Unfortunately, this one missed the mark for me very much which is sad because I very much love Lorelei. I listened to this in audio format and would advise that this one be read. The male narrator for Unraveled is different from the one used in Bound and Unwound and he massacred Knox's part and even Deacon's. Beyond that, the story felt as if it were lacking...at least to me. Potentially exacerbated by the fact that It went rather long, and could have been condensed in several spots. I suppose I was expecting ... more ... from the story. I don't care for males as the submissive stories so that could explain by malcontent. But I don't think that's all it is. Knox, as a character, came of lacking as far as personality. I loved him in the other books but neither liked or disliked him in this one, same for Shiori. They were a bit lack luster? although kinky, and the lifelessness lead to a similar overall vibe for the story.

The Mastered Series has quickly become one of my favorite BDSM series. Although I really find that the series is really in a class of its own. Yes it has BDSM elements in it, but it is soooo much more than that. This book was really a surprise to me. I honestly went into it without reading anything about it, not even the blurb. I went into it because I loved these glimpses we got of these two in Unwound. I was beyond surprised to find that is was a story about a man coming to terms with his submissive side. That struggle to understand that it really takes a strong person to be able to give up total control, and put it in the hands of another person. I loved being in his head as he started realizing these feelings in himself. As a person who went through a similar awaking in the not so distant past, it was really great to see an author get those feelings right. Also getting to really know Ronin Black’s sister Shiori, and to see how she is just as complex and amazing as her luscious brother. This was truly a wonderful peak inside the head of a dominant woman, and great to see her portrayed realistically. Dominants whether they male or female are not always the strong ones in the relationships, they often times need to lean on their partner for strength too. The give and take is just like any relationship, but with a deeper seed of trust in my honest opinion. This book captures that beautifully. I highly recommend this book and series!!!!!!!

For me, the name Lorelei James is synonymous with rough, sexy cowboys and badass women who drive them crazy! So when I heard about Ms. James' MASTERED series, I was ecstatic to read something new from one of my GO TO authors. Now, I was a little late to the game, and started with UNRAVELED, Book 3 in the series, but it was fine because it can totally be read as a standalone for sure! After becoming so enamored with Shiori Hirano and Knox Lofgren, the amazing lead characters in UNRAVELED, I can safely say that Ms. James' can DO NO WRONG! The name Lorelei James is NOW synonymous with BDSM Romance.
With UNRAVELED, this author gives us a scorching, intense love story of two people trying to figure out who they are with and without each other. It's raw, emotional, and very complex. It sets the bar for BDSM Romance for sure.
Shiori is a woman so determined to bring out the submissive nature in the VERY alpha, Knox Lofgren. She feels the pull of their connection, and she will stick to her guns to make him acknowledge the submissive within. Knox is as alpha, strong, and protective as they come, so when he feels the urge to do anything to please this woman who stands before him, he is somewhat perplexed. A proposition is struck, so let the games begin. This connection, this pull that they feel for one another, has them questioning everything. Just when they are moving forward, something happens that pushes them three steps back.
Spending more time with each other, learning their ways, opening up their hearts and exposing their souls bring them that much closer to a happily ever after.
The push/pull, love/hate, competitive nature of these two characters make this story suspenseful and enticing. A beautiful, erotic, and luscious romance, UNRAVELED will take you on a unique journey full of kinky goodness! Lorelei James is one of a kind, and she continues to blow me away with her writing.

