Patricia Briggs is an excellent writer and has done it again with her new Alpha & Omega series. She makes you care for her characters. This book made me laugh, made me cry and ended up leaving me feeling very satisfied. Anna and Charles are perfect for each other and if you read Ms. Briggs Mercy Thompson novels, you know that Charles deserves a mate. The mystery draws you in quickly, and you have to love Charles and Anna if you love werewolf romance. Make sure you get Book One first, it will introduce you to these characters and help you to love them. I am a confirmed Mercy Thompson fan, I wasn't sure what I would think about these new books. What I feel is WOW! I love them, I wish she would write more novels faster. I eat her books up.

I thought it would be hard to top Mercedes Thompson as my favorite character, but Anna Cornick might just do it. This book is a little low on plot, but the character exposition is brilliant and a natural addition to the series. The secondary characters are as three dimensional as the main, but the true focus is Charles and Anna. This is essentially a book about the developing relationship between the newly mated pair with a few action scenes thrown in to move the story along.

This book was enjoyable. I really liked the characters. It wasn't convoluted with too many story lines (sorry Game of Thrones)! The man character has a kick a** personality. Theres were's vampires and fairies. That aren't what'd you'd think of a fairy to be. Author did a good job of grounding the characters to their surroundings. Solid book
Dragon Blood (The Hurog Duology, Book 2) :: Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega, Book 1) :: The Economics of Manipulation and Deception - Phishing for Phools :: The Only EKG Book You'll Ever Need :: On the Prowl

Recommended for friends of supernatural critters who really have to live in the world with both sets of problems.
Guts and real heroines with character
I love the way Anna the Omega Werewolf with so much previous abuse learns to choose overcoming fear and not flinching from doing what has to be done and accepts te absolvum as right.

Great books stemming from the Mercy Thompson book series. Very good spin off from the original story. The characters and plot are strong enought to hold up in a series all of their own. This series adds an interesting angle to the story since it's pretty much told from the eyes of the Omega wolf. You will not be dissappointed!

I enjoyed this novel in the Alpha & Omega series. It was a bit slow in some places. I would skip ahead but would return and read the skipped places. In the end, everything came together very nicely! I look forward to the next novel in the series.

Would of seen more of Charles and Anna bond happened. Learning more about Sunny would like of been on interesting as well. There were some twists that did not make sense but got they were touched upon later.

I've been anxiously awaiting this book for months, and wasn't let down in the least. The first few pages of the book just draw you in, outlining that even though Anna and Charles are mated, married, and love each other, they have just met, and are not sure what their bond really means yet. If you like the Mercy Thompson series, but sometimes feel like you're missing the joke with all the werewolf points, you'll LOVE Alpha and Omega. It's insightful and in depth in a way that Mercy, (while raised by werewolves was never part of the pack) just can't be. It also brings in werewolves from Europe, giving us a more global perspective on the wonderful world Ms Briggs has created for us.

Hunting Ground had a great pace, great characters, and always kept you guessing. You don't want to miss out on this one!

Condition not as good as described. The cover and pages were damaged along with slight water damage making the book bent out of shape. For used very good i expected creases and dog ears not a damaged book. Book was the correct item but not as described.

Hunting Ground is truly a fabulous piece of work, which can only be expected because Patricia Briggs is a fabulous author. You have the main plot of a conference of werewolves from around the world to debate about coming out, and anyone who knows Brigg's work knows than when lots of dominate werewolves get together, tension and tempers both run high, making for a enthralling read already. Add in all the sub-plots that have their own unique moments of excitement, joy, and tension, and you have a book that you have to tear yourself away from in order to do normal everyday things, such as eat or sleep.

Well done, Patricia Briggs!

I really enjoyed the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, so once I finished that I moved on to the Alpha & Omega series. I've really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a quick read with a hint of romance, then this book is for you. Unlike the Mercy Thompson series, the Alpha and Omega books don't offer as much action, but are still full of suspense. Action and suspense are to different beasts, and I couldn't put this series down. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. You can tell that Patricia Briggs is getting her stride in the second book of this series. It has improved greatly from the first one. I enjoyed all the characters and it kept my attention all the way through.

