The book is very excellent and the weapons are easy to make!! But here is a warning to some parents: SOME OF THE BOMBS THAT ARE IN THIS BOOK MAY BE ILLEGAL FIREWORKS!! but all-in-all, the weapons are excellent but just don't shoot anybody! (they can be painful) :3

My 12 yo son could hardly concentrate on school work the day this came in the mail. He has been creating ever since I set him loose. The projects have led to many other scientific investigations and a lot of fun. He hasn't been able to get the ping ping ball bazooka to work. But he has been able to see that it is because the ball blocks the air flow not allowing oxygen to the lighter/flame. But he's working on alternatives.

One thing I appreciate is that for his sister's birthday party he has created a game for the kids to play that the boys will enjoy for sure....blowing darts at the dragon!

This book has clear instructions, stimulates creativity and problem solving, and brings a lot of fun to my young man.

I bought this book for my nephew for Christmas. It was immediately seized by my brother-in-law and one of his friends who commenced ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the various projectiles and weaponry. Something like "shoelace darts" (I don't know the official title of this weapon in the book, because I never got to hold the book after the big boys got ahold of it) was tried immediately. Apparently, the instructions are easy to follow, even by someone with a few Christmas beers on board.

If you buy this book for someone in a multi-geek household, make sure you buy one for everyone.

Very detailed and clear directions. I enjoyed sharing this my friends kids. We spent an afternoon building a catapult and then launching mini-marshmallows into a bucket. The kids had a great time making adjustments to get the tracjectory just right!