Shiori Hirano quit the family job after realizing she wanted something else. Working at her brother's gym has helped her find new purpose in her life. She is helping make decisions to improve it. When Ronin goes on his honeymoon, she is left to deal with Knox by herself. Anytime they are around each other they butt heads.
"Word is I’m a really great guy.”
She smiled as he’d hoped she would. “Only in your dreams, Ob‑Knox‑ ious.”
Lately, there is a new tension between them. It calls to her. You see Shiori is also a Domme, and she likes to be called Mistress by her submissive. No one knows this side of her but she very much will like Knox to get with the program.
Knox Lofgren is left in charge of the gym. He is an alpha at work. To his surprise he soon discovers that Shiori can be his dominant. He is shocked to learn he's a submissive. Once the relationship begins, he starts wondering what will happen when Shiori leaves for her home in Japan again.
This is my first female dominant and male submissive book.
It was strange for me to read it and at times I had some issues with their relationship. I'm so used to my guys being alpha but I couldn't skip this one.
I like both characters. I like that their lives outside the bedroom were completely opposite. Knox was still very much in charge. The last 20% of the book was excellent.
The Mastered series is very well written. I like how the world is getting new intriguing characters. I'm always wondering if they are getting a book too.
Caged is next and I already know I'm going to love it.

Knox and Shiori work together at the Black Arts dojo. They fight and try to one up each other daily. The banter doesn't get old. When Knox is told what he is, he doesn't know how to accept it, or if he can. But Shiori is there to assist him. There are fire hot moments between Knox and Shiori while there are also times that seemed to lag excitement for me. My favorite parts were observing how Knox and Shiori's relationship would pan out, finding their balance, and setting and adjusting their limits. With a good love story there's bound to be pain, and with Unraveled we saw that. Once Shiori let down her walls, a different aspect to their relationship blossomed. The balance between Knox and Shiori was fluid and peaceful and I'm glad they found their HEA. I'm excited to read Deacon's story in the next Mastered novel. Give Knox a try and find your next book crush!

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for an honest review at The Romance Evangelist.
One of the best things that can happen in an ongoing series is when the author can redeem a mostly unlikeable character from an earlier book as the winning love interest in a following book. In UNRAVELED, Lorelei James has taken Ronin Black’s sister Shiori Hirano, a woman I initially disliked and only begrudgingly came around to liking, and made her the best heroine yet in the MASTERED series.
Now that Ronin is off on a trip to Japan to continue his martial arts training and spend time alone with his new wife Amery, his Black Arts dojo is temporarily in the hands of his sister Shiori and his right hand man Knox Lofgren. On the surface, this combination seems like a disaster in the making, since all Shiori and Knox ever seem to do is fight for domination. Yet there’s a deeper attraction under all the sparring, and when Shiori discovers Knox’s true nature, it’s all she can do to keep from immediately claiming him for good. Knox wants to be the man that Shiori believes he is, but it will take more than irresistible sexual desire to help them get past all the obstacles between them and happiness, not the least of which will be Ronin’s reaction to all that’s happened in his prolonged absence.
The ongoing transformation of Ronin’s sister Shiori from interfering and unapproachable to supportive and emotionally vulnerable without losing her innate strength has been a big draw for me in the MASTERED series and it’s a joy to see it come to fruition in UNRAVELED. As strong as she has needed to be from the start, it’s only when Shiori lets down her guard with Knox that we see the full person behind the facade. And when Knox trusts her with his newly discovered submission, the results are exhilarating. We see so much more of both characters and what’s shaped them into the people we think we know today that when they come together, it’s seems impossible that they could have ever resisted each other before. Even when the dreaded black moment of big misunderstanding arrives like clockwork, we see that neither of them is really ready to give up for good, and it makes their final HEA all the sweeter.
UNRAVELED is a solid entry in a series that keeps getting better and better for me, and I can’t wait to see how Lorelei James is going to keep it going next.

