Again, I wasn't disappointed with this next book in the series. We were introduced to new characters over in England and a fun cold case. I loved everything about this book. The pace was perfect. A great round-up of possible suspects. And Lee obviously put in a lot of research. I love the period dress descriptions and historical details. Just enough to make the world real. If you do love Agatha Christie, then this series is for you!

On their second day on English soil, Ginger and Haley discover a ten year old corpse in Gingers family home. Out to solve the mystery they are teamed up again with Inspector Basil Reed whether he wants the help or not. The author gives such detailed information about the clothing and customs you can literally feel like you are in 1923. Quality writing makes these books very good.

I'm truly enjoying this light hearted and exceptionally well written murder mystery series. My life has plenty of weighty events, so relaxing with a well thought out & intelligently planned story is a pleasure I thoroughly enjoy. Hope you do, too!

So pleasing to find another book by Lee Strauss. The wee dog adds charm and continues to delight his mistress. The author writes a detailed and engaging period mystery. This is perfect holiday reading. For those lucky enough to visit London this will be fun to read and think back to the class period. Interesting but not overdone treatment of the characters.

After meeting Ginger Gold, her friend Haley, and little dog Boss, in the prequel novella to this series, I was looking forward to catching up with them again once they arrived at Ginger’s House in London. Anyone who also enjoyed that prequel won’t want to miss this book.
Mrs Strauss continues to develop her characters well and introduces us to new ones, some of whom I’m sure will appear in later books in the series. We have the opportunity particularly to get to know Ginger herself better, and also the suave and dashing detective, Basil Reed.
The author does a fantastic job of scene-setting and really evokes London and British life in the 1920s. She cleverly slips in all kinds of little bits of information, without it feeling like she’s giving us a lecture. And then, of course, there’s the descriptions of all the wonderful clothes that Ginger wears. Who wouldn’t want to be a 1920s’ woman?
The mystery itself is also intriguing and a bit unusual, and actually takes place in Ginger’s own home. It is well set out and had me guessing all the way to the end. It truly is in the style of Agatha Christie and I almost expected Hercule Poirot to appear at one point to try to sift between the facts, suspects, and red herrings.
Although the mystery is solved by the end of the book there are plenty of threads left to follow up in subsequent books in the series. I can highly recommend Murder at Hartigan House as an enjoyable, easy-to-read, light historical mystery. I’m looking forward to Ginger’s next case.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book and was sorry when it ended. Lady Gold is terrific, so is her friend Haley plays an important role in the story. I would have liked to have seen Lady Gold and the Inspector get together, but maybe that will happen in the last book of the Series, which I have yet to read. This is an enjoyable light read.

Lady Gold returns to her family home in London after 20 years in New York to find a skeleton in her attic, literally. She is determined to identify the body, find the murderer and preserve her family’s reputation.

A quaint tale of murder and intrigue. Inspector Reed was perfect and I would look forward to reading about him and Ginger again, should the author take that route. It would be welcome, as the plot definitely held my attention and kept me guessing about the facts. Great ending! Book gifted to me.

After reading the first book in the series, Murder on the SS Rosa, I was excited for book 2 to be available. Murder at Hartigan House was a very fun read! I enjoyed learning more about my favorite characters: Ginger, Basil and Scout as they solved the mystery! Once again, the author has done a great job of capturing the look and feel of the 1920's. I can't wait for book 3 in the series!

This book was interesting reading. I found it moved at a leisurely pace which was ok considering the plot, characters and setting. Descriptive and conversational narrative which was well done. I would recommend this book to others.

Interesting plot and background characters, but the key players are not yet fully developed. They need another book or two to become real people to me. Which is fine as I plan to read another of these books.

Love these books. Hope more will be written. Love being transported back in time when women were just beginning to the world what they are capable of doing. Love the characters... Reminds my of Downton Abby with an "edge"

This is my second book about Ginger Gold, & I'm thoroughly hooked on them. I would have been reading them sooner than now, but I was reading the wonderful Books by George Bellairs. And when I'm in a series I don't stay till I'm finished. So now after 50 Books of Chief inspector Littlefoot I'm able to read these delightful book by Lee Straus. She sent me a message saying she thought I'd like her books about Ginger Gold since I had read the Books about Posey Parker, which I'm totally enamored with! For an author to take the time to do that is just amazing! Of course I had to read her books then. And to give her an honest review! Well they are delightful, & fun to read!! They hold all the mystery I love & the characters are wonderful. I'm also reading the diary of Gingers she wrote while in Boston, USA. I recommend reading it also! So now I'm off to read the third installment of Lady, as she's off to find out who is scaring her sister-in-law and grandmama at Bray manor! Will it be a ghost or poltergeist? Did I say that paranormal books were my favorite also with murder mysteries?? I recommend these wonderfully delightful cozy mysteries by Lee Strauss!!

Ginger receives a telegram aboard the SS Rosa telling her that something ghastly has been found in the attic of her father's house. The second book in the series is just as compelling a read as the first. I enjoyed the character development of the familiar characters and being introduced to new ones. We learn more about Ginger's intriguing back story...her work during the war is very mysterious....and as one character put it "Never a dull moment at Hartigan House." The ingenious twist at the end was a complete surprise to me. Anyone who loves this era and a well written whodunit should enjoy this story!

The second book in the Ginger Gold Mystery series, this book was a fantastic read. The list of characters was varied and well developed. The attention to detail on the fashion of the time is marvelous. And the mystery itself is fantastic.

Another fun 1920's book by author. Love the characters, some familiar, some new. The descriptions are wonderful, makes you feel you are back in that era. Was given a free ARC by author. My review is freely and honestly given
