped up. This book can change your outlook - if you allow it to happen. Somewhere in all of us (It is deeper for some than others.) is a tiger that is just dying to get out and explore. My tiger is no longer just purring with the occasion roar. The Roar is Rumbling much more often!
