How do people endure a sudden tragedy like the one the Hance family suffered? This book gives a very personal account of the aftermath this had on the individuals and on their marriage. You feel so many emotions reading this book. I also learned a little about how one can be of support just by being there. Friends, neighbors, and family rallied around and kept them going when they felt completely hopeless. It took courage to write the book and reveal so many emotions. It is also impressive that through their foundation the family continues to honor the memories of their daughters.

My heart goes out of Jackie Hance and her husband for all they endured after the senseless death of their three children. Jackie's sister in law Diane was responsible for the car accident that took the lives of their daughters. The depression that the Hances' went through was horrendous, it was during that time a fertility doctor donated his services and did IVF and it worked!! Now they have another daughter who has brought happiness back into their lives.

To see a couple overcome a tragic loss and somehow recover to not only share their story, but to move forward in life. I am AMAZED how strong Jackie & Warren are. They will ALWAYS have Emma, Alyson and Katie around them for the remainder of their lives. If it weren't for Emma, Alyson and Katie, there probably wouldn't be a Kasey Hance walking, talking, hugging and loving a mommy and daddy today. That was Emma's, Alyson's and Katie's final gift to Jackie and Warren. There are meanings in everybody's life and Jackie and Warren have been blessed with a beautiful daughter who will forever be protected by her older sisters and her loving parents. My thoughts and prayers will always be with the Hance Family as well as the Hance Family Foundation.

Please read this book and learn the miracle of forgiveness....Jackie Hance is truly a gift in todays world. Her love for her family and her husband resonates throughout her hopeful journey to heal...The grace of God did not let her down, and her faith is restored. Her friendships in Floral Park make me proud to have been a New Yorker and from Long Island.....The resilience of all is unbelievable...This is truly a book that will make you cry with sadness, and then cry with joy. Gods blessings on this incredible family, their friends, and their loved ones in heaven. Truly we will all meet again in the twinkling of an eye. Thank you Jackie and family for sharing your journey from hell with us.....Heaven is yours because you dared to live!!!

This book was very hard to read. I cannot imagine losing one child, let alone all one's children, in one fell swoop. Jackie does a great job describing the depths and heights of her grief and her recovery. I admire her for her ability to finally get on with her life, and her courage to have another child. Good book.

Having lost a granddaughter almost 3 1/2 years ago, just one month shy of her 14th birthday, I could feel the pain and anguish of not only Jackie and Warren, but also of Jackie's mother. Her mother's loss is felt on 2 levels, not only has there been a loss of grandchildren but she also felt the loss and heartache felt by her own daughter. With that said, I found several parts of Jackie's telling of the story to be extremely moving and helpful. Her explanation of how she learns to cope holds the promise of hope and help for others that have lost a child or children. I felt her strength and also her weakest moments throughout her telling of this tragic event and how she takes the steps necessary to move forward in living once again. I'm sure her girls are smiling down on her, their dad and Kasey.

THIS BOOK REALLY HIT HOME. ANYONE WITH CHILDREN WILL FEEL THE SAME, I AM SURE. EVERY NIGHT, GOING TO SLEEP I PRAYED FOR THE FAMILY. IT WAS SO BRAVE OF Jackie HANCE TO WRITE THIS BOOK. SO BRAVE. WHEN MY SON GOT JUVENILE DIABETES, I STOPPED WRITING. COULDN'T WRITE FOR MANY YEARS. THIS BOOK PROVED THAT I SHOULD HAVE KEPT WRITING AND WILL DO SO AGAIN. IF YOU ARE A PARENT, READ THIS BOOK BUT BE READY FOR A HEART WRENCHING STORY THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS. EVEN THOUGH YOU THINK YOU'VE FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT AND MOVEDF ON TO ANOTHER BOOK, THIS ONE WILL COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN.

