I thought Eminem would be talking more about his life, growing up and finally giving some instight into his personal life, but instead its a book with alot of pictures that repeats itself over and over. The book took me a day to read thats how little actual writing is in it. If you want a book with alot of pics then this is good for you

I don't usually read autobiographies but I've been a fan of eminem for years so I couldn't pass this one up. This is one of the best books I've read. I've read Booza's book "Whatever You Say I Am" but, this one is much better than that one. The way em speaks makes it seem like he's sitting right there having a conversation with you. I love how the book is formatted as well, it makes it really easy to read and understand.
The first part/preface/introduction is enough reason in itself to buy this book. The way he talks about Proof is really touching. You really get a sense of how much people like Proof impacted his life and career.
The lyrics are also a nice feature. Many, well most, are hard to read. I think the only one I could read fully was the paper he wrote "Stan" on. That was probably the only one that I saw that he wrote in a more paragraph form, rather than one or two lines here and there. It was really neat to see that, and his overall process even if you can't read them all.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes eminem and is interested in reading more about him.

Eminem fans will not be disappointed with this book... It was written by Marshall Mathers himself, not by an outside source making speculations about his life. You get some great photos of his younger years and many pages of lyrics, which provide more precious glimpses into his world and how his mind works. The book also displays his true character--hard-working, dedicated, persistent, passionate about his work and providing the best for his children, sensitive, insightful and intelligent. This book was written as a gift to his fans. Thank you, Marshall!

Plenty of interesting and informative information from the man himself, no more bio's or re-hash's
"this is my story and can't no one tell it for me"
The pictures are great as well, the whole layout really, it's incredibly well organized and put together from start to finish. The lyric sheets alone are worth the purchase price for me.
There are a few things that disappointed me, as a die-hard fan. Em is crazy. Like, lunatic crazy. He really holds back in parts and masks the truth in humor. Em, you're borderline schizo, half of your song 'crazy in love' is literally a love song to the 'half' of you that is responsible for your stream-of-consciousness rhyming ability. And you downplay Kim, your mom, and pretty much everyone else in your life, and your drug use. Your title should be 'The Way I Want Hailie to Think I Am so She'll be a Responsible Adult and Won't be too Upset at Me Now That She's Old Enough To Hear My Actual Songs'.
And I wanted more information on Infinite and SSEP and what it was like creating those albums. But anyway, great read, the very existence of this book is a dream come true.

He is the worlds Greatest Rapper, he is the master of raising the "FU" sign to the public, his music has hit the ears of anyone & everyone who's ever put a speaker to their ears. He has many names, but we know him as Eminem.

This book is really great. Since the book is written mostly by him, you will learn A LOT about him, even the most hardcore fans will find somethings new here. He's very open, honest & pretty funny. Also, there's like 20 pages of his lyric sheets with comments on them by him, this was cool for me cause I like seeing how music artist write their stuff (although his handwritting is hard to read). Also there's personal pics (a bunch), drawings (like 4) but mostly this book is like sitting across him and interviewing him.

I was looking forward to getting this book but what I got was far beyond what I expected. Eminem (Marshall Mathers)reveals his inner most thoughts and feelings ranging over multiple areas of his life in this 200 something page candid book. After reading it one can't help but feeling like he or she is actually closer to this man as a music artist and as a person. Great book, very revealing, and highly recommended to anyone interested in the life of Eminem, his perspective on his life/world, and the creative process he uses in which he has made his music.

This is an excellent book for people who would like to know more about Eminem's personal life. In this book he explains himself in ways you would not hear anywhere else. He goes into great detail about how he was affected by Proof's murder, his relationship with his daughters and Kim, how he began rapping, what makes up the part Eminem/Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers, and how his acting career started. This book includes great pictures from his past and also a picture of the film script for his movie "8 Mile." This is a great book for anyone who would like to Read about his life, Eminem fan or not.

Amazing, it really gives Eminem fans in site on his way to fame and who helped along the way. He also explains his struggles as he rose to fame; struggles like dealing with death, family, doubts and his known conventional style. I particularly enjoyed many of his crazy stories with Proof and what it was like before people even knew his name. Definitely I would say you need to read this if your and Eminem, Marshal Mathers or Slim Shady fan. :)

Since this book is coming from a professional rappers point of view and not a professional writers point of view, I'm shocked to hear complaints like, "not enough writing." Truthfully, for someone who doesn't write professionally (rap doesn't count, it doesn't follow regular grammar or writing rules), he articulates himself very well. In addition, his memoir is honest and compelling without having to fill a certain page number quota or airing ALL of his dirty laundry. Eminem's book is by far one of the most thorough and informative autobiographies because he doesn't just dwell on his personal struggles but gives us, the fans, a glimpse into his music and music career; all of which should take precedence over any of the smut and BS some "real" fans are looking for in an Eminem memoir. I'm appalled to hear complaints saying, "he didn't get personal enough," or, "I wish he would have told us more about his kids and family," because that's just wrong on so many levels. Just because Eminem is famous doesn't give us the right to complain that maybe he wants to keep some things to himself. Some things are not meant to be shared with the whole world, after all, he DOES have children and family to think of and take care of and whatever he puts out he should be able to be proud of and not have to worry about his daughter picking up the book and maybe finding something out about daddy that he might not want her to know. Overall, excellent book. You don't NEED to know about his relationship with his family or how many drugs he's done. Doesn't change his music and sure as hell doesn't protect his family's best interests.

This CD takes Eminem's chart topping single and puts it on a CD for your listening pleasure. I don't think the Way I am is his best song. You're better off buying his entire album (The Marshall Mathers LP), because the album features better songs as well as this one. Make the right choice.

I was looking forward to receiving and reading this book, but it far exceeded my expectations even. I felt like Eminem is deeply personal and true throughout the book, and he comes through as an intelligent, thoughtful, real person as well as a loving, generous father and a truly gifted, talented artist. I also loved the way the book was done as far as its style and the pictures and drawings and extras just added extra value. It is one of my favorite books!

I just finished his book & I honestly feel that I just spent quality time with him!! It felt like he was talking to me in the way only Marshall can talk! I feel closer to him than before...that he let me into his life even more! I feel sooo grateful to him for that.
I have been a fan since the very beginning & when I think I can't possibly love him anymore than I already do-he does something new!
