These are the kind of "fantasy " books you have to remind yourself that its fantasy. The characters are so Fleshed out you feel like you have met them before after only a few pages. The "real" world that the author creates slips into a darker, yet more colorful world that amazingly retains that feel of realism that will drag you in and hold you there till you get to the last page and look up and say"Damn! Its 3:30 in the morning!" Well worth a read or four. And yes, I'm hoping for a movie

Considering I went into it totally blind (found out about it via social media and didn't investigate it at all before reading it), I was pleasantly surprised. I've never been a fantasy reader and it caught me off guard when all of a sudden this was fantasy.

This book (and series) has a lot of similarities to the Dark Tower series (which I loved). I like alternate world type stories, especially when the characters from our world seem to shine in the alternate world. The writing was very good, with no noticeable grammar or spelling errors. I look forward to reading the next two volumes in the series!
The Falconer (Falconer Trilogy 1) :: The Falconer: Book One of the Falconer Trilogy :: Redfall (A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Thriller Book 1) :: Shadow Games (Time Jumper Series Book 1) :: Razer's Ride (The Last Riders Book 1)

I took my time reading this book... because I wasn't ready for it to end. A story within a story is right up my alley, and this fits perfectly! Thank you Samuel A. Hunt! Looking forward to the next book :)

I took advantage of the free download offer on the Kindle edition of this book. S.A. Hunt has a vivid imagination, and spun an involved story line in this fantasy novel. I think this might be his first novel, and as such, he shows promise. He is very creative, and his characters are well defined. I did have trouble following the transitions between "time frames" and/or planetary "zones". He shifted his story line between planets and times in a way that left me lost. Hopefully, he will become more skilled at his transitions as he develops his writing style.

Great premise, interesting characters and huge world building skills. When the reviews compared this to Kings gunslinger stories, i was skeptical. An excellent first novel, I hope to continue reading for a long time.

So, I have really struggled to rate this book star wise, because obviously the author has poured his heart and soul into these books. I received book 1 and 2 as a freebie on BookBub quite a while ago and just got around to reading it, because my kindle looks like a book hoarder owns it. Even though I agree with many of my fellow reviewers that it starts out slow, it did keep me interested enough to keep on reading.

Somewhere in the middle the book totally lost me. There were characters I couldn't place in the book, weird metaphors and connections between the worlds I couldn't make. I kind of felt like I was on a bad acid trip and had lost all connection with the story.

I am giving this 3 stars, because I finished the book, but unfortunately nothing in this story makes me want to go on and find out what will happen in book 3.

This book was well written and intriguing until the protagonists left earth. I was already a big fan of the book, then, to me things went wrong. The plot seemed cliche and the protagonists started to show their shallowness. I struggled to finish it hoping it would regress to the level of the beginning that I so much liked. It didn't. It just proceeded to an anti-climatic lack of ending. "Spoiler alert". They're about to make a long journey to recover a magic sword. S/ I never read about that before!/s

I've been searching and searching for a series similar to The Dark Tower and I finally found it! I flew through this one and immediately dove into book 2. If you're a fan of Stephen King, this is a must read. You'll get sucked in quick.

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys light, comedic fantasy/sci-fi and has a good handle on pop-culture references. The work manages to be irreverent and true to the fantasy format all at once.

the writer gives details beyond need or desire making this a tedious read. supposed depth only leads to incohesive passages. in addition there is no ending but only a continuation to the next book in the series. I certainly won't be reading the other books.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! From the moment I started reading, I was hooked. The storyline is unique and carried me through unexpected turns and twists that never failed to surprise me. Some parts made me laugh, some parts brought tears to my eyes and I caught myself biting my nails more than a few times. It's one of those books that you want to race through to find out what happens, yet at the same time want to savor slowly in order to draw out the pleasure of reading it. I was sad when it ended, because I didn't want to leave the amazingly rich world that the author had transported me to. Reportedly, a sequel is in the works - I can't wait!
