Breathe is the second book in the Rosewood Bay series. This book is about Phoebe Ward, Halley’s older sister. One night many years ago changed Phoebe’s life forever. Her only regret she never got to share the outcome of that night with the father of her son. She could never find him to tell him he was a father.
Years later fate steps in at provides her another chance with the love of her life.
Who would have thought getting the bid on a fixing up a house would lead to such a meeting, Jake has always loved Phoebe. He’s thought of her many times over the years and wondered what happened to her. She was his calming center when he felt out of control as a teenager.

Now can they overcome the mistakes and secrets that happened years ago.
Great read. Love how Carly Phillips draws you in to the story. I always feel like I am there with the characters in their world.

I loved Breathe by Carly Phillips. The second book in the Rosewood Bay series. This was probably one of my favorite books from Carly. The story was a second chance romance between Jake and Phoebe. Phoebe is the oldest of the Ward sisters and a single mother to Jamie. After meeting Jake in foster care when they were teenagers and then getting separated. They meet again years later, when they end of having to work together on a project. Jake is a contractor for a construction company and Phoebe is a realtor. Can they forget the past and move onto a new life together? This storyline hooked me in and absolutely loved this!

I definitely recommend this book and the first book in the series Fearless. Can’t wait to read Freed the third book and Juliette’s story!

Breathe is the second book in the Rosewood Bay series by Carly Phillips. This was a beautifully written second chance love story. Phoebe and Jake met while both were in foster care and fell in love. After being caught by the foster parents, Jake was sent away. A few months later Phoebe found out she was pregnant. Twelve years go by, the new contractor on a house renovation helping a client with, just happens to be Jake - the father of her child. Will Phoebe be able to except Jake past and is there any hope for them in the future?

Phoebe is a very understanding person and would do anything to protect her son. Jake has learned from his past and is an amazing father. After all those years Phoebe and Jake are still hot and in love with each other.

I loved the little update with Halley and Kane and I’m so ready for Juliette and Braden’s story!

I good old fashioned second chance love story. I really enjoyed this book! Jake and Phoebe knew each other and fell in love while they were in foster care together. Jake had to leave the foster home and ended up in jail. Phoebe was taken in by her aunt and soon found out she was pregnant with Jake's baby. Eleven years later, Jake and Phoebe's lives cross paths again when he turns out to be the contractor who is working on a house Phoebe is selling. It is easy to see and even feel that the chemistry between Phoebe and Jake hasn't lessened over the years and that their hearts haven't forgotten the love they shared. Of course, the matter of a jealous ex-wife, an unknown child and a long ago family deceit spice up the storyline as well. This is definitely one of my favorite Carly Phillips' stories--just the right amount of heat, sweetness and a great HEA.

Another lovely read.

This time we get to hear from Phoebe and Jake. They’ve both had really tough pasts, but they helped each other make them a little better back in the day. Due to different events, they are torn apart in their teens and are now meeting again and Phoebe has a big secret to share.

I liked Phoebe and Jake. They were both dealt crappy cards, but were strong enough to come out of that and form a pretty good life after that period. It didn’t mean there weren’t still lingering hurt feelings. But I was glad they were able to move on.

There was some mild drama in here, but nothing too much, just enough to push these characters forward.

Now I’m looking forward to the next book!

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

Phoebe and Jake were forced apart years ago, just before she found out she was pregnant. When a chance meeting reunites them, it's clear that their feelings for each other are just as strong as ever. But a lot has changed in those years, and they both have to work through a lot of personal issues in order to trust that they can have a future together.

I just loved these characters, and was thoroughly captivated by this story. Phoebe's heart is strong even though she still feels very fragile, and Jake's determination to reclaim what he's lost is admirable and heartbreaking at the same time. They handle the complications with maturity and kindness and a surprising lack of drama. It's a terrific book with characters that will stay in your heart for a long while. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

The Ward sisters are back.

If you read Fearless, you already have a little back story on Phoebe and Jake’s past. They were two teenagers living in the same foster house who had a deep connection but were ripped apart and hadn’t seen each other since. In a twist of fate, Jake is back and he learns about what truly happened after their time together.

