There are few writers creating such honest and compelling page turners as Nnedi Okorafor. There is no wishy-washy false or forced hope in any of her stories. The core of every tale she brings into the world is truth, whether you like it or not. Her stories not only entertain but expand the mind. Binti's journey is heartbreakingly great and I cannot wait for the next part of her journey!

This is a fantastic continuation of a refreshing and exciting take on sci-fi. Okorafor is a skilled story teller who pushes boundaries of gender, race, and social expectations with an effortless grace that leaves the audience entertained while also questioning the world around them.

Loved reading the second installment in this series, can't wait for the last novella in the trilogy. Okorafor does a beautiful job building characters and the world they occupy in the smaller space of a novella.

All three books in this trilogy are short quick page turning reads. Very imaginative. I don't remember whether the Black Panther movie or this series came first for me, but I am really enjoying Afrofuturism.

Everything by Dr. Okorafor is golden, and the Binti series is, by far, my favorite. Great writing, great characters, great plot, great everything. If you haven't read the Binti stories, you're missing out on something truly amazing.

The evolution of Binti continues. Think I loved this one more than its predecessor, now that I mostly had a handle on the world and its peoples I could concentrate on the wonderfully complex person that is Binti. This one brought the feelings, and I seriously need a sequel ASAP.

This was a gorgeous follow-up to Binti, developing more of her life and family on Earth, and deepening her ambivalent feelings about the Meduse. I can't wait to see what's next for our main character.

On par with fellow woman if color Science Fiction writer, Olivia Butler, Nnedi Okorafor knows how to manipulate words that draw the reader in. I loved every nuanced, breathtaking minute of this series!

This is a very interesting and well written story, albeit with a tin ear for the past tense of some verbs. It contains fascinating characters and ideas, such as ancient telepathic communication, being "old old African," and living in a home designed for extended family, among others. However, while I understand that the book is part of an intended series, it ends in a cliff-hanger. That's fine for a chapter; it's really annoying in a book length work such as a novella, leaving the reader unsatisfied and feeling manipulated. At least one of the ideas, or some significant stage of the protagonist's growth, could have come to completion in this volume, even though the arc of the series plot does not. If you are going to sell it as a serial, say so up front, and like the first story, "Binti," have a pre-order button for the next installment.
