I still felt like something was lacking and I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe it was just too short or maybe it felt like the last couple of chpaters were smooshed together. It has romanace, (love quadrangle? Jack Mimi Oliver Sky), action (though it's just the last couple of chapters) and more character development. Some unexpected twists and turns for sure. The "Silver Blood" is revealed and I'm not sure how I feel about that either. The book was good but it keeps you thinking and it definitely made me unsure of how I feel about the end of the book.

I started reading blue bloods about a month ago and have become totally hooked on this series. This book is a little darker than the first two and may not be as geared towards young teens. In fact, I was feeling a little depressed after finishing the story last night. Someone had mentioned that Target has a secret chapter from the author. I just read it and I feel much better about the ending. To read it go to bluebloodbook.com/target and enter BLUEBLOODS, but do not read it until you have finished the book as it deals with the final chapter. Melissa de la Cruz has definitely written a page turner and I look forward to her next book.

Okay just finished! Let's just say that this book was definitely a far cry from others written today (cough, cough Breaking Dawn). It wasn't full of a bunch of self satisfying crap, it had a lot of give and take, something that makes good books great books. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Twilight series as much as the next person, but lets just say that in my mind the series ended with Eclipse. I went through a lot to get this book (jumped a fence in tight jeans and flip-flops, walked two miles, went to five stores...), more than I have for any other book, and I can say that it was worth every second, though now I'm in withdrawals (book addiction) I CAN'T wait for the next one. My only complaint is that this book was a short one... finished in one three hour sitting, no bathroom breaks (hehe). I won't say much about the book yet because a large majority of people haven't read it and I don't want to spoil it from them, but if you're interested in discussing the book further just send me a message or e-mail me at [...]

This was certainly the best of the series so far! I also agree that putting off reading it might be a good idea because it will leave you wanting more. The character development and the twists and everything made this probably one of my favorite books period.
I Also liked the Twilight series very much, but these books oddly are a little more grown up I feel. I believe in the first book the character of Mimi was refered to as 16 going on 30, but really that was like almost every character. I don't know if it was because they're smart/rich NYC kids or what... I know I'd never be able to drink whatever I wanted when I was 15 at public places!!
I also liked some of the fashion references in the first book, but wasn't too sad there was much less in this book. Also happy there are no bad references to Buffy like in the first. (buffy never used silver stakes on vampires.. she used wood and the only 'silver stakes kill vampire' reference i know is Blade, which sucks in comparision)
Anyway, I recommend getting the third book in Target as well. The secret chapter takes place right before the epilogue. I'm surprised it wasn't put in the actual book, it gave a slight bit more closure to a certain relationship.

Revelations is Melissa De La Cruz's third Blue Blood novel. Blue Bloods are fallen angels, exiled to earth as vampires as punishment for rising against God. In the latest "cycle" the most powerful figures are teenagers, and face a world of tension and deceit as they are figuring out who they are and how they fit into the larger power structure of the 400. In Revelations the problems escalate, and characters are developed in interesting ways. It is a satisfying installment in the series.

Bought this book wednesday and finished it in less than 24 hours! It was so good it was hard to put it down when I went to my college classes. Out of all the 'Blue Blood' books this is my favorite so far. The author is definitely very talented. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE TO COME OUT!
Anyone who likes vampire stories, angel stories, and so on will love this book. :)

After reading the first two books, I believed Revelations would be the last in the series. To my dismay, the author decided to not end this book and make it clear she is writing a fourth book, maybe even more. Oh great! Another way to make money just keep on rolling out the crap Cruz. I have lost my respect for this author. She had such a strong idea and played with it well in the first two books, but she could have cut so much unnecessary scenes and description in this book and she could have ended the series SO easily. Come on! Her series is starting to look like the 'Twilight' disaster 'cause Breaking Dawn was just as crappy as this one.

As seems to be the trend with this series, Revelations is a tad shallow. I would love for a little more time to be devoted to character development and exploration as well as to plot development. There are so many great ideas here; I think they could be expanded upon a bit. With that said, it's still a great book that is definitely worth reading.

So good!!! Some of the scenes are absolutely amazing!!! I LOVE jack. This book seriously puts my head in a spin. It's really hard to figure if someone is really a bad guy or not. Totally dislike Mimi and her snotty ways. I don't know what to do with myself while waiting for 4 to come out.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the twist and turns that was thrown at us, but was very sad about the ending. I know that it was cleared up that Jack and Mimi pretty much have to end up together, but it still makes me frustrated. I read the online chapter after I finished the book and that made me want to cry. It seems like no matter what she does, Schuyler is not going to be able to have a truly satisfying love life. Yeah sure she loves Oliver, but I feel like it is more of a brotherly love. But on the other hand I think she deserves the guilt she gets from Oliver since she marked him without loving him in the true romantic way knowing now he will not be able to love anyone else. Its so messed up. I feel bad for all of them. I think that is why I love the stories so much. They get your thoughts and emotions tied up every characters life.
I definitely recommend this book, and this series.

