A fun story, love the creativity around parallel universes. Definitely became enthralled and eager to turn the pages. Although, I didn't give it the full five stars because I don't think this was one of Stephen kings better pieces. I don't think it was meant to be either, but still a good read.

I was struggling to find something appropriate for my 15 year old granddaughter who is a reader! I loved this book and have read it a couple of times. So bought it for her and we each read our copy. My copy is 30 years old! I loved it and she says it is her favorite book.

Loved the imagination King put into this one. It even brought to light a section of the Tower series that I had read not realizing that Talisman was part of the story. I grew to love the main character but loved Wolf even more. I couldn't put it down.

Two great writers come together and create a tail of fantasy that combines the fight of good and evil with a teenage hero. Sometimes sad, with suspense and wonder set in two worlds. Great read and flows real well. Could not put it down and read it a second time to see what I missed. Wow, Wolf

First read this back when it was released and have re-read it many times since, currently on Kindle. An alternative realities cracker from King and Straub which brings together the best of both their visions and creepiness. The setup takes a bit to get going but once it does hang on for a page turning ride through the Territories and all of its horrible, and some surprisingly gentle characters. I still have visions of the school and the howlings and the walls. Highly recommended for fans of the best of King and he creepiness on Straub.

Just as advertised. Love this Book among all other Stephen King books. Hoping they will make it into a Big-Screen Movie and not a mini-series (they would probably hack the script and wouldn't do it justice on television). Book was in superb condition. Thanks

Had forgotten the book. I read it many years ago, but saw the Black House in Target and the characters were the same. It made me buy the book again after I read Black House. Now that I'm done with the Talisman, I'll read Black House again, so it's in sequence.

Even though I have read this before, it still draws me in every time. I not only read this book, I experience it. I am there. It does help if I wait long enough between reads lol. But the language artistry, the concepts and the progression of the plot - they are all perfect with this book. If you have not read it, you're in for the ride of your life. Exquisite read! I highly recommend it, obviously. Black House is Part 2, different but just as good. Will review it when I have re-read it this time.

I have read this book............. I can't remember how many times. I have borrowed this book out time and time again and had to get it on my tablet. This book is an excellent mix of horror and fantasy. If you like the Gunslinger series, you will love this and see the parallels between the two!

This novel is classic King. Old school King. King at his best, although maybe not his most frightening. I love Stephen King stories that are partially coming of age stories. To me, his creation of a character with real depth and dimension is best when that character is a young person who is about to grow up pretty fast due to coming cataclysmic events. Perhaps because the character is still essentially a child, the struggle he feels between being a coward and a hero, of acting justly or selfishly, of protecting himself or sacrificing himself for someone else -- all of this is acceptable and understandable to us as readers, and we are able to withhold judgment because we know this character is developing and growing. Experience with King along similar journeys has taught us that King's young protagonists usually become people we'd be proud to count among our friends in our own lives. King does not disappoint us with his creation and development of his protagonist, Jack Sawyer. Jack is scared, Jack is flawed, Jack is vulnerable. Jack is brave, Jack is noble, Jack is strong. Jack is twelve. He will accept a quest that will save at least two lives and will shape the man he will one day become. We have an invitation to accompany him along the way.

Couldn't get into it for some reason. Book starts out very slow with much detail about the mundane. Some sections felt unneseserily long, I even skipped through a few paragraphs (not my usual practice).

I liked the Talisman. King truly gets you into his stories. He makes you root for the good guys and hate the bad guys!!!! I enjoyed the travels this poor boy goes thru, between getting stuck in arm pit bars or staying strong for his best bud even when he is dead tired and only 13yrs old. I believe there is a sequal to this book~ I would love to find out what happened after ALL THAT TRAVELING!!!
I would definetly recommend this book. Lots of great characters, I even cried a couple of times thru the book~ Very good!!!!

It's all about the atmosphere evoked by these two iconic authors. The characters are well developed and the story line is intense, as expected. A bit of judicious editing would have prompted me to give it 5 stars. In places the story dragged a bit but overall, I enjoyed the read.

This book is a collaboration of Stephen King and Peter Straub and is one of my very favorites. The characters are exceptionally rich and the story is touching and a wonderful coming of age story. I recommend it highly.

Absolutely one of the best adventure-thriller stories I've ever read. This was an excellent collaboration between the 2 authors. If you like Stephen King's work, you will absolutely find that you can't put this one down.
