Short book. I would have liked more detail, but other than that it was interesting and it sparked an interest to find out more about some of the ones I didnt know more about. I would recommend this book to anyone with a general interest in the subject.

The book refers to serial killers we've all heard about - always interesting, nonetheless. I'd like to hear about lesser know or even current supposed serial killers. It is a psychological phenomena that is timeless; however, the serial killer mind 'code' seems to resist unraveling. I am fascinated with the psychological & social contributions to these people - what unravels them - or are they 'unraveled'? Could it really be just who they are? How many walk among us today? Anytime I try to look it up, I feel I get a skirted answer from the past. Why should we comfort ourselves with the idealistic thought that not many serial killers are currently active. I would like to know the truth.... honest numbers, statistics. I'm afraid these days we sweep it under the rug and watch a football game instead. We all need to be aware of and alert to the dangers that linger in the darkness - sometimes even outside our front door. I'd like to have some up to date information. Who's out there now? To think there is no one is to be naïve. I'd like to read something current and off the beaten path. Regurgitating the past is helpful as it keeps us on our toes if we're aware. When we do know the truth, we want to know who to look for. It gets tiring feeling suspect of everyone. After all, why would there not be more Bundys, Gacy's, Ridgeways? They are walking among us and we aren't privileged enough to know about it - other political & social issues take the stage. The truth is, lives are at risk everyday from sociopathic people....
