Given the amount of stress my wife feels reading baby books, this has been amazingly helpful when I need a little humor to give to my wife who's stressing out because we didn't know she was pregnant for the first 18 weeks, didn't expect to have kids, and really can not care about the babies "colors" everyone keep asking her about.

It's just ok. Mostly humor. Some real info, but not much. I was hoping for a serious version of "What to Expect..." . If you have a spouse or friend who is expecting, if you want to know what to expect this isn't the book.

If you are actually excited about your wife bringing you a little bundle joy, don't buy this book. Providing excuses to get out of appointments with your wife, excessive beer drinking to help you cope is not what I was hoping for. I was hoping for an informative guide with a little humor to help me understand what she is going through so I can be a better husband. Not the case.

Yes it is humorous, but provided me with no useful information. I, in fact, found it somewhat offensive the way significant others are portrayed. I got about one chapter through and tossed it aside for something that would actually help me through the first pregnancy for my wife and myself.

Not really a great book for actual advice. Each chapter begins with a summary of what parents should/shouldn't go crazy buying, and quite frankly, most of what's on those lists is silly to purchase that early in a pregnancy. The author seems to want to be more frivolous and goofy with advice than serious. When you're trying to help give your husband an idea of your pregnant reality for the next 10 months, humor is definitely appreciated - but that should be lightly sprinkled in amidst the serious reality-check that is pregnancy and expectant mother-/fatherhood.

Purely for comic relief during those painful months leading up to the big day, I occasionally use this as a reference book too. See honey, according to your book I SHOULD be complaining about you this month (and every other month!)

This book was histarical! I loved every minute of it! Ladies if you do not have thick skin do not read it and men you HAVE to read it! The writing is flawless. I love the way this is funny and informative. I think it is a great way to calm down expectant fathers!

My husband thought this book was not worth buying. He was looking for an informational book similar to the "What to Expect" series that typically mothers read. Book seemed sort of like a waste of a read because it seems geared towards more of a comedic read than informational for first time dads. Sad we purchased :(

Everything to expect... when your wife is expecting! This book was a helpful tool in looking at how a husband can be supportive and understanding of the process of pregnancy; when at times the wife cannot put it into words.
