This is the absolute best English translation of the Quran. I already have one of these but anytime someone converts or wants an English Quran I give them this version. There are several different English translations and I have all of them however none par up to this one. Very well written and in sync with the Arabic Quran. I love the footnotes or explanations at the bottom of the pages.

I found that this translation is written "crisp and clear". Also the supplemental added, namely: "Arabic words and phrases explained" is welcomed!
The annotations throughout the text are also very helpful.
Thanks for this buy!

What other customers should know in consideration of this book is that the truth of the bible is verified by the Holy Qur'an and that the changes in this world going on right now are working towards all things back to how they were before.

I originally purchased this Qur'an because I wanted a hardcover copy of the Qur'an. It's easy to obtain softcover copies by e-mailing websites that promote Islam and asking them for printed resources. I recall seeing a nice hardcover copy in a Borders or Barnes & Noble some time ago, but have since forgotten the name of that title, I do remember the design however.

In all honesty, it would probably better to stick with using an online version of the Qur'an, or a softcover copy. I don't think this translation is particularly good, but I'm not qualified to talk about that. It seems that the free, non-copyrighted translations available are good enough.

This Kindle edition Qu'ran is unreadable. While the text version came with great reviews, you are much better off downloading a free copy, viewing it online, or acquiring the physical text.

So much of the book is commentary that literally pages will scroll between single sentences of the actual Qu'ranic text. Besides thumb fatigue much of the commentary comes off superciliously or pugnacious, and other parts I found to be factually incorrect; the additions are as much of the faith of the author as they are informative.

While this additional dialogue may help expand your view of the Islamic world, look elsewhere if you want a factual information of the Qu'ran and definitely save your money if you want to read the actual Qu'ran.

Best Translation and explanation of Holy Quran I have found. AS a non Arabic speaker, Christian raised American this Quran by far exceeds others with explanations and clear message of the HOLY Prophet Mohammad PBUH and his Family. My love for the Prophet and his family has grown with this edition, as well as other books I recommend https://www.the store.com/Sayed-Ammar-Nakshawani/e/B00ISH5NZE by this author are really great. The fourteen infallibles by Sayed Ammar Nakshawani is really wonderful. https://www.the store.com/Who-Hussain-Mehdi-Saeed-Hazari/dp/0986295191/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1509396258&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=who+is+huesain. Who is huesain is another great book, for those wishing to learn more about the Prophet and his family and the history of true Islam. This Quran and these books have really helped me to see the beauty of Islam as a religion of Peace and not of Hate as it has been portrayed in News etc....I buy these for all my friends who wish to learn about Quran and Islam and all the books I mentioned above.

This copy is not like the actual Maulana Quran. The footnotes are included in the Suras and Ayats. The actual quran ayata are in blue while the footnotes are in black. At times you have to go 2 multiple pages before you even come to another actually ayat. This is frustrating and could b better presented. Afterall, thi is The Quran.

I totally agree with the positive comments from the other buyers. Maulana's translation is definitely one of the best (see the bottom for an example). Unlike most other translations, it addresses God as "Allah", with total faith and respect to the original language. Maulana's language is also aesthetic in a poetic way, concise, and easy to understand.

The paper is thin and you can definitely see through them; yet they aren't very easy to break. The preview of the book shows that it was printed in Belgium, but the copy I received was printed in Korea (for some reason I don't know). The cover and binding are of good quality, yet can still get damaged in the process of shipping (which is my case), so be prepared.

Verse 2:62:

- Maulana Muhammad Ali (1917): Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good, they have their reward with their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

- Yusuf Ali (original 1934, revised 1989): Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,--any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(Revised version makes the translation less liberal and faithful since it has to adapt to modern Arab culture. You can check the review for the latest version of Yusuf's book to verify this point.)

- Ali Unal (2008): (The truth is not as they—the Jews—claim, but this:) Those who believe (i.e. professing to be Muslims), or those who declare Judaism, or the Christians or the Sabaeans (or those of some other faith)--whoever truly believes in God and the Last Day and does good, righteous deeds, surely their reward is with their Lord, and they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
(This translation is actually the best selling one on the store. well its clumsiness, bias and excessive own opinion and interpretation is pretty self-explanatory.)

I will preface this note by referring to the other comments here about how well researched this translation is and mention that probably about 900 of the 1300 pages of this volume are the translator's detailed explanations of exactly why he translated things the way he did. You'll see in other reviews as well that not only Ahmadis (the author was one of the immediately followers of the founder of the Ahmadi movement) but many others consider this to be without doubt the best translation of the Qur'an into English.

All I can say is I wish the world would read and understand the Qur'an as translated here. I am not a Muslim but a long-time student of early Christianity, and I came to read this Qur'an in an effort to try to understand the increasing number of comments by many Western scholars in recent years that, of all the world's present religions, that which probably represents Jesus' actual teachings is Islam. I can now see why they say this. Islam, as embodied in this translation of the Qur'an, is nothing short of a noble, highly ethical, and peaceful religion.

In case these comments should be seen as "Christian-bashing," I should mention that not only are Ahmadis, from whose ranks Maulana Muhammad Ali came, generally not recognized as Muslims by the bulk of Muslims, but they are even outlawed and actively persecuted in some Muslim areas. And yet, even mainstream Muslims seem to agree that this is the best translation!

In our presently very troubled world, if the scholars are correct that indeed the actual teachings of Jesus are most similar to at least Qur'anic Islam, as revealed in Maulana Muhammad Ali's translation, it would appear that Jesus' teachings are equally misunderstood by a very large number of both Christians and Muslims.
