Cami and Landon's romance was like wearing a comfortable pair of shoes. I guess I was expecting..I dunno..more oomph from them. Especially considering how long they've had this unrequited love for each other. Cami was more of a spitfire than I expected and I appreciated that. However, Landon fell flat for me. He reminded me of Wesley from the Princess Bride-and I love the movie- but Landon never left the as you wish stage. Instead, he became a doormat to whatever Cami wanted. He rarely went against her wishes and that became annoying because I felt Landon had more personality and drive than what was shown. Overall, I liked the story and the characters, but Cami and Landon's relationship felt lopsided and incomplete.

Cami and Landon were sweet together. I loved Landon's amazing tenderness and devotion towards Cami. These two had quite a few obstacles against them over a decade ago. First being Landon being to old for Cami and then the Navy took him away. Cami marries leaving Landon to believe she's moved on but while she moved on he couldn't find anyone long term. His heart always came back to the one who got away. Cami is free, finally accepting that her marriage wasn't what a real union should be. She's even trying to hook her ex husband up with anyone she can find. Landon is home , thankfully these two aren't jealous and can let the past remain in the past and they find there forever right in each others arms. Finally where they belong.. Together.
Some funny times along with some super sexy times keep this story moving along and then trials and struggles solidify the strength of their bond is cemented and true. My heart broke with them and healed with them. Really sweet second chance story. Can't wait for more.

I have a new book boyfriend who is fiercely claiming the first position! Landon is just amazing and he is perfect for Cami!!
I loved loved loved this book, so far is one of my favorites in my whole life!
Like always, Kristen Proby wrote it with heat, passion, amazing humor, sensitiveness and really strong characters.
This is a second chance story and the way they developed their relationship brought us the sense of reality. Even being fictional, we don't get uncomfortable thinking "hey, easy, tiger, don't push, this is way too much!". No. We get involved into the story loving as fiercely as they do.
I cried, laughed and totally fell in love with all of them!
And even during the sad parts, Kristen doesn't write them with exaggeration and sensationalism. She is loving, sweet and so sensible that makes all extra touching!
I can tell that I will definitely read this book again. And again, and another time. And I will love it even more each time.

For Landon it took almost a lifetime to discover what Cami had admitted to at a young age. That falling in love is confusing, heartbreaking and worth all the drama in the end. I received an ARC of Close to You by Kristen Proby in exchange for an honest review. The second chance plot line is not that surprising in romance. It's been done before, quite often in fact. However, Camilla was the spark that drew me to this novel. Her undying love for the boy who captured her heart at age five and held it throughout youth, adulthood, distance and his blind ignorance made for a great payoff. Close to You has sentiment, brass and whole lot class added to the teasing allure.

Close to You is the second story in Kristen Proby’s Fusion series which focuses on five female friends who’ve started a restaurant together. While I haven’t read the first book in the series, this one is a friends-to-lovers/best friend’s sibling trope which I always enjoy, and it’s an easy, light read with a predictable plot. However it is a little too light on substance and doesn’t have enough conflict for me to say that it will linger long in my memory.
I think there is definitely an audience for this type of romance, even if it’s not going on my own personal favorites list. The story is predictable from start to finish with a few twists but nothing you don’t see coming. Close to You is a sweet friends-to-lovers story that will please readers looking for an easy, low-on-angst afternoon read.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Fusion series! I liked the build up, the little snippets we saw in book one, to Cami and Landon's story.
Cami is sweet, loving, funny, sexy, and smart. She's got a huge heart and so easily lovable!
Landon is caring, loving, a handyman, sweet, and super swoon worthy! He is completely devoted to Cami and the things he does just makes me go AWWW!!!
Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

This is the second book in Kristen Proby's new Fusion series. We meet both Cami and Landon in Listen To Me but we don't really get to know too much about each character.
Cami has loved Landon since she first met him when they were just kids, she tried moving on and getting married but she realises no one will ever really live up to Landon.
Landon wasn't at all what I was expecting, he was so sweet and charming and you just couldn't help but fall in love with the hunky man!
Cami was a better character than I was expecting her to be, I thought I would like her sure but I ended up liking her so much than I expected to.
I have to say Kristen Proby has a way of writing men you just can't help but love, they always have me won over instantly.
There is always plenty of feelings involved when you read one of Kristen 's book's. She has just the right amount of hot and steamy scenes which leave you needing a cold shower, emotional and angst filled scenes that make you have a little cry and also a heaping pile of humour that leaves your sides sore from laughing.
I for one can't wait to see what comes next from these sexy, sassy, kickass restaurant owners and the hot, sweet and charming men that win their hearts!

This was a very sweet, low angst story. I enjoyed Cami and Landon's story but felt there was something lacking. It was too easy and neatly packaged. I read fiction because I want HEA but I like some not so happy in the middle. I didn't get to root for them because they were practically joined at the hip from the beginning.
Overall, it was an enjoyable quick read.