I loved how Jake never gave up on Phoebe and I adored that Phoebe was open yet cautious to pursuing something with Jake. Lindsay was a very immature and self-centered person and I wished Jake had taking her situation more seriously instead of letting her get away with certain things.

I can’t wait to see if what happens when the last Ward sister is found.

The second book in The Rosewood Bay Series is about Phoebe Ward, who is the oldest of the Ward sisters. Phoebe had a painful past in the foster care system. She became a teenage mom and was never able to locate the father of her baby.

Jake Nichols was a troubled teen and spent some time in prison. But eventually he turned his life around and is now a successful general contractor.

A chance meeting will reconnect two people who were meant for each other. Along the way they will have to overcome some obstacles in order to have a happy life.

The Ward sisters' lives will be complete if they can find their baby sister Juliette. Looking forward to her story.

Carly Phillips writes from the heart. I am grateful she shares her stories with us. Rosewood Bay is a quaint beach town with regular people working hard to make a living and find love. The second book in the series is another hit! Phoebe thinks about her son’s father often, she just hasn’t seen him since she was sixteen. Both were foster children in the same foster home. Jake was sent away and had some hard times before he decided to turn his life around. Phoebe was lucky to have a supportive family member rescue her from foster care. Phoebe is shocked to see that Jake is the contractor on the renovation project she is overseeing. Both have some big decisions to make in their lives. Their connection and chemistry are off the charts. Life is messy, but love is worth the work!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this second book of this series and was captivated by Phoebe and Jake's second chance at happily ever after. As teens they fell in love while living with the same foster parents. After being caught together, Jake was forced to move to a group home. Phoebe was soon taken out of the foster care system by her aunt and soon realizes she pregnant at 16. Twelve years later she comes face to face with Jake and they soon discover their attraction and love for one another is still alive. Jake is now a single dad and his ex-wife refuses to move on. I was captivated from the beginning til the end. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Breathe is the second book in the Rosewood Bay Series. A second chance meeting of your first love, and the father of your son. Phoebe Ward is shocked to see Jake Nichols is the foreman for the renovations on a house she is selling. Phoebe never stopped loving Jake - will she finally get a chance at getting her HEA. If Jake has anything to say he will get his HEA with the love of his life - Phoebe. There are obstacles they must overcome, but together as a unit they can do anything!

I truly enjoyed getting to know more about Phoebe and Jake, and watching how they handle being together again after their separation, and the work that goes into getting their HEA. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really wanted to like this book and this series. Unfortunately, all of the characters actually come across as caricatures. It feels as though there was a checklist of romance novel stereotypes that was used as a guide - second-chance romance ✅, insecure and conniving ex-wife trying to get the H back ✅, insecure and emotionally guarded h ✅, former ex-con✅, secret love-child✅...etc.

Carly Phillips is one of my favorite authors but this book (and series) is written in an entirely different voice. And not one that I am particularly fond of. I am actually not sure if I will finish the trilogy.

I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout and the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

BREATHE by Carly Phillips is book Two in the Rosewood Bay Series. This is the story of Jake Nichols and Phoebe Ward. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Jake and Phoebe had met in a foster care and fell in love...but they were just teenagers. They were caught and Jake was sent away and by then Phoebe Aunt found her.
Years later they happen to meet again where we learn Jake is divorced with a daughter named Callie. Phoebe fell pregnant at 16 by Jake and had a son named Jamie . Jake never knew she was pregnant when they were separated. Now Phoebe has to tell Jake about Jamie and deal with the feelings that didn't go away.
Great second chance at love story.

Breathe is the second book in the Rosewood Bay Series and is a second chance romance between Jake Nichols and Phoebe Ward. Book 1, Fearless was Phoebe’s sister Halley’s story.

Both Jake & Phoebe were foster kids when they first met and fell in love. Things happen to break them apart and years later they find each other after only living a town away from each other and not knowing it.

Jake and Phoebe are relatable and likable characters. So much so that I got lost in the land of make believe and didn’t want to come back to the real world. (meaning the end)

I give Breathe 4.5 stars and now I can’t wait to find out about Juliette Collins the missing sister.

