I am pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. Not since Anne Mccaffrey have I been immediately hooked by the characters and story line. Very similar to binge watching on the store, I will seek out Mr. Narro's other books and read them all!

This book was unexpected to say the least. It was a quick, fun read that has me eager to read the other books by the author. Probably the most unexpected part was that the approach to magic was different and not simply a retread of the general fantasy tropes for mages.

First let me say that I almost did not read this book since the cover seems kind of bland, but I am extremely glad that I did. It it very well written the characters are developed very quickly much like you would get to know someone that you met in person, where you feel like you know them but like there is still something new to be learned. I don't really care for the cliche of the main character be royalty and a drop down gorgeous character, but what really sets this book apart is that you know there is going to be twists in the plot and like most avid readers I try to figure it out before it happens, and I am normally pretty good at it but I am happy to say that I was very pleasantly surprised and shocked. The main issue I have with the book is that it was just published a few weeks ago which means that I will have to wait a decent amount of time to read the next installment of the series.

The events in this book take place within two weeks. Best friends are made, trust gained and love found in such a small amount of time that's it is hard to relate to the characters because they don't feel real.

Kin of Kings was a great book that included the other characters of the RoR series, and while they still appear in most of the book, the new main character is the real deal, Basen the newphew of the late antagonist has to work harder than anyone to prove his not a bad guy, but events happening in the book will drag him into a new war.
It's easy going, full of action and intriguing plots.

This was my first book by this author (after writing this review I will most likely download others) and I loved it. I read it all in one day because I just couldn't put it down. At the end I was like "Noooooooo... I have to wait a month to see what happens next?".

Well written with a great plot. This is the first book I've read of B.T. Narro's and I am impressed by the multifaceted narrative. Well developed characters and many twists. Definitely looking forward to more. Keep it coming!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very likeable. The ending came as a surprise. Can't wait for the next one. I need to see what happens to the group when they find out who the villain is.

This books magic system seems to be based on the authors other books. Since I read some of them I was familiar enough with them to not be totally lost. I'm not sure if the other books also set the stage for this book as I had quit reading the previous series after 2 books.
The book starts out well, typical coming of age story. However to much happens in to little time. It's a stretch that he develops such deep friendship with people and so on in... 5 days. (70% of the book) Most of the book is pretty predictable.
However the "bad" guy is introduced around 70% into the book and is so unbelievable that I just started skipping ahead, didn't miss much and pretty much everything I expected happened. Personally even though it ended cliff hangerish, I won't be reading the next installation of this series.

Kin of Kings is another book set in the same world as Rhythm of rivalry series. It has both the main characters of the older books as well as introducing some good new ones. I really enjoyed reading it and cannot wait until the next one.

This is not a new series. This is the next book in the authors previous series. It's also not very good. The decisions that the characters make add drama and move the story along, unfortunately they rarely make sense. I tried this book even though I didn't like the last thing this author wrote to give him another chance but I will not read this author in the future. I cannot recommend this book to anyone.

This is pretty poor writing. The style is generic and sounds unedited. The characters are poorly developed. The dialogue is awkward and not very believable. I feel like this individual published before they were ready, before they had remotely honed their skills as a writer.

It read like a video game. The villain was obvious from the start. She is over equipped with villainous skill and to defeat her it would require some miracle or act of god. There was no character development in any of the characters except those which the author killed off! The hero is also excessively equipped with magic but not so much that that he can overcome the villain by himself. Video game: I am not interested.