This book gets more complicated. Its one of the books were you really have to pay attention to detail other wise you might miss something. Its been awhile since i read the last book so it got kind of confusing at first. I just hate that her books always end on action. But over all it was a good book

I thoroughly enjoyed the previous twp books to this series, and maybe I was expecting a bit more oomph with this latest book.. well I was just a bit disappointed. It seemed a very slow read in the beginning and while it did answer a few questions, I was still left asking many more. Hopefully this isn't the end of the series and the next book will be a lot more exciting. I still would recommend this book especially if you've read the previous two. Just don't expect the same page-turning, exciting reads of the others.

My daughter loves this series, but I decided after reading this book, that I'm done with it. It seems to just sit on the same theme, with the same characters without much growth or change. The same angst from the beginning of the story to this one. It's just taking too long for the characters to grow and learn from the past and to just "move on!"

Although the story was moderately pleasing, it was quite short. I believe the book is not worth the money.
It had a very intriguing plot, but De La Cruz did not do justice to the series. After reading the book, there was a sense of incompleteness and disappointment. De La Cruz often ends her books with interesting cliffhangers, but book 3 just did not live up to her other works.
Just hope that the book 4 is better than this one!

Revelations was the most interesting book in the series so far it twists and turs aroud all of your thoughts you think you know exactly what is going to happen then BAM you dicover something crazy. When Schuyler has to make all these desicions about Jack and Oliver you have no idea what is going to happen. i got so addicted to the book that i read it in less than a day it truly is an amazing book!!!

I thought that the third book in the blue bloods seris was quite good with the return of my favorite character Dylan, and it also had some really good twists (i mean who would have EVER guessed that). but it was quite short and it left you with more questions then it answered. I did like how Schuyler relized her love for oliver at the end (i've been waiting for that forever) because i know most people don't but i actually like Mimi and Jack together, i don't really exactly know why that is.

I loved this book though I disliked the end.
Reading the secret chapter made it alot easier to take.
P.S.: If you don't like the end either find the Secret Chapter online and read it, it helps.

I was never too much into "Blue Bloods" series, but at least first two books were easy to read. This third one took a lot of effort to finish. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that the only thing I was attracted to in Cruz's book was the vampire lore. If in the beginning the lore seemed fresh and original to me, I am now fairly certain Cruz makes stuff up as she goes, without big picture of her world in mind, and this is why I am constantly confused.
There are supposedly 400 Blue Bloods in the entire world, but some of them I understand were destroyed and consumed by Silver Bloods in Rome centuries ago, so how many are actually left? Enough to populate half of the Duchesne school (and those are only kids), have whole families of them in Texas, Italy, Japan, Brazil, NYC, etc., then there are Venators and their teams, Blue Bloods who refuse to reincarnate (like Lawrence) and lets don't forget, 90% of the models are Blue Bloods too. Where does it end? What are the limits of this world?
The lore gets invented along the way just to explain some random events without ever being mentioned later on: apparently now vamps can morph into animals and even fog, but then why does Mimi have to follow her brother/bondmate in her black Bentley; vamps can cross states in minutes, then why do Schyler and Jack have their meetings in Manhattan where everybody knows them and they don't even bother to fog themselves up or something; vampires live on blood, but spend thousands of dollars on meals they apparently don't have any taste for; vampires can devour books within seconds and yet they fret over passing their school exams.
I know, I must be nitpicking and there is some kind of convoluted explanation for each and every question of mine, but I guess I simply don't care for the books any more and not inspired to dig any deeper in the lore. There is only so much interest I can have for fallen angels whose aspirations in their immortal lives are limited to parties, pilates, cellulite treatments and modeling

This series has a lot going for it, an interesting take on Vampires/Angel, immortals who can die but are reborn thru reincarnation. The previous two books were excellent, and this one has its moments, but just sort of seems to talk around the issues, rather than meet them head on. The last little bit of the book is really good but it is way to short: the battle scenes at the party and at the Redeemer, as well as the 'make up hook-up' between the twins at the end. It has fewer of those breezy Gossip Girl moments that brought a lot of the humor to the previous books in the series, but really misses some chances to replace it with some real emotional connection. This is probably a 3 1/2 more than a 4, but benefit of the doubt and encourage others to pick up on this series, so we can hopefully get some more/longer additions to the series.