I was given an advinced reader copy for an honest review. Phoebe Jake know eachother from their foster care days, in fact, Jake is the father of Phoebes child, but he doesn't know it.
Life goes on, since their seperation, Jake has since married and divorced, but never forgotten about Phoebe.
A contracting job reunites them and now Phoebe must disclose the fact that jake has a son, and trust him not to break her heart.
The story is sweet, but I felt that it rushed to fill in the gaps of tome and rushed to speed up progression of Phoebe and Jake's relationship. For 2 peoople with trust issues, they certainly seemed to get over them rather quickly.
It did have an HEA

This is the second book in the Ward Sister series.

Phoebe was placed in foster care and ended up in a home with a boy named Jake. Their relationship moved very fast until it was found out that it went too far and Jake was pulled from the home. Soon after so was Phoebe by her aunt. She finds out she is pregnant.

Fast forward years later, she didn't expect to walk into a listing to find her son's father standing there in charge of the remodel. Jake, also, didn't expect to find Phoebe, the girl who haunted him, walk into his remodel job.

Such a good story of love. Lots of feels in this book! Can't wait til the next book.

I was given an advanced readers copy for an honest review. This is the 2nd book in the Rosewood Bay series. This is the story of Phoebe and Jake. They were together in a foster home in their teens and separated after they are caught together. What neither of them knew at the time was that Phoebe was pregnant. Fast forward 11 years and they are reunited when Jake is a contractor for a home Phoebe is helping a friend prepare to sell. Although over a decade has passed they seem to drop their walls (very quickly) and fall back into love again. After learning to balance their past and their lives since their separation they finally get the HEA they deserve.

Jake and Phoebe were in a foster home together. After being discovered together, Jake was sent away and Phoebe was left with his unborn child. Able to escape the system due to her Aunt, Phoebe has the baby and never expects to see Jake again. Jake is now a successful contractor and is set to do a restoration only to find Phoebe is the one who is overseeing the project. Both having lived through tough times as kids, can they come together and make things work? Can Jake accept his being a father 6 years after the fact? This is a wonderful story and even though it's a stand alone I'm glad I read Fearless first. Characters are well defined and complex.

Rosewood Bay is definitely a place I want to visit. Hot men, a beautiful backdrop and what sounds like a great place to make new friends. SIGN ME UP!

The characters in this book drew such a clear image in my head, I feel I know the family and have been a part of their fold forever.

The storyline was strong and so enjoyably sweet, I read it in 1 sitting. The exploration of the places made it feel like a beautiful town that you want to visit for vacation and stay forever.

I love Carly’s use of vocabulary to draw you into the story deeper with each word, line, paragraph and chapter. Definitely a 1 click worthy book.

This series gets better and better. I really enjoyed “Fearless” but liked “Breathe” even better. I think that it’s hard to do an enjoyable and believable first love story. I liked Phoebe and Jake and enjoyed them getting to know each other as adults. Their circumstances seemed to be very similar but they really had different experiences. Sometimes, you have to dig deep to get to the true issue, especially if at first glance there doesn’t appear to be anything tragic to trigger doubts and fears. I enjoy the way Ms Phillips writes and the way her words flow. I can’t wait for “Freed” and read Juliette’s story.

In Breathe the second book in Carlys' Rosewood Beach series is just as good as the first. In this book we follow Phoebe, the oldest Ward sister as she reconnects with her first love Jake, who also happens to be her sons father. We see the angst Phoebe has trying to get over past insecurities, we see the love between Jake and Phoebe even when she's fighting it. Overall a great romance book, but then again I've never read anything of hers that I haven't loved. Received arc through BookSprout, and am voluntarily reviewing. You can't go wrong with this one! Now can't wait for Juliette's book!

Breathe is book 2 in the Rosewood Bay series.
Jake and Phoebe’s story is a compelling second chance romance. Years apart and despite all the odds stacked against them, when these 2 meet again, they realize they still have feelings for each other.
Is that enough?
Real life challenges have stepped in to create havoc with their second chance attempts.
Well written the characters and how the story unfolded gave the characters more depth and reality.
Unexpected twists and other people drama
gave the story added to the overall enjoyment of this story.