The minute Shiori "She-Cat" Hirano appeared in Bound I was drawn to her character and so I was thrilled to find out that Unraveled would be her and Knox Lofgren's story. I knew it would be different, I knew it would be unlike anything she's ever written, and I knew I was in for a treat and author Lorelei James did not disappoint. I loved this story about two people who needed each other in ways neither one had ever admitted or put words to but somehow through trial and error found the strength to follow their passion and listen to their hearts and in turn accept each other faults, baggage, and craziness to find the love and happiness they both so richly deserved.
The fact that never once during this book despite what the characters were telling each other, despite their issues, despite some serious missteps by both character did I never doubt they would wind up together is a testament to how much I believed these two were destined to be together. I love when couples share verbal sparring, maybe because it hits home with me, and Shiori and Knox are masters at it which thrilled me to no end. For them it turned out to be a weird sort of foreplay that brought them to a different place and made them confront the feelings they shared. I admire Shiori's toughness, her attitude, and the way she was honest with Knox about her wants, needs, and what he could expect if they were together intimately. She didn't back down, she didn't offer to change, and she was very clear that she was not in it for the long haul, that she planned to return to Japan at some point. There is nothing sexier than a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to please the woman he's with and Knox is that man and more. He is tough, he is protective of those he cares about, and he is dedicated. I enjoyed they way Shiori introduced Knox to his submissive side, I love that she showed him that being submissive did not mean being weak or less of a man and that in submitting to her he was taking care of her every need something he not only wanted to do but NEEDED to do. Yes, Knox struggled as I think a lot of men do with submission, but the fact that he began to realize that he really wasn't doing anything all that differently; that it was his pleasure to make sure his woman got everything she wanted and needed really made him understand what submission was all about. What was interesting was watching Shiori's realization that she needed more than just Knox's submission; that she craved the times they were together outside of the D/s relationship and that she in fact needed those intimate, non D/s, not sexual times with him.
As always in a book by Lorelei James, the intimate moments between these two were off the charts sexy with some very well written instances of delayed gratification, bondage, and some light punishment/torture scenes all thrown in for good measure. While this is a couple that enjoys their "kink" I didn't feel it overshadowed the book; yes they took some time to explore what it would mean to have this type of relationship together, yes there were times they questioned it, yes there were times they messed it all up but in the end this was the story of two people realizing that despite their need for their kink they needed each other's love more.
I must give a shout out to the secondary cast of characters in this book which all added so much to an already excellent story. Deacon really stepped up to the plate multiple times during this book and I am even more fascinated by him than I was before and ring girl/Black & Blue promoter Katie really impressed me during this story and honestly I wasn't sure where was much hope for her in the previous book so that was a huge eye opener to me. I'd like to say I made peace with Ronin in this book but honestly, I'm still on the fence about him; he's just one of those heroes that I don't trust fully although Amery moved up a couple of notches in my eyes.
I love when an author spreads her wings and tackles a new subject and then works hard to turn it into an amazing story and author Lorelei James had done just that in Unraveled. As a woman who has a very dominate streak, I love how she portrayed the heroine as someone who while dominate is also vulnerable and also needs someone she can show her softer side to. For me Unraveled is her best book in the Mastered series to date and one that I know I will enjoy re-reading again and again.

UNRAVELED provides an interesting take on how a strong willed and otherwise fairly dominant man can also be submissive to the right Domme. Although Shiori proves to be a dominant and self assured woman she does not have it all. Being a part of a very wealthy family brings with it it's own set of problems and insecurities. After a bad and loveless marriage Shiori discovers a way to be in control as well as sexually fulfilled by becoming Mistress B. By embracing and expressing herself as a Domme Shiori not only finds fulfillment for herself, but she feels that she proves a positive outlet for the submissives that she plays with. However, Shiori doesn't take on long term submissives and she is not looking for a long term commitment. That is until she begins a tentative relationship with Knox. Although she sees in Knox a submissive streak that many, including Knox, did not recognize she doesn't try to force him to be what he himself isn't ready to embrace. I LOVED that James made Shiori that way. Instead of trying to brow beat Knox, Shiori simply explains what she sees in him, why she feels that he could possibly embrace relinquishing control to her sexually, and allows Knox to come to terms with it at his own pace and in his own way.
Knox doesn't want to see the submissive traits in himself that he knows deep down inside are there. Knox has perfected the hard nosed, physically dominating, and aggressive persona that has served him so well in the world of martial arts. Knox can't quite grasp right away how a man so in control and dominant outside of the bedroom, who also enjoys some control in the bedroom, can also enjoy giving total control over to someone else. By being open to Shiori and her gentle and gradual exposure to submission Knox is able to let go. Knox discovers that submitting and wanting to please Shiori first comes with an incredible freedom and greater pleasure than he could have ever imagined before. Knox learns the pleasure and even peace that can be had when he is able to trust someone else enough to take control and take care of his needs.
UNRAVELED is a wonderfully erotic and sometimes tempestuous journey of two people learning to trust each other in many different and difficult ways. If you are looking for a D/s romance that feels more like the telling of a realistic relationship with the added twist of a Domme being in charge UNRAVELED is a refreshing break from the typical erotic BDSM story. Well written, emotionally engaging and satisfying to the end UNRAVELED didn't disappoint.

