The Artist's Way Workbook

The Artist's Way Workbook is a valuable companion to the Artist's Way. The Workbook could be used alone but I'm using it in conjunction with the Artist's Way book. I've done the Artist's Way program a number of times, but this is my first use of the Workbook. I'm finding that using the Workbook deepens and enhances the Artist's Way experience for me.

Julia's devotion to preaching about "god's" power makes me gag. If you can get thru it, then you'll find the "good" stuff, not the "god" stuff. Julia could have used other names which would be less distracting for us non-believers.

Highly recommend this book. This book helped push me to believe in myself and to erase the fears & doubts to become a published author. Inspiring and just an awesome book. -Susie Larimore author of Caroline's Destiny and Caroline's Legacy the best is yet to come.

I bought this as a supplement to the book because I was leading a class on it. It turns out the workbook is only a big version of places for people to do their exercises each week that are already part of the book. Unless you really want to have a generic journal where you write out the exercises, I recommend sticking with the book and then finding your own journal or place to do the exercises, as usually not all of them appeal to every one each week. But if you're wanting everything to match, then go ahead and buy it. Not necessary or helpful for my group, but I guess it could be for you or yours.

This book gives budding/aspiring writers the ways and means to create their best work. I know that the daily writing inspires me to keep on track and disciplines me to be consistent. The exercises are easy to follow; the instructions are clear. This is an inspiring book.

This is supposed to be an accompaniment to the book, The Artist's Way, but other than serving as a reference or a second copy of the tasks of the book, I have found little use for it. I guess it gives space for the exercises, but there is not enough added material to justify the purchase.

I started working with the suggestions, which are easy to follow. It is exciting to realize there are so many people which have had a lot of succes using it, and are sharing thoughts in special "Artist Way" meet ups. It's like a snowball.

Though the writer's information given in this step-by-step instructive work regarding the creative process may have been helpful in the '80s, IMO it's no longer fresh. Plus, the continual returns to reliance on a higher power is slightly annoying and something more akin to an Alcoholics Anonymous text than to a text presented to a more general public.
