This is a series of light, even silly episodes that two over-aged teen-age guys have in the Florida Keys in the 1970's. Some fun frolics along Duval Street in Key West, etc. Neither profound nor great, just a fun read.

I'm now reading book 3. Light, funny and lyrical. Characters are amusing, but what I love are the beautiful descriptions of the Keys. This is written by someone who loves south (way south) Florida.

Laugh out loud funny, incredibly poor decisions which take you on a very real path of the worlds beauty and the fun of drifting away from reality to enjoy the trip with these two characters. Loved it !

This was one of those 'surprise' reads. I wasn't expecting too much, but found out that I really enjoyed this a lot and will be purchasing more of the author's books going forward. I find that humor in print is something that is a lot harder to pull off than a stand-up comedian, for example, but Mr. Reisig pulled it off with aplomb. I smiled all the way thru the book.

This was a very enjoyable read that makes us remember all the things we wanted to do when we were young.
The interaction between friends and the outlandish situations they find themselves in really hits home.
It gets a little weird towards the end but is really a fun time.

I was pleasantly surprised how this book brought back so many great experiences of my own during the '70s. It was a humorous, nostalgic trip. This author applies wit, rhythm, and timing, like a Buffett ballad to engage and capture the reader to the end. So many folks came down on vacation and just never left. Michael Reisig knows why and writes about it.

Just finished reading this, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be reading "Back on the road to Key West" soon.
The adventures of this pair of guys get hilarious and you wonder what else could they get into.
Good reading, hard to put down.

Having grown up during that era it is fantastic reading. I never matched those excitements, but one going through that time period you have a feeling that you "are there". Good enough that I ordered the sequel and look forward to that continuing drama. Outstanding writing!

Loved the entire book, however, Chapter Seven took forever to read because I could only read a couple of sentences before I had to stop to catch my breath from laughing and to wipe the tears from my eyes. I've just started the second book in this series and already started laughing. Thanks Mr Reisig, you have brightened my day.

Absolutely, breathtakingly, perfect description of the Keys and El Caribe in the seventies. Reisig's underwater descriptions made me hear bubbles. Just bought the sequel,"Back On The Road To Key West and am already half way through it.

What a great adventure Michael writes. I've been to places he describes in the late seventies, and thank God our adventures weren't like his. My husband and I always traveled off the beaten path, winging it as we went, hopping between Caribbean islands and Central America on a single engine aircraft as the pilot was drinking beer, meeting fascinating people from all walks of life. Travelers, Tourists, (there's a huge difference between the two) gardeners, gigilos, slackers, stoners, drunks....and becoming friends, if even only for a few days. And reading this story leaves me convinced that but for some wise decisions we made, our adventures didn't turn out as dicey as his. But they might have been...all things are possible when traveling.
His story rings true, although embellished quite liberally. (Monkeys and ashes nearly killed me, tears ran down my face).
