This book is a great technical thriller and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout its entirety! I loved how the author used a virtual reality world that was intertwined with reality somewhat to change up the plotline.

I chose this rating because this book never got "great" to me. After loving the Maze Runner series I was highly disappointed. This book reminded me of a long drawn out Goosebumps novel. It left me saying so what. I probably won't be reading the others in this series.

Started out a little slow but quickly turns into a wonderful, fast read! Very eye-opening to ideas about AI & the possibilities of such technology taking over. I enjoyed being tricked to think the book was leading in one direction & following in another! :)

The book starts out with an excellent premise, but then falls short in the execution. I could get no real sense of the themes of this story and I felt the book lacked sufficient explanation for some objects and moments. I also felt that the way the characters overcame the obstacles was a bit contrived and forced. I understand that this is the first in a series so I will see where he goes from here.

Very good book, easy to read, entertaining and fun. You find yourself submerged in the story, this actually led me to read the Maze Runner, which is a 3 star compared to The Eye of Minds. Can't wait for The Rule of Thoughts (second book not out yet)!

I recommend it if you are interested in gaming or any type of futuristic approach, although I think is a great book for the average reader.

Dashner has crafted a game of twists and turns that will keep even the most gifted gamer on their toes should they dare to put down their gaming paraphernalia long enough to engage in this futuristic tale of gaming.

This is a good, not great SciFi. The construct is little too easy, and the characters a little to cookie-cutter. You'll forget this book the hour you finish it. But, you'll be (mostly) entertained while reading.

Not typically my preferred genre, but WOW! Fast moving, lots and lots of action, characters you really come to know, surprising twists and turns, scary parts, and one heck of an ending. Totally preordering the second book. Recommended to me by one of my eighth grade students.

From the Maze Runner, to the Scorch Trials, to Death Cure... this new series by James Dashner is exactly what I had hoped for. The Mortality Doctorine series will be the next up and coming best seller, I can feel it. The book never lets you rest, the excitement continues the whole book and I can't wait for the Rule of Thoughts to come out!