This second chance romance is sweet and poignant. Deep emotions connect Jake and Phoebe even after more than ten years apart. The history between these two starts when they are teenagers and in foster care. Both these characters are complex. Neither has had an easy path in life and both have made mistakes. With a well written and engaging storyline your interest is captured and kept. With a bit of drama, a few surprises, a love that doesn't end, and soulmates reunited, this book is entertaining and will touch your heart. I'm voluntarily posting an honest review.

A deeply emotional, sweetly sexy and engaging romantic journey for this second chance childhood sweethearts couple that my heart just went out to....

Phoebe Ward is outgoing, funny, sexy and raising her adorable eleven year old son Jamie resigned to the idea she will never find his father again. Jake Nichols is sexy, charming, head strong and finally getting his life on track. Fate brings them back together, sparks fly and as the past unveils uncertainty creeps up... loved this highly entertaining visit to Rosewood Bay and I look forward to more.

Not only do I love second chance romances (they're my favorites), but they're always superb when Carly writes them. Phoebe and Jake are both fascinating characters, with difficult pasts, especially childhoods. And have also had some pretty difficult times as adults as well. It's always hard to read about somebody finding out about a child when the child is already near their teens. I enjoyed this book so much. From beginning to end, Phoebe and Jake are a great read, entertaining and heart warming.

I absolutely loved this story.. When love is lost at a young age you never think you will feel it again.. Pheobe and Jake running into each other after so many years is unimaginable but for Jake finding out he has an 11 year old son is life changing.. Both of them have changed and had alot happen to them both good and bad but the connection between them is still as strong as when they were young.. Jake and Phoebe's story was definitely a complicated one. Jake had a daughter he knew about and a son that he didn't, but the twist? Phoebe didn't know how to contact him to let him know she was pregnant. This book is a second chance romance with a crazy ex thrown in. The past between them was complex and so was their time apart. I feel like that time apart allowed both of them to grow enough to be able to appreciate what they had as a couple. This book was a good read and I recommend it.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Rosewood Bay series. This is a 2nd chance love story with single parents coming together and a discovery of a child Jake never knew he had fathered. I really loved Phoebe's character, she was strong, successful despite her time in foster care and her character seemed very real to me. Jake is a man trying to prove himself and overcome mistakes made in the past. I love how this book blends two families together. I'm excited for the next book in this series.

Loved Jake and Phoebe's story! Jake was sexy, sweet and sincere. He wanted to be with Phoebe from the time he laid eyes on her again. When he found out he was the father of her 11 year old son, Jake was all in. His ex-wife wasn't ready to let him go though. But what Jake and Phoebe have wasn't something anyone was going to be able to take away. With the power of love they were able to overcome the pitfalls that were popping up in their way to grasp their happily ever after!

A quick and light hearted read. The love story flowed well and we felt the connection between the two, as it was a second chance novel. There were steamy love scenes. We have a genuine hero who is honest and caring. Phoebe is a good mom above all, which makes her hesitant many times with other things during the book. In all there wasn’t much drama, and what was there, was fairly easily fixed, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

This is the second book in this trilogy centering around the second sister Phoebe, a real estate agent and devoted mother to a twelve year old son, Jamie. One of her clients had her overseeing the renovations to their house with Masters Construction. Meeting the head tech for the first time, was Jake who turned out to be her son's birth father, who he did not know existed until she tells him. They looked for him years ago but her Aunt hide the truth that he was in prison so she never. He was now a good man and deserved to know he had a son with her. He was overjoyed to get to know him,Jamie and to met his daughter from a previous marriage, Callie. He wanted them to get to know each other since they were brother and sister now. The hardest part was for Phoebe to show the real feelings that she had for Jake and let him love her. It was an amazing second chance love story as they became a loving blended family.

Breathe is book two in the Rosewood Bay series, it's a second chance love story with a secret child thrown in.

Love Carly's books....humor, deep feeling, romance, some hot sex, passion (and, yes, it can be different than sex). Separated as teens, they never fell out of love. Reunited years later, but surprise, she has a son. And it's his. Highly recommend.
