Pronto: A Novel

This is for fans of the TV hit "Justified". This book ends where "Justified" begins. If you like that show, you'll love this book and the adventures of Raylin Givens..the no-nonsense US Marshall. This book is a fun, entertaining read. It leaves you wanting more. I'm a Leonard fan for life.

This is a great character driven read, with a typical try Elmore Leonard humor. I never saw the TV series, but I did like to book. The Italian gansters are real Italians, the "Zip" is a real Mafioso, nicley off set the all American Rylan. It keeps you interested to the end and if you are looking for a new read, I highly recommend it. I normally like Elmore Leonard's pulp Westerns (they are charcter driven just likes L. Ron Hubbard' Westerns) and Pronto, even though not a Western, is similarly captive with real characters you can identify with.Pronto: A Novel

Wanted to check out "minimalist" authors in my genre - mystery and had not read Leonard. Good example of the venue. Not particularly my first choice in a storyline, but certainly excellent writing and a good example of minimalist writing form.

I bought this because I enjoyed the TV show "Justified" so much. The story isn't interesting, the dialogue clunky. I had to force myself to finish it and when I got to the end, it was a huge disappointment.