Blackraven’s Review:
POWERFUL! INSPIRING! LOVING! Those are the three words that I would choose to describe UNRAVELED by Lorelei James. Ms. James has penned an amazing story of how an alpha male can fulfill his desires to submit to a strong, powerful, loving woman while maintaining his dignity, manhood, and alpha male status. Moreover, UNRAVELED beautifully displays the give and take relationship between a Domme and a sub. Being a witness to Knox and Shiori’s inner struggles both as individuals and as a couple while they learned to communicate, compromise, and build a relationship was inspiring.
Knox’s struggle with accepting the fact that he was submissive, but more importantly relinquishing and trusting Shiori to take control in the bedroom was an intense and passionate experience that left this reader breathless. Lorelei James has created two strong, powerful characters who are wounded and in desperate need of healing. While their sexy banter and sensual love scenes will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s their blossoming love for one another that will make you swoon with envy. The emotions surrounding this couple were all consuming, not just for the characters, but also for the reader. You can’t help but be swept up into the drama, lust, passion and love of Knox and Shiori because they were truly a force to be reckoned with on any given level.
The secondary characters increased the complexity and intensity of the story as things quickly changed, emotions ran high, and relationships were built and tested. New characters were introduced in the series and old ones left you hungry for their story. As secrets were unveiled and truths were brought to the forefront, things began to heat up both in and out of the bedroom. The dialogue was rich, dark, sometimes dangerous, but also at times light, humorous and entertaining. Ms. James has developed a group of characters that readers will be drawn to for years to come. Not only has Lorelei James stepped outside her comfort zone that originated in western, erotic romance, but she’s also increased the bar for BDSM romances. My curiosity has been piqued after learning some of Deacon’s secrets, so I’m chomping at the bits for his and Molly’s story. In addition, I loved the special surprises that Ms. James incorporated into the story because they brought a smile to my face. That’s all I can say because I don’t want to spoil it for you.
If you like strong characters who are vulnerable, but willing to do the work to find their Happily Ever After, then UNRAVELED is definitely the book to read. The passion is intoxicating, the love is endearing, the sex is scorching hot, the friendships are genuine, and the plot is believable. It’s obvious that Ms. James has done her homework as she delves into the BDSM lifestyle. July is too long to wait for CAGED, but that’s my burden to bear. If you haven’t done so, pick up your copy of UNRAVELED this weekend and savor each and every moment with Knox and Shiori. You won’t be sorry! Bravo Lorelei James! You’ve hit another home run with UNRAVELED.

When I first read the blurb for UNRAVELED: The Mastered Series, Book 3, I thought it would be interesting to see how Miss James writes a male sub. I have not read many of them that I have enjoyed. No author has made me feel like I understand the dynamic. That was until I read Unraveled.
Knox is a drool worthy alpha male who finds himself in disbelief that he has submissive tendencies. This does not mean he is weak. There is nothing weak about Knox. Trust me. Nothing.
Shiori is a hard woman who is trying to find herself in America. She and Knox constantly argue and pick at each other. Who would’ve thought that the passion between them would change into something so delicious?
Knox and Shiori are combustible, inside and outside of the bedroom. To read such amazingly, hot sex scenes to some of the sweetest, most loving moments, is why I love Lorelei’s writing. She wrote such a perfect balance for them.
I was surprised at Shiori’s use of the English language. While Japanese is her first language and I understand she speaks English fluently, there were a few times her use of slang was too perfectly American. However, without these times, the banter between her and Knox wouldn’t have been so great.
We briefly see Ronin and Amery. I always love to catch up with other characters. I was a little disappointed in how Ronin handled his return to the States after their 3 months away. For him being a high-ranking martial arts master, he was not respectful like I would think he would be. I do still love him, though.
It takes a strong man to love a strong woman. That is Knox and Shiori. They found their other half in each other.
I’m looking forward to Deacon and Molly’s story. I loved getting to know Deacon more in this story.
Unraveled is by far one of the sexiest books I have read in a long time. It is meant to be savored. It’s a beautiful love story that makes complete sense.