This book is #2 in Kristen Proby's Fusion series. It's the friends-to-lovers story of Cami (one of 5 close female friends who co-own a popular new restaurant in Portland) and Landon, the older brother of one of the other owners, Mia. Cami and Landon have known each other practically their whole lives. She's always had a well-known crush on him. After high school Landon was in the Navy for 12 years. He became a Navy pilot; flying was his passion,. Unfortunately, an accident ended his flying career. Since he couldn't fly anymore, he left the Navy and came home, joining his dad's construction company Cami, now a divorcee, has never stopped loving him. It turns out, Landon has always had feelings for her, too, and now he feels that the age gap that held him back before is no longer relevant, and he begins to woo her in earnest. Their relationship has some ups and downs, but the bond forged between them is deep and strong. A sweet romance.

Kristen Proby knows how to write characters that steal my heart! Landon and Camille (Cami) are the latest couple that do just that in this friends to lovers romance that marks the second in her Fusion series.
What follows is two people finally giving in to the feelings they've carried around for years. I loved how Kristen didn't rush them into anything, but allowed them learn who they are in the now. Landon is passionate and sweet, bringing out all the best in Cami. I loved watching them grow as a couple and deal realistically with Cami's insecurities. The dynamic with the group of girls was great; everyone needs friends like these! Throw in a cat that just adopts Cami's house, but really loves Landon. Scoot was definitely a hoot!! It was definitely another favorite to add to my Kristen collection!

I love this series, featuring strong women who aren't in need of being rescued.
Camille has had a crush on her friend Mia's brother, Land on, since she was a kid. He liked her too but their age difference kept him away.
No spoilers, just suffice it to say, when they reunite, sparks fly. Cami is funny & smart & Landon is a hot, determined BBF.
Only issue I had was not getting a full explanation of what happened to Landon in the navy...a pilot who had to eject from his plane...but no more info about why it happened & why he's grounded. It's what made home go home, so it should be revealed, right?
With that exception, I enjoyed their story & look forward to Kat's story next!

Love a story of friends to lovers? Look no further! Close to You is a love story that has lasted from a very early age and graduated to a passionate flame.
Sometimes our timing is just off. We are too young, or the circumstances are not right, or we end up marrying the wrong person because the man we love is not interested in us. This is Cami's life. She married Brian after Landon went off to the Navy. She wanted a home and a peaceful life of having someone who loved her. So she settled for Brian thinking that Landon would never see her as anything other than a childhood friend, a sister of sorts.
Now that Landon is permanently home, and Cami is divorced, finally the timing is right. As they discover each other's well-kept secrets, a courtship like we've dreamed develops.
All the emotions felt in childhood are now magnified in adulthood and experience, making for a wonderful love story that will keep you entertained.

I absolutely loved Landon and Cami's story. Cami is 1/5 of the owners of a popular restaurant, and when they hire her former crush and friend, all bets are off. Landon doesn't necessarily want to be back in town after an injury doesn't allow him to continue his pilot career, but he can't say it's a hardship being around his sister's best friend Cami. Sparks fly, but will the past not allow these two to be together?
Kristen Proby is a master at sweet and spicy, loved the story, and these friends will have you giggling and swooning together. Can't wait for more!

It was all right. The main couple gets together and stays pretty much together the rest of the story. There’s a few little bumps thrown in but for the most part it’s a happy ending in the middle of the story and the rest is just fluff. And sometimes you need that. I felt the characters overall were a little weaker than they were in the first book of the series.

Kristen Proby is one of my favorite authors. She writes fun characters and situations. These books always are hard to put down. I really liked Cami and Landon's story. These two are meant to be together! There wasn't a lot of the silly back and forth of should we or shouldn't we like each other that so many books get caught up in. These two finally decided to act on their feelings and went for it! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read!

I have enjoyed listening to Roger Wayne in the Until Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds and he didn't disappoint as a first time narrator for a Kristen Proby book. I loved the hero and heroine of this story and how the narrators brought them to life along with the story. I'm still in love with Kristen Proby's books and can't wait for the next installment of the Fusion Novels.

There is drama but handled with two adults who've waited for one another for so long. Landon is a true man like no other. I loved taking the journey with him and Cami. Amazing love and steamy scenes. This book is just good and just like the Seattle series you get to revisit the characters you love.

This is a great friends to lovers story. Cami is best friend's with Mia and has longed for something more with Mia's brother Landon since she was a young girl. Life has gotten in the way of these two being together. It's only after Landon is discharged from the military and back in Portland, that they realize their friendship could be something more.
I like the friends first trope but for some readers, it may seem like it moves too fast. There isn't a lot of get to know you time. Once their feelings are made known, it's hot and heavy. Years of pent up lust come to resolve.
Proby writes excellent family sagas. In this case, the family is a group of friends. They tease and support and cry with each other. Perfect summer read! Looking forward to the rest of the ladies finding their HEA>