I will never forget the news account of this story and now the true story in Jackie Hance's own words is forever in my heart. You feel her pain in your own soul. Ask yourself, what if a trusted and loved member of your family was responsible for the death of all of your precious children? How would you cope? The answer is a complex one and told with stark realism and honesty. If you have children or love children, this is a must read.

As a mother to a child with severe medical issues who has outlived the life expectancy that the doctors gave her by almost 10 years, I was hesitant to read what Jackie Hance wrote. I knew it would delve into her pain, heartbreak and loss & as I know one day those feelings will inevitably be mine, I did not want to hear any graphic details from a mother talking of the loss of her child(ren). But, knowing the story was about more than grief I purchased it & read it in one sitting. I am so very glad that I did! Mrs. Hance sharing such personal feelings, thoughts, actions as well as her pain & devastation helped me in so many ways. Thanks to her I am no longer waiting for my tragedy to strike and wasting precious time and emotions but living each day to the absolute fullest. And, gosh how I wish I had a trio of amazing girlfriends like Jackie is blessed to have. Not to mention a wonderful husband. As my marriage did not survive with just having a chronically ill baby, it warmed my heart to read that no matter how low they got as a couple that they persevered and are still together! NOW ABOUT THE BOOK IN A NON PERSONAL REVIEW....It was very well written and very, very in depth. She shared so much more than I expected her to. I believe she has helped most everyone in need of any who read her book. And, what an amazing tribute to ALL FOUR of her girls going into such depths exclaiming the love, devotion and care she has for them all. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE...NOT JUST WOMEN AND MOTHERS BUT EVERYONE WHO READS AGES 18-80!!! So....buy it, borrow it, whatever...just read it!

Factual account of the loss of all 3 young daughters of Jackie Hance in the tragic New York Taconic Expressway crash. Eight lives lost in total. Jackie's van was driven by her trusted sister-in-law, who died at scene and blood tests revealed was drunk and high. Heartbreaking story of unimaginable loss, stages of grief, and the love and support of an entire town. The most unforgetable and inspirational book I've ever read. God bless Jackie and Warren Hance, and their miraculous new baby girl.

I have really enjoyed this book written so openly and with very real honesty. Sometimes I became annoyed at Jackie for being so mean to her husband but who can ever know how to handle such incredible grief. I cannot even go there or imagine. I lost a brother at 26..... My buddy. For a year I was on auto pilot going through my duties but not living. I grieved so hard & long.....but to lose my children.......I cannot fathom.
I am so happy for the peace that Jackie & Warren have found with Kacey. What a blessing. May you all have a very happy future.........

Outstanding book. My heart goes out to the Hance family. I cannot imagine the heartbreak of losing 3 precious children. Thank you for sharing, your heartfelt story. Also, what a great support system you had in your friends. Still amazed at the doctor's generosity. What a rare but wonderful act of kindness. Many prayers for your entire family. You will someday be reunited with your precious daughters. Thank you for sharing your story.

Outstanding story of dealing with a loss so great it is hard to imagine. And yet through the pain and anguish there emerges hope. The inspiration to enrich the lives of other children and their families keeps their three girls' memories alive. A must read for anyone and . especially those dealing with the loss of a loved one. A beautiful way to keep their memory alive .......until we meet again.

Jackie Hance's story of loss, unimaginable forgiveness and ultimately newfound happiness in the face of extreme sadness is a must read for anyone who has ever lost a loved one to tragedy. Her honesty and the wonderful testament to her three beautiful daughters is absolutely amazing. Never have I ever been quite so touched by any book. I will never forget these girls nor their story.

I cried so many times throughout this book. I can't imagine the pain and suffering Mrs. Hance has endured. I've always wondered how she made it through this tragedy and now reading this book I know it was barely. This book is also a beautiful tribute to her beautiful daughters. Never forgotten and always loved. R.I.P. E.A.K.

The book is very emotional though is written extremely well. I can't imagine how this family went through such a horrible tragedy and yet survived and kept the faith and love for each other. I appreciate the author writing this it could not be easy but maybe therapeutic in many ways.