I enjoyed this book. I was a little concerned that I wouldn’t due to me not reading the first books in the series, Minus Schooled, but this book could actually be a stand alone. So once I started it I couldn’t put it down. Shiori is an amazing lead character. I had a major Woman Crush going on. She is so strong and sure of herself. The way she is so confident with who she is, is amazing.
Now this is the first I read where the Woman is the dominant one in the bedroom. Shiori called the shots and I have to say I enjoyed the change. Knox was a great man lead. He is taking care of Ronnin’s business while he is away, and he does a pretty great job and finally comes into the person he knew he could be. Now Knox is submissive in the bedroom, but not anywhere else in his life. He is a strong male role and wants to please the woman in his life, just so happens that the woman she falls in love with is a dominant.
Shiori has been in one bad marriage before, where she has let the man walk all over her. She refuses to do it again, and therefore she create Mistress B. She knows what she wants out of a relationship, well the sex side, but she’s never been in a normal relationship. That is where Knox leads.
This book has lots of drama, lots of sex, and lots of love.
Make sure you check this series out!

Another amazing read in The Mastered Series. Unraveled is Shiori and Knox's story.. Shiori was Ronan Black sister and is as much of a control freak as he was. Knox is in charge of running the dojo while Ronin is out of the country and Bo's head to head with Shiori. Their incredibly hot sexual tension always crackling in the air. The first time their lips met it was explosive. Knox knew there was something different about Shiori and for the first time in his life he was willing to do whatever it took to make her happy even if that meant submitting to her. Knox wasn't surprised to learn Shiori was a Domme, but he was shocked to finally understand he was a submissive. Unraveled is an amazing addition to The Mastered Series and I loved it from cover to cover. I can't wait for the next release!

I know everyone is completely in love with Ronin, and yes I love him too. But I was ready for a change and beyond excited to be reading about Knox. Sexy, alpha goodness Knox. I was so intrigued about how Ms. James would handle his relationship with Shiori, since we’ve known she likes to play on the dominant side. And I’m here to tell you that Lorelei James ROCKED it!
UNRAVELED is without a doubt my absolute favorite in The Mastered Series…Knox it’s where it’s at! I love that man. He’s such a powerful, alpha male and he gives himself completely to Shiori. He cares for her. He wants to protect her. Deacon and all the others will have a hard time taking my Knox’s place.
Chemistry sizzles on and off the sheets between these two. From their work performance to the bedroom (or other places). The constant push and pull for control makes for a fun book because Shiori and Knox definitely kept me on my toes. Kept me wanting more.
The emotional struggles they both had to overcome were the perfect touch to add substantial obstacles in their path to an HEA.
I know some people may be concerned about the fact that the hero is in the submissive position, but don’t let this fool you. Knox is all alpha, all male, and everything we crave to read about. His submission just gives him more power. Lorelei James has managed to go into the world of BDSM in a new way, a new angle than what most authors tend to explore. And it comes across really beautiful. The connection between the characters in these moments goes beyond sex and Ms. James transfers that emotion to the reader.
I will stay here basking in the afterglow of reading this book. And then a little while later I’ll start getting excited about the next books. I can’t wait for Deacon’s book! Bring it on!

