After making an important point the author used humorous dialog to add to the main character's personality. This type of writing has been used extensively by Ludlum. I feel this makes the character more interesting. Keep it up!

This is not your "typical" Ludlum thriller; think Dr. Strangelove (i.e., Buck Turgidson is wrongfully cashiered and finds a new career) and you pretty much got it. It's a short book, an easy evening's brain candy. There appears to be a sequel, which I intend to read soon.

This book was "unputdownable". From the minute I started to read it I couldn't stop. I just could not wait to see what would have happened to two enemies who were forced to work together. Fantastic read!!

Excellent read. If you thought all of Ludlum's books were gripplingly suspenseful thrillers, don't be fooled by this one. It shows Ludlum has a lighter side. It will keep you chuckling from start to finish. If you liked this one be sure to read Road to Omaha also.

Fantastic Police Novel by Robert Ludlum. I first noticed Ludlum with the original Jason Bourne Trilogy movies, then I came to read his books.
I am not one to spoil endings or reveal too many information about books. However, I can tell you that this is a very good read, full of twists and action. A real thriller from back in the "no cell-phones day". Very interesting and the narrative is very descriptive and fascinating as well as the dialogues.
I highly recommend this Ludlum novel to any fan or Bourne or the Ludlum books.
Other 5+ Star Robert Ludlum Novels: The Janson Directive and The Sigma Protocol.

Fast, action packed read all the way through!!! I read these books on my kindle on my galaxy s3 so I'm always grabbing the phone, sometimes at stop lites, if I'm waiting for somebody to come outside or waiting in the parking of my kids school. I sneak a few pages here and there. Technology on the go has tremendously enhanced my reading pleasure.

A friend gave me this book and several others she had finished. Though she said she loved this book, it was the only one I thoroughly hated. This is Ludlum's attempt at comedy. While he may be a great thriller writer, he should stay far, far away from comedy. The story is just plain silly and reads like it was written for a college freshman class.
So why did I buy it? After reading it and throwing it away, my friend told me it was the only book of the bunch that she wanted back.

Robert Ludlum is best known for is international thrillers. In The Road to Gondolfo, he followed his formula for complex plots and fast action, but added humor; even sense of the absurd.
If you're a Ludlum fan but not in the mood for too heavy of a book, this is the Ludlum for you!

Another great book from a great author! I have started buying these $.99 used paperbacks because of the obvious cheap price, but so far, all of the ones I have received have been in good shape and have arrived on time, as everything from the store does.

For me this novel of Robert Ludlum is quite different than the other his books. It desribes imaginary situation which never happend in practcice.. Concerning story of this novel I do not understand why Hovard is so rich, already at the begining of the story? To solve it I read this book twice, without conclusion. Very sorry. I think that the present novel is rather an illusion. The real Pope Francisek the first come to Poland just today.
I am not very religious but I see the difference.
Of course Robet Ludlum with his talent made this novel interesting. It was good book for vacation!

Imagination reaches its heights while perusing this book.
Its a great buy (for me), although its the same old Robert Ludlum style, and i'm sure i'll never get bored of it.
And even more interesting that there's a movie adaptation of it coming soon!!!
