Joe Pickett novels have that certain difference from all the others because they are located in the Wyoming wilds with rugged natural elements affecting the outcome of his investigations. If you like living/visiting in the mountain west and love crime/mystery novels you'll love anything written by C.J.Box. Blood Trail leaves you guessing to the end.

He is courageous, empathetic, a deeply commited family man who loves and appreciates life. Reading his adventures it is easy to imagine the broad range of land he travels because Box's writing is so descriptive,

Joe continues getting involved where he probably shouldn't even be close to the situation. However, with his natural ability to figure out what is really going on versus what appears to be happening, Joe comes out on top. Really good, entertaining read.

Joe Pickett is one of my favorite characters and the stories are compelling. I still don't understand the mother in law thread and it's painful reading about raising teen age girls. tHe guy has enough problems with poachers and murderers.

I enjoy the description of the characters and the manner in which CJ Box's writing makes you feel as if you are there. It is hard to put down once you begin. Descriptions of the area are also true to form - the story fits with Wyoming and Montana perfectly.

C.J. Box delivers a winner with Blood Trail. The book continues the saga of Joe Pickett and his family while giving readers a front row seat to another one of the "hot button" issues in the west. Easy to read, informative, and suspenseful. There are also enough red herrings to keep the reader guessing - I didn't figure out who had done it until near the very end.