REVIEW:
Wowza can Ms. James can write a story. Unraveled kinda throws you for a loop by having the Dom/sub role reversed. But let me tell you it was a great story. I am not sure it would have worked with any of the other character so far in this series. But Knox and Shiori make it work and make it real. I will admit at times the story was a tad slow and I found myself wanting to skip forward. But then I was worried I would miss something. Needless to say I was very happy with Knox and Shiori’s journey of discovery.
I am already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Thoughts: The Mastered Series is one of my absolute favorite series of erotica books – not just because of the authors talent and skill with words and with seduction, but also because of the creativity and the beauty behind it. For instance in the first two books, Ronin’s skills with the ropes, just had an intrinsic beauty that was fascinating – and while Unraveled is different, for me there was something even more appealing within the pages. In Unraveled, we finally get a female dominant. This added a whole new dynamic, and I loved how Knox really had had to fight with himself on what it meant to be a ‘real man’ and his shock that someone could actually even think that he would be submissive…and that submissive automatically meant weak. It was okay for women to be submissive but not for men…the classic double standard.
I have longed to see a female dominant in a book. I would have enjoyed it simply for that alone, but the fact that it came from Lorelei James made it all the better! She did an amazing job capturing the realism behind the reactions – not just in the intimate moments, but also in the everyday ones. Just another example why I love this series! It just keeps getting better and better!
Overall….don’t be fooled or put-off by the fact that Knox is “submissive”, or the he gives her control in the bedroom….Knox has his dominant moments and he is far from a push-over. Their relationship is a lot of give and take, and there is a lot of discussion about the boundaries, what they are, and who gets to be ‘boss’ where….and there are reasons why Shiori is the way she is, and she is a very caring ‘Mistress’ and seeks to care for those who submit to her.
Take a chance on this one….you won’t regret it!

Loved this story with Shiori Hirano and Knox Lofgren who are temporarily running Sensei Black's the martial arts program, Black Arts. Knox who is ex-military, raised by a single Mom just demonstrates his ability to respect and defer to strong, capable women and give them the respect earned. Shiori is ex-CEO of OKADA, a billion dollar company and sister to Sensei Black.
I always love strong female characters and strong discerning male characters. Knox (5th degree black belt) is sexually submissive with Shiori (6th degree black belt) but who can really call this relationship submissive but truly what it is that only one can drive at a time, lol, and only the strongest of men can handle being with a "she cat" female.
I also love how the author Lorelei James weaves characters and environments from her other series, Liberty Masterson of Blacktop Cowboy series, Hillbilly Rockstar, appears. Shiori is living in Devin's (former resident of Sundance, Wyoming) building with the same tremendous view.
I strongly recommend Unraveled and love me some Knox.

Shiori Hirano is Ronin Black's sister and next highest rank in the dojo which is Knox Lofgren's position. Knox and Shiori can't be in the same room without having a pissing contest and not caring about the consequences. Ronin put Knox in charge of dojo during his absence to train in Japan. Knox has few ideas on how to run the dojo better and implements them. Knox goes to Twisted for much needed relief but can't seem to get any in the process. Shiori goes to Twisted as Mistress B only to be discovered by Knox. Will Knox and Shiori survive during Ronin's absence? What will they learn about each other? Your answers await you in Unraveled.
I've always been intrigued by Knox and Shiori because I couldn't see them working as a couple. So glad to be proven wrong on this count. The characters are honest, real, flawed, compelling, and down to earth. The story is character driven with elements of BDSM, martial arts, and romance. Definitely looking forward to my next adventure in this series.

This was my first Domme/ sub book and while there were some aspects of it I didn’t care for (personal preference type things) I really enjoyed the story.
Shiori and Knox are at odds with each other from day 1 and they’re constantly battling about something. I absolutely loved both of these characters and they make an amazing couple!! Their relationship grows and eventually Shiori confronts Knox about his submissive tendencies, which shocks and disgusts him at first. They eventually begin to explore a D/s relationship together and find that they are perfectly compatible.
Everything about this story was so well written. There were a few times it seemed to drag on a bit but nothing that lasted too long or really distracted me from the book.

