Let me start off by saying that two things I rarely like in a story are a heroine who lies through most of the book and a heroine who dresses like a man and actually fools people. These plot devices usually don't work for me and turn me off to a story. However, this book had both of these elements and pulled them off admirably in my opinion! This was a fun story, faithful enough to the original but with plenty of fun twists and adaptations. The heroine was strong and easy to like. The hero was great as well! There was more action than romance, but the romance was believable and well developed. Well done!

I love how this was reimagined to focus more on Cinderella's personality and tenacity. It's extremely creative and a fun read. Plus, it sends a great message about her worth as a person, not just a beautiful woman.

This is my first time doing a review for a book and I must say I picked a good one. I enjoy an adventure book and this had that and more. "Cinders" was a well balance of action, adventure, and romance. The author didn't make the main female character a wimpy and helpless female who is hopeless in love. I also enjoyed the fact that her supporting character, the prince, wasn't an arrogant prick. I feel this was a well done spin on Cinderella. It made me wish there was a book two it was so good. I am looking forward to more works done by this author.

The author has a good storyline and characters. I was prepared to be skeptical, but enjoyed the new take on an old tale. Much prefer a strong Cinderella and a prince with reason to love her and respect her.

Being nice. The repetitive parts associated with the tournaments were let's just say less than enthralling. As with many authors there is a tendency to quickly tie everything together over the last few pages

I love this story! The idea that Cinderella is a heroine who protects the prince instead of just a pretty maid. My only problem is that it ended so quickly. I know it was told from fairy godmother's perspective but I wished for a bit more than the abruptness it had.

Best retelling of a fairy tale that I've read. Ella smart and daring. Even more refreshing, not only is Prince Charming handsome, but he respects and admires her and he's not stupid! So thankful for characters that are intelligent and a Prince who isn't just another pretty face.

Thank you for writing a Cinderella story with adventure. I loved how Ella and her brother was able to take care of herself and others.
I enjoyed the story of how Ella and Prince Henry met. Such a great story!

I loved that the story was told from the point of view of the fairy -godmother. It explained a lot of the missing facts of how Cinderella became Cinderella. It also shows how strong she was and how brains, and determination, with love can help a person in life

This book shows how amazing women can be if they believe. The author of this book (Finley Aaron) has made Cinderella into an empowering woman while still making her a REAL person with real life challenges. I absolutely recommend you read this book if you like strong women leaders and family love.

I loved this version of cinderella, it's now my favorite retelling. I loved that the fairy godmother was the narrator, she was very insightful on ella's life. Amazing swordfights, and an awesome view of how she was raised.

I'm really struggling with this one. It took me 3 days to read the first two chapters because the narration is just not captivating. The fairy godmother seems like a cute character, but I'm just not getting into the story she's telling. It feels more like a batty old woman rambling on about nothing I care about and I'm.just trying to subtly slip away to get away from her. I skipped ahead several chapters to where it seemed the narration was easier to read but I've lost too much story in between so I just can't get into it. I'm gonna save it and try again later. I've just come off of a great Peter pan retelling g so maybe that's making things harder right now. I'm sorry, I tried to love it but I just can't right now

Everyone has always wondered why the prince fell in love with Cinderella after only one ball, and this book has the answers! The entire story is clean written (aka no cuss words or anything bad like that) and is jammed packed with action. The author clearly knew what she was writing about when she talks about the swordplay and tournaments of the middle ages, and you are always entertained. I loved this book to peices!!!!!

Unlike any Cinderella story ever told! Ella is strong, courageous, and wise beyond her years. She doesn't win over the prince with her beauty in this tale, but with her heart and character. Excellent book for middle school and older. I love clean, well-written, fairy tales and this is one!

It's a different take on Cinderella. Thought it was a fun read. Was not too fond of the first person fairy godmother narration but once you get past that the story takes on a life off its own. She's strong, brave and no ones fool. She's as much the savior of the story as prince charming.

I really enjoyed this book. It was slow at first but got better as the story unfolds. I loved how the author gave Cinderella some badass quality. Plus, I find the love story between her and the prince more realistic and natural.

I always hated how a lot of the stories from the past make the women out to be weak and frivolous this is a wonderful Recreation of the favorite story that makes Cinderella a lot stronger and braver and a lot funner worth reading over and over again

The fairy godmother took some adjusting for me to like because of her endless expletives that were complete nonsense. I found it very annoying in the beginning. There was so much of that on the prologue that I actually put the book aside for several days while I read other material. I eventually got back to this last night because I've always loved fairy tales and because I loved Finley Aaron's dragon series so much. I'm so glad I gave it another try. This was a wonderful story full of action, adventure, personal growth and a prince worthy of the title. Ella, was everything Cinderella was and should have been. This is a version of the fairy tale that want my daughter and granddaughter to read. A winner.

I’m very much a lover of sheroine books- where the girl kicks butt, and saved the day, but also has a feminine side and a love story! This book delivered that and so much more! I quite love this version more than the original!

We all know the basic plot of this story. .. no surprises there. And yet, the author has taken the framework of a classic tale and has woven it into a delightful and fascinating adventure fantasy. There were interesting twists and turns that I really enjoyed that gave some hints of an epic tale. While it all ended with the expected HEA, the storyline was anything but. Looking forward to reading more of the author's work.

I can honestly find no fault in this. This book was truly amazing. I could literally right a 10-page essay just sing the book's praises, but I won't. I strongly encourage anyone who thought Cinderella deserves a bit more, please read this?

It was a very well timed story that left you feeling the ups and down of what Cinderella was going though as a girl turning in to the woman behind the story. I loved that she was give interest that seem like total opposite of what we know of Cinderella but made the story really flow and show that there is always more to the story then what we know.

I had serious reservations about the concept of this book because of how ingrained the story of Cinderella is in all of our minds. How wrong I was. Finley Aaron's use of a well known fairy tale as the background didn't at all distract from the wonderful story he spun. Well done Mr. Aaron, well done.

It took me a little while to get into this book, but once I did, I couldn't put it down! I love the way Cinderella's character was developed as well as the growing relationship between her and the prince. Such an awesome spin on one of my favorite fairy tales.

This was a fun and interesting retelling of Cinderella. I loved that the heroine was able to take care of herself. It finally makes the fairytale something that I can really enjoy rather than a simmering maiden who needs Prince Charming to rescue her.

I had never heard of this writer before, but she did a great job with this Cinderella retelling. This story has more of a "girl warrior" slant, with some humor and light romance. Overall, I was impressed with her depiction of the battle scenes. They were more well-written than other fantasy authors I've read

This book is magical to read with your daughter. I highly recommend it! And so does my daughter!!!! What an imaginative back story that empowers young girls to not be just princesses but heroes of their own stories.

One of the most inspiring stories I have had the pleasure of reading. A main character based on her strength and quick wit rather than flashy looks. A girl who conquers the worst things life throws at her.
I love this book.

This is probably my favorite Cinderella retelling yet! I have always thought that the story was farfetched with the prince falling in love with Cinderella at first sight. Changing the name Cinderella from an insult to a name to live up was a perfect idea! This is a Cinderella retelling that is clean, wholesome, and exciting to read! I definitely recommend it!

I don't normally write reviews, but this book is hands down the best version of Cinderella that I've had the pleasure of reading! It is delightfully original in its approach to the classic tale. The main characters have emotional depth, and grow as the story develops. If you're looking for a new twist to a tired tale, then read this book.