Patricia Briggs writes in a way that keeps the interest. Her characters are well built in profile and with recognizable characteristics; they are memorable and I am able to know them well. My favorite so far is the Mercy Thompson's series, but she has blended the "people" into the Alpha and Omega series with ease. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Briggs work.

Patricia Briggs creates another story that sucks you in and keeps you up to 3 a.m. Considering how many stories she has created in this genre, the story lines vary enough to keep you interested and wanting more. I hope more Charles and Anna books are written in the future. I love all three and a half!

Patricia kept the story moving with interesting action and creative and relatable activities. Werewolves at a business conference? International intrigue? Mystery? Life/death battles? She has it all! Fun! When is the next installment?

I have read (and read again) both this series and the Mercedes series. I usually binge read a new book with as few bathroom and food breaks as possible. This one started out slower than the others and I put it down several times. Happily, it picked up speed after a few chapters and did not disappoint. Hurry up and write the next one!

The plot has been well summarized in these reviews, but I want to add my 2 cents --
Beautifully written, intelligent, great characters, good mystery. I whizzed through it so fast the first time -- because I wanted to see what happened next -- that I promptly sat down to read it again to savor the richness of this tale. Having read her short story in the anthology Strange Brew, I was pleased to see Tom and Moira in this novel. Patty's characters sparkle with life. The worst thing about the book was the fact that I finished reading it and I'll have to wait another year for a new Anna and Charles story!!! Thank you, Patricia Briggs.

I love this author! She writes about werewolves. Just don't like that the women aren't more dominant but that may be just me liking strong female characters. Otherwise, love love this series. She writes in such a way as to pull you in and forget your surroundings.

Great plot, good characters. I love Patricia Briggs' books! No heavy reading but a real wild ride. This is a continuation of some the characters of her Mercy Thompson series. A chance to get to know some of the other characters' stories. If you are a romantic at heart with a mysterious soul . . . this is a book for you.

Patricia Briggs keeps delivering -- this second book in her Alpha & Omega series has some lovely characterization -- even while working within the confines of her version of werewolf psychology/sociology. I had already worked out the who-done-it part before the reveal, but that isn't abnormal for me. Still a very satisfying read, even though I'm not a huge fan of urban fantasy.

Hunting Ground is the second book in the Alpha and Omega series and contiues the story of Charles and Anna. Its set in the final chapters of the Mercy Thompson book Mooncalled and explores the story behind the werewolves coming out to the public. Hunting Ground focuses on the relationship between Charles and Anna, taking a deeper look at the character of Charles. Charles seemed kinda one dimensional in Mooncalled but here his character is complex and well developed. Patricia Briggs takes you on a trip through a part of her world she hasn't really shown before and it is well worth the ride. I'd definitely recommend reading the previous book Cry Wolf and probably the short story Alpha and Omega from the collection On the Prowl first as some things won't make sense first otherwise. Otherwise an excellent read.

Patricia Briggs had hit the mark with the continuation of these characters from the Mercy Thompson series. I had a hard time putting down the book, as was the case in the Mercy Thompson series. I can't wait for the next book to come out and neither can my friends that are reading this series with me!

I really enjoy reading Patricia Briggs books. She is an excellent writer. What I like about her books are they make you feel you are right there experiencing it with the characters. Love Anna and Charles and all the things that happen to them. And how strong Anna is and we all need strong women role models.

Another great story. Anna starts to come out of her shell in this book and proves to be much braver than she thinks. She is becoming more sure of her relationship with Charles. This one even has a bit of a murder mystery in it. And she still has the humor and witty dialogue. It is hard to put her books down. I can hardly wait for her third book to come out in 2011!

I really liked the Alpha & Omega series. Having read the Mercy Thompson series I was worried about being disappointed, but honestly by the end I couldn't decide which series I liked better. If you like urban fantasy then this is definitely a set of books to read.

I really love this series. Hunting Ground really brought unexpected emotion to me as I read it. Moments when when I simply shivered from the intensity of the feelings. It is amazing when an author puts together words in such a way.

The combination of Anna and Charles evolving relationship with the overall werewolf storyline is absolutely captivating..

I hope there will be more of this series!

I really love this series. I flew threw the Mercy Thompson series and think it's great that this series sprouted from it. I think the Anna-Charles relationship develops nicely. Anna is finally learning just what it means to be an Omega and comes into power of her own. Very moving story. I can't wait for Book 3!
