Seth Godin repeats his simple message a lot. When your message is repetitive and simple you have to be especially creative. Like a songwriter who has the gift of singing the same song (it's all about the Lurve) in a multitude of different ways. Keeping the connection alive and giving the message new meaning. Getting to the chorus. Getting to the point.

And the point. The point is probably best summed up, after all his multitude of writings, by the title of this beautifully created piece of motivational art. The point is: it's my turn. What I do matters, and to do anything less than my best is to run away from life. Not just from my own life, but from the life of the world, and the gift I can bring to it. This doesn't have to be felt as a burden. It can be a privilege.

And if all that sounds too simple, perhaps naive, then pass on by. But I have found Seth's words, both on his daily blog and in his published books, to be of immense help in encouraging me, coaxing me, and supporting me to get my "thing" done. Despite the "three chords and the truth" stylings of Seth Godin's work, there is a deeply thought out, richly complex, lived out philosophy holding it all together. Seth's song can handle, in fact it demands, the repetition.

I'm grateful for the hard and generous work that Seth does, and I heartily recommend all of his books to anyone who wants to make a difference for good. "It's Your Turn" is particularly lovely.

Contemporary book feeling. Pushing young people to act and fear no fear. Maybe in young people nudging is more productive than pushing these days. Don't you think? . One part I diidn't like and strongly disagree is the use of GMO seeds in the case of Lucy and Western Seed. The approach is quite epidermal.. The reference in "we don't need badges" is truly all around us but as in my 50s I feel it is simply not right. But never mind, 4 copies are in other hands already. Thanks Seth.

Encouraging manna from a modern-day prophet. I bought 10 copies to share the wisdom with friends and family that I felt would benefit from the inspiration. Seth gives so much...it's up to us to support the cause!

Really enjoyed the insights in this book and how they helped me to think through issues on my own. I bought several copies for young people I'm close to hoping that they'll use its interesting thought provoking 'stories' and enlightening thoughts to help them help themselves.

Seth Godin is one of the smartest and wisest people on the planet. His daily blog makes my day nearly every day. It's Your Turn is a great work; I used it as a holiday gift for my clients and family. Don't miss it.

I enjoyed this book immensely. It is truth followed by truth followed by truth. It's especially enabling for people in the workforce who want to do things differently. At its core, it's a practical book about how to take control of your life. -- Bill Ginnodo