One of my favorite books...why? Because I lost my son and this book gives me hope that you can survive your worst nightmare. I have read plenty, but this one is highest on my list. It is about a real woman who was courageous enough to share her nightmare with us....I wonder if she realizes the profound effect on people provided by sharing her real story without any sugar coating...I hope she does! E - A - K - K must be so very proud of their mommy's spirit...oh, and the incredible spirit of her awesome friends....GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Jackie and Janice!

Sad but true and a cautionary tale about really getting to know in who's care we place our children. When I raised my child I didn't think this way but now we have to. I love this family, the whole family, and wish them peace. The book takes you through the harrowing day of the tragedy and the long hopeless days and months after. It's Jackie's pain we feel and then there's hope. This is a lovely sweet book.

Read about the author in People Magazine. Just had to read the book to understand how she dealt with such a loss. Brought me to tears many times and just shows how the support of friends can carry a person through their darkest hours. This book is a must read and it is a blessing.

This is a truly inspiring book to read. The mother in this story just leaves me in awe. I know she didn't feel brave
at the time, but I really believe she is. I think it helped her to write her story. Was so happy she decided to have
another baby.

Very well written.
I can not imagine going through what she did. Breathing was not always easy for Jackie but with the help of her husband and friends ... she grew and because she grew, they welcomed Kasey. Here's to a very bright future and many happy times.

Received this book on Friday and read it over the weekend. I could not put it down. I am amazed at Jackie's strength in telling such a personal story. She allows her readers to see her beautiful daughters Emma, Aly, and Katie as real people, not just a byline in a tragic story. In the midst of tragedy, you see great depths of love, friendship, forgiveness, and hope.

Unbelievable memoir. I could not put this book down. The grief and trauma that this family must have gone through is profound and unspeakable. Very sad and tragic event. Hard to read because of the emotional impact but very real.

This book was wonderfully written. The strength to go on in this tragedy was truly from God. I don't know what I would do if I lost all my children at one time. They had such amazing friends who shared their loss with them and helped them through those tough times.

This mom's endurance shone through in her writing. The tragedy that hit her family could have struck any of us and God only knows how any of us would have or could have survived it.
Jackie's honesty about her feelings of pain, anger, despair and hope will inspire and help millions. She is blessed to be surrounded by such good friends. God bless her, Warren, Kasey, Emma, Alyson, and Katie.

I think everyone at one time has wondered how they would react to the unthinkable--the loss of your child. This book painfully gives us insight into the grief and darkness that overcomes a parent when they experience this nightmare from which they cannot awaken. As a mother and grandmother, I am counting my blessings, and praying for the many victims of this real life tragedy.

This story has captivated me since it happened. A truly inspirational story. Now that I have my own child reading this account of such a horrific accident chilled me to the bone. May God Bless the Hance family! I read this in 1 day it was that good.

Jackie writes about the friends who are family, the friends who are friends, and family members bearing her up in the aftermath of three daughters lost in a car accident. It seems belief in God can not prevail in light of such tragic loss, but then, Jackie shares how friends and family stayed with her throughout the tormenting days, weeks, months, and years, bringing her sustenance physically (prepared meals for a whole year), emotionally (i.e.,Tuesdays with Karen), spiritually (her prayer group)and a thousand other ways she was borne from insane grief to life and faith renewed. The telling of this story and the hope it inspires is a gift from Jackie and Warren to each and everyone of us.

This is a beautifully written book. The pain, heartache, and love that this family experiences everyday is overwhelming. This book stayed with me for days, I couldn't stop thinking about it. It made me, sad, happy, angry, and just took over all of my emotions. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good memoir. You will ache for the Hance family but will also feel so much gratitude for what you have in your life and how we should never take a day for granted and how life is a precious gift.

It's unbelievable to me how parents can survive the loss of ALL of their children in a split second. It takes courage and unbelivable strength to not only keep going, but to actually write about it. This book brought me to tears and made me smile many times. It's one I will not forget.
