Good story, and that kept me interested for the first half of the book, but the point of the plot sort of got lost, and the second half seemed to be full of Hallmark scenes of walking through meadows. I finally gave up.

This book while not my favorite is still a classic Linda Howard novel. She let's us see the real beauty of everyday life and love. Her characters take the forsaking all others vow completely to heart. I love that. Too few people believe that

This book, was ok, and had some good chemistry between the main characters but WAY too long and WAY too much of the incredible dog. I like dogs a lot, but this dog took up way to much of the book, and was way too slow paced throughout. Plus there isn’t good closure on the end.

I loved this book! It was well written, the characters grabbed me and I hung on for dear life until the end! The description of the dog was absolutely spot on. Great book for animal lovers. I highly recommend this book!

Tricks the dog reminded me of my dog cookie! Love all of Linda Howard's books. They keep me interested. Only problem I have is I hate to finish one because I don't always have another one to start. So I guess that's a good recommendation.

This book is absolutely terrible. I have read ALL of Linda Howard's books and loved them. She has earned a stellar reputation which she has just thrown away. I can no longer trust her name on a new book. This is so bad that it seems like a parody. The first chapter held great promise but then quickly devolved into being pathetic and even strange. Everything was off: poor character development, flat romantic relationship based on who knows what?, goofy plot, and a never ending dog story!! OMG! How did this get published? I paid $13 for one of the worst stories EVER. I gave it one star because there is no zero star choice. The Linda Howard we love is gone. But thanks for all the earlier terrific books.

The people who gave glowing 5 star reviews should be ashamed to be a part of ripping people off. Money vs ethics and money won.

Linda Howard is in my top 3 favorite authors, and I did enjoy this book. However the relationship with the dog was a little over the top for me. If you are a dog freak, you will love that aspect. I would recommend this book though, it's a great read, not her best though. I look forward to her next one.

As usual, master storyteller Linda Howard draws the reader in immediately with superb details to create her characters in depth. Always unpredictable, her stories never fail to twist and turn, and also always teach this reader something interesting along the way. Another winner from my favorite writer.

Love, love, love Linda Howard! Her plots are interesting but most importantly her characters are - and there is always some humor in the story. A couple of her books (like Open Season) have had me laughing til I cried! Plus I like it because the heroes/heroines don't do stupid things to get themselves into trouble.

Story dragged. Way too much tedious detail about the heroine's dog and her antics when they contributed little to the overall plot. Very little time spent on what could have been an intriguing storyline and even less on the consequences to the perpetrators.
Sorry I bought this. It was a disappointment.

I was expecting a romantic suspense novel. This was basically a story about a dog. Seriously the entire storyline was centered around the dog. I was disappointed with the storyline. I'm not a writer,I know it must be extremely hard to be one. It was even harder for me to finish the book. Linda Howard is an amazing writer but this book was not for me. But if you want a book about an amazing, extremely smart dog this book is for you.

I love Linda Howard, although Troublemaker was a big disappointment. Not a lot of suspense. Very predictable. Don't' get me wrong, I love dogs but enough about the insightful, humanlike dog. This was not a big page turner. I kept hoping that it would get better. Ending was just as I thought it would be.

I usually enjoy Linda Howard books but this one was sorely lacking in character development. I felt that the chemistry was blah and the character which was the most developed was the dog. The dog annoyed me so much and was so central to the book that by the end I really wished it would get shot.

Everything i love about Linda Howard is missing from this book... the chemistry between the characters, the tension between the plotlines. Heck Bo and Morgan were pretty much secondary characters to the dog...
