This book shows you through the hindsight of history what the bible writers and prophets themselves could not see. By analyzing the spiritual conflict between God and Satan in history, it reveals what is in store for the future. It also takes you beyond history and into eternity and the earth made new. It leaves you with the firm understanding that whatever has happened or will happen, it will all be worth it in the end for those of faith.

We are living in very serious times globally: E.G. White's inspired writings have been accurate and proven to be authentic for many years. Reading this book will encourage you to have a closer walk with God and explains many of the answers to prophecies found in the Bible.

This book covers from the reformation period to the 2nd coming of Christ. The historical part was really interesting and the author inserts so much good advice and moral lessons that it really is life changing if you put it in to practice.

The Great Controversy is a behind the scenes look at the Passion of God for his children from the time of Christ to the restoration of all things. Behind all the play and counterplay of human history there is a Devine Plan, a plan that will elinimate evil, death and suffering and that offers it's victorious climax to all mankind.

I like the history and so helpful in understanding the Dark Ages and the Reformation. The prophecies of Christ's second coming and the end of the world is made very clear. I really had to focus and study hard to comprehend all the information. This is a good study book along with Old Testament prophecies and Revelation.

This series including The Great Controversy gives the trueth concerning that 'old old story,' the Gospel. Many of those who consider themselves Christain don't really have an understanding of what the Bible says or how to apply it's principles today. Ellen White seems to have had a pipeline to this understanding. These books are read around the world with the Great Controversy preferred second only to the Bible. Be blessed!

For some reason the original work by Ms. White has been abridged into watered-down versions, of which this is one. Make sure you get the original--it is one of the great Christian books out there. This version pales in comparison. It doesn't deserve four stars, but White deserves nothing less. Get the original or don't bother.

Thank you Seven Day Adventist's for sharing this with me.
Now I pass it on to whoever is interested in learning about the history of the Church and how the Sabbath was changed.
The fourth commandment is still there!

It reviews the history of Jehovah's people through the ages. It reveals what the future holds for every believer and non believer. It strengthened my faith in Jehovah God. He always reveals His plans through His prophets. He has done it this time through Ellen White.

This is a very complete history of Christianity. It takes over where Acts ends. I learned so much about where the traditions of the past and the present originated. Satan is alive and well on Planet Earth.

The theme of the Bible is the conflict between good and evil. More specifically the conflict is between Jesus Christ and Satan, as it is played out between the followers of what is good and the followers of evil. This book traces the development of that conflict within Christianity from shortly before the Crucifixion of Christ until His Second Coming. The historical part of the book goes until the middle 1800s. The last part brings together Second Coming prophecies from the Bible to describe how history will repeat itself as we approach the end of this world as we know it. The

This book explains a good portion of the battle between good and evil (Jesus and Satan) and how the (true) Sabbath was not ever changed by Jesus. Ellen White goes on to say how the Roman catholic church instituted Sunday worship and many documents have been found to their admitting Jesus never said to change it (for does God not say "I change not! ?) For those who have a hard time understanding scripture, this book makes it into a readable and understandable documents by using the VERY words of scripture.

This is another very excellent book of history with emphasis on the spiritual battle between good and evil, based entirely on the Bible, with the author adding inspired comments that help explain Bible passages.

This wonderful book must be read by every human being in this planet. There is so much light, from earth history to a glorious new earth. This book brought tears to my eyes many times. It show me that there is a better world waiting for me and that God's love is eternal. I did learn about Christ's redeeming love and His power. By reading this book, I have come to understand that I have to be prepared for the judgment day and for Jesus' second coming which is very near. Thank you so much for the printing of this great book.

This book is wonderful. It is a great historical book about this on-going controversy between CHRIST and satan, how to overcome satan, and how the controversy will end. This is a must have book for anyone who wants to be an overcomer and make it to heaven.

This is a very well written book...the Bible through the eyes of not only a great writer, but a very spiritual woman who "saw" things as they were through the words of the already written Bible. She adds highlights, innuendos, and details that we would probably never think of, just reading through scripture a verse at a time.
I would suggest this for any student of the Bible, or of Christianity in general.

Captivating reading, though I disagree with some of Ms. White's interpretations of scripture, particularly revelation. But the book was a real page turner and kept me up past my bedtime many nights. Her writing style is very intelligent and articulate. I am glad I found this book.
