Exactly what it claims to be, Orconomics is a tongue-in-cheek spoof on the modern fantasy genre that still manages to include strong helpings of character development and original worldbuilding. I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of the series!

Orconomics was a surprisingly refreshing twist on the pulp fantasy fiction reading list I usually enjoy. Full of tongue-in-cheek satire set in a familiar fantasy backdrop, the pacing and action kept me reading while enjoying every page. The characters all have their own nuances and reasonable depth, and the overall plot was a great re-spin on the tried and true formula. Very much looking forward to the next book.

A fantastic story that plays on old fantasy tropes with puns for econ nerds and d&d nerds alike. The humor, compelling story and characters who felt like real flawed heroes made this into a fast favorite of mine.

In my (admittedly) limited experience,I do not find many good examples of satirical fantasy. Mr. Pike's work fits the bill. It is entertaining, funny, and timely. The narrative structure is sound, and his characters are relatable, even when they are not human. Highly recommended!

What a great book!
Combines fantasy with economics, and of course comedy.
The Kindle app had been recommending this book to me for while, but the description really didn't sound very interesting, too bad because it doesn't do the book any justice at all.
I laughed often and enjoyed the story. Hope to see a sequel coming out soon.

Very entertaining. The juxtaposition of modern economics into a D&D setting is well done. The author is brave with the treatment of his characters that there was a bit of a roller coaster ride. This would make a worthwhile series on Netflix or the store.

This book was a spur of the moment purchase before a camping trip. After the first page, I was hooked and could barely put it down. On a five day hike in the Rockies, I read through this book twice, and found it just as funny the second time.

This series is a very fun take on fantasy fiction. It manages to both mock and embrace the tropes of the genre, a tricky task. I really enjoyed all of the books in this series, as well as the author's other work. More!!!

What a WONDERFUL find! Anyone who loves fantasy (especially those of us who've played a few RPGs) or satire, or both, will get a kick out of this.
The humor's top notch, yes. But--and I note I'm not the first reviewer to say this, so take it from us--part of the joy of this book is the fact that the story is solid, the worldbuilding is phenomenal, the concept is unique and welcome in a genre that tends to veer more towards thees and thous and moneyless nobility, and it is STILL FUNNY.
Mr. Pike does everything right here. Yeah, you got it, everything. Every single character is well-drawn, the relations between the fantasy races are complex and believable, and the main character's struggle to regain (or reject) the life he once lived rings true and sympathetic even when his actions are questionable.
God, well done. I'm trying to spin this out like I have anything to say other than the fact that I am so utterly, utterly impressed I'm going to recommend this to everyone I know who might like it, but I just said that, so I guess my spinning's at an end.
If you aren't reading this book right now, well, what on Arth are you waiting for?

I went into this book expecting a light fantasy comedy. What I got instead was a fantasy comedy with some surprisingly well-developed characters, darkly comedic plot elements, and a solid plot. It was far better than I expected, and I eagerly await the sequel.