Lorelei James is known for her smoking HOT cowboy books. She has moved on to the world of martial arts and MMA. Unraveled is Shiori Hirano and Knox Lofgren’s story. The first 2½ books feature Shiori’s brother Ronin Black but this book can be read standalone.
Knox is an Alpha male; not who you think of as submissive but Shiori aka Mistress B proves otherwise. Submissive doesn’t mean weak. This is a terrific, well told story. I fell for Knox right along with Shiori. This is the story of Knox’s submission and their growth as a couple.
I am so thrilled that Lorelei James is going to continue this series and am really looking forward to seeing Deacon fall.

Unraveled appears to be a stand alone novel of the Mastered series even though I haven't read the previous books I felt that Unraveled was a decent read. Although I don't care for submissive males it was an interesting twist to have in the story because its not overly done and at the same time Lorelei manages to write an even give in both her characters where they meet in the middle of their relationship both in and out of the bedroom. Although neither Shiori or Knox is what they appear to be on the inside, it was an interesting dynamic to watch them play off of eachother.

The constant bickering between Shiori and Knox is like a pressure cooker, and when it blows, watch out! With such uncontrollable passion they are destined to find trouble, which they most certainly do. It is exciting to see how they attack every hurdle, because for them, nothing is a given. I love how their differences and similarities are so extreme it makes the bond they share even more exceptional.

A Domme (female Dom) with a male sub was definitely different to all the other books I have about it. It was enlightening to say the list. The dynamics were explained throughly and I enjoyed the breakdown of it. I loved that it showed he was an Alpha male but at the same time, he could have submissive tendencies but those only really were shown in the bedroom.

I really could not put this book down! I enjoyed the previous two, picking them up out of curiosity about Shibari, etc.. When I first saw that this was about a Domme, I wasn’t all that excited about it. (Apparently I am a bit of a sexist - although not a proud one.) I had read another author’s book and couldn’t really get into it. Unraveled was spectacular! I loved the characters and loved their story. I learned quite a bit as well.

I have recommended this series to my friends. Which for me is huge. Simply put, I love it. Ronin, Amery, Shiori and Knox have fast become my favorite cast of characters. The dynamic between this group and as partners is amazing. The writing is just so that you totally get into the book and can see it all in your mind's eye and you're not fighting to imagine what the scene would actually look like. Seeing Knox as a sub kinda threw me and made me question if it would actually work. It totally did. Shiori isn't humiliating him or ripping away what makes him Knox. It's actually believable. I am excited to see how Hard Assed Deacon and Sweet Molly's story comes together!

Please RateUnraveled (The Mastered Series)
What I didn't like was I found the first 60% of the book slow and boring. I am never a person who thinks there is a thing as too much sex but I found myself skimming over the sex scenes just to get to the story. The sex what hot and I liked reading about a Domme relationship but it was long sex scene followed by another long sex scene very smiliar to the last, followed by another long sex scene just as smilier. So that led to the story becoming slow & boring to me, there was really no story line or drama until after 65%.
Some unrealistic things I found hard to overlook. Please don't read below for SPOILERS****
I never leave spoilers but these really bothered me. First after Shiori's car accident and she was in the ER they would have run pregnancy test as basic testing when she was brought in. Normally in stories that is where they find out things like that, I had a feeling it would happen but she was discharged pretty fast. Second, after baby was born there was NO skin to skin. These days when baby is healthy like theirs was the baby would not have been taken without even being shown to parents to be swaddled than "set the baby on the pillow on Shiori's lap"??? I work in women health and skin to skin is pretty standard everywhere now I would hope. Than it was mentioned the baby's head turned looking for food but she never mentioned she latched on with breastfeeding. You might think this was nit picking but to me just stood out.
****END of Spoilers***
So I enjoyed the last part of this book, I loved the characters and how the story played out in general with the relationship I just thought it was too slow getting to the good parts, sex scenes were all too similar, and last my nit picking spoiler which really annoyed me since I work in that field. Now I can't wait to read Deacon & Molly's story in May, I will start my preorder.
