This book just blew me away!! Absolutely amazing blend of action, and strengthening of the relationships we have learned to love and hate from book one. Zane is growing into her own and it is a blast to watch! I am crying having to wait for the third installment!!

Shannon is one of those rare authors who never disappoint. Her worlds are well drawn, her characters very believable. Her writing pulls me into her world and lets me feel like I'm participating in the action, talking to real people/characters. This series promises to be one of her best. That's difficult because everything she has written has risen to the top of my favorites list.
Dragon's Ground is the second book of the Desert Cursed series. I do recommend that Witch's Reign, the first of the series be read to fully appreciate the growth of the characters in Dragon's Ground. It is difficult to say much about the plot without spoilers. The story and characters demand to be discussed.
Other reviews will do better with the plot outline than I would, because I just want to gush. LOVE this series and this author!!!

Shannon Mayer does it again with another exciting and adventurous story that continues to draw us in and keeps us from putting the book down. I can't wait for the next book in this thrilling series!!!

The series continues to get better. Zam is an outstanding heroine whose character growth is amazing to watch unfold. Secondary characters are strong and together create a story that you will laugh and cry.

Shannon Mayer is one of my favorite authors! I've read everything that she's written. I think this may be my favorite. I could barely put it down. It's very action packed. As this is the second book in the series, we get to know the characters a little more. Yet there is still so much we don't know. Zam and Lila discover new aspects about themselves. There are a few new characters introduced. This book holds more emotion for me than the first. There is triumph as well as heartache. I've definitely become more invested in the characters. I eagerly await the next installment.

Don't believe the advertisement. Back ground I do most of my Kindle reading using the Kindle Cloud and pre-ordered this novel after enjoying the first. Even after contacting support am still unable to read this book using the CLOUD and still do not have a refund.

In this book, Zamira is going after her brother, Bryce. Bryce is missing Ish is going mad, Lila went back to the Dragons and Maks went back to... where he came from. That leaves Zam with what's left of The Bright Lion Pride, Kiera, Darcy and Steve (who would much rather see Zam out of this world altogether and the ultimate brown noser).
Zamira escapes the Stockyard, with a very pregnant Kiera, and trouble ensues.
I'm definitely not going to tell you the whole story here, what kind of review would that be?? LOL. Let's just say that Shannon Mayer's Desert Cursed series rivals that of the Rylee Adamson series, which is saying a whole lot. Adventure, suspense, romance, but my favorite... the ones who believed all their lives that they were "less than", small, weak, etc etc. That really got to me, because I, myself have been told the same thing, and over and over, I proved them wrong. That's such a good feeling.

Book two was a great addition to the series. Frankly, in book one, while I did like Zam, she also got on my nerves. Allowing herself to be lessened by others. It's a thing that happens every day to people around the world. They allow themselves to be lessened by others. They allow words and actions of others determine their own worth. That is not how it should be. So it was irritating to me to see the one who was supposed to be our heroine do this. I had hope though that this would be a device to show her growth. To be a measure of her change. I'm glad to say that it was. Zam started out weak, not because she was but because she allowed herself to be what others told her she was. By the end of the book, she found her own strength, her own worth. I don't think she's finished yet, but in truth we never are finished growing.
As for the other characters of this series, they are all multi dimensional. The good guys arent perfect, the bad guys(that we spend prolonged time with) arent all bad. Steve, as big of a satyr flouncing idiot that he is, makes a choice that let's you see that perhaps somewhere deep deep within him, he does care about something beyond himself. Lila makes a lot of progress as well and we learn more about her background. Maks is still a bit of a mystery as far as what he is exactly, but we do learn more about him as well. Bryce is a big part of the book as well, whether in action or as motivation. Ish is in it a bit, but does color a lot of what happens.
My book had a bit of a format issue(kindle version) for a couple of pages, but it wasn't a huge deal. Just a bit jarring.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Give the book a try. Best to start with book one of course, but if you have and arent sure because of the same reasons I had, go for it. It's worth it.

Shannon Mayer is queen of the paranormal world! She creates worlds and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with (or hate with an uncontrollable passion to just jump in the book and give them a good old fashioned a** kicking!) Dragon’s ground is no different. Zam and Lila reunited and better than ever together, coming into their own and embracing themselves and their strengths, Maks returning who obviously has a supernatural mix of parents. And unfortunately Steve…. A definite roller coaster of emotions, on cloud nine happiness to falling off that cloud and crashing super hard to the rock hard ground. Highly recommended and anxiously awaiting to see where things turn next!

Warning! Do not read this book if you suffer from heart conditions, high blood pressure, overly active imaginations, neck injuries or are susceptible to outbursts of hysteria. Do not start this book if you have other commitments as this book will refuse to release its grip on you until the very last paragraph.
Every time I finish reading a Shannon Mayer book I feel like I need to catch my breath and slow my heart rate. This book is no exception. The action is NON-STOP. I don’t know how this author can create such an amazing world with such depths and dimension with so little time spent on descriptive text. I fall into her wolds like Alice in the rabbit hole and it’s like everything else just disappears.
This continuation of Witches Realm brings out 3 heroes to the Dragons Ground. The danger is around every corner and the characters are further developed through each obstacle they face.
I can not recommend this series or this author enough. She crafts an amazing story that races through the pages at breakneck speed.
Enjoy the ride- but beware- you will be left anxiously awaiting your next “fix!

Dragons, Shapeshifters, and Jin, oh my! You'll think you have been transported to another world when you crack open this book, and you really have. Dragon's Ground is the second in the Desert Cursed series and it is excellent. The writing is fluid and unfolds with a great pace. The action in this story is hard to believe and there are those moments when it seems so real, you don't want it to end.
Zam continues her adventures with Maks and Lila as they head out in search of a multitude of things, but mostly heading to find Zam's brother who has left their home in search of a healer. Along the way, there are surprise co-horts, twist and turns a plenty. There are parts of the story that leave you laughing and parts that you need a Kleenex for.
Overall, it's worth every penny to enjoy this fully. Buy it, you won't regret it!

OMG this book! The heroine Zam, really shines in this book. Honestly, in the last one she had too much self doubt for me to actually get a feel for her. But in this book, she accepts who she is (mostly) and she is so awesome. The gang is back together and they rock. It was really emotional. I wasn't expecting to cry ugly tears. Only a reader will understand how happy that makes me lol I was transported to their world and it was so much fun. I like the way this author often brings in characters from her other series in cameos. It's like running into an old friend. You may have new friends now but it's nice to know that the old ones are doing well. Can't wait for the next one!
