This series about 'embraced' women who have grown up together is just so imaginative and fun. In this book it's Gwenmores turn to step into the limelight and boy does she have a huge problem. When the young princess is snatched by a dragon ( told you it was huge ), Gwenmore tries to follow but then she's dropped only to be saved by another dragon ! What makes everything worse is discovering that as an elf Gwenmore is considered to be an enemy but she's not backing down . Luckily general Silas intervenes saving Gwenmore from the dungeon but strange things are happening in the land of dragons. An insane Queen , an ancient curse and an enemy of old.
This was fun to read although perhaps a tiny bit predictable. It's a completely different take on the usual shifter stories and never fails to entertain the reader. Humour abounds from the title which reminds me of a much loved show to the name that Gwenmore calls her dragon rescuer . Such a well written story and hurrah no instant love but a relationship based on respect as much as attraction. Yes it's a romance although Silas does sound remarkably modern for a fantasy character but I still enjoyed it. I actually wanted a slightly different ending but alas my lips are sealed. I'm guessing Sorcha might get her happy ending next and I for one can't wait to read it.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is a delightful fun read by Kerrelyn Sparks. It is third in this series that has such great characters that it is difficult to choose a favorite. Silas is certainly my favorite of the male lead characters. He is hero material whether in man or dragon form.

General Silas Dravenko is loyal, protective and an all-around good guy. This comes out even with the bargain that he strikes with elf healer, Gwennie. He can also be a flirty and playful which was the opposite of how I thought of him as a dragon general. Just goes to show the complexity of Ms. Sparks’ characters. He made the book for me, along with some of the other dragons of Norveshka. Gwennie was okay as the other lead but not my favorite of the sisters in this series. At times I found her to be too wishy-washy as well as reluctant without good reason.

Ancient curses, a creative fantasy world and romance are all part of Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon. The book is said to be a stand-alone but you will want to read the other two in the series along with this one.

5 Stars for Silas
4. Stars for Gwennie
4.5 Stars Overall
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book three of the “The Embraced” series. I really enjoyed this story by author Kerrelyn Sparks. The heroine had me smiling on many occasions, I’m sure from a distance people were thinking I was crazy woman. I loved Gwennore’s inner monolog and the secret name she had for our hero, Silas, “General Gorgeous”, or so she thought it was a secret. But you will just have to read it to see what I mean. I have read other series from this author; I’ve found her work to be well written and enjoy the playful personalities she gives her characters. This story did not disappoint, I felt this story has well-developed characters with dialog is so witty and playful you can’t help but not fall in love with them all. I look forward to the continuing stories from this series, if you haven’t read the previous books from this series you might want to. This story has great action, a heroine that can take care of herself, and a hero that has the right amount of alpha to make you swoon. I give this book 4.5 stars.

***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!

The Good
-I liked the characters, both Gwennore and Silas, and they do have some chemistry when the story was focused on their romance.
-The story starts off strong and the “curse” of the Norveshki people intrigued me. Focusing in on those aspects would have been the thing to do, except...

The Bad and Everything in Between
-Lord, the recaps killed me. The story bogged down with the repetition. Something would happen in a scene, and then I’d have to read the characters dissect those same actions, then repeat the reasons why x,y, and z can’t/won’t happen and then move on.

The Bottom Line 2.5 (yes I round up) stars
This was ok. What’s kept me coming back is this group of sisters, by choice if not by blood. The setup for entire series has so much potential, and I would like to know what’s going to happen to the remaining characters, such as Sorcha, Maeve and Brody.

I just wish the writing could support these ungainly middle sections, because so far, the stories start strong and end relatively well. I may read the next one, but not sure I’d rush out and do so. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re a diehard Kerrelyn Sparks fan.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon was my favorite of the Sparks' Embraced series so far because ... Dragons!! I like these light fantasy romances - even though I now skip over the info dump explanation of the magically talented Embraced and their world which leads off each book- where each of five sisters for the Heart raised as orphans discover love and their own history. This time around the elvish Gwenore finds her match in Silas, General to the northern people who live in the land of the dragons, after she ends up hitching a dragon ride when her young 'niece' is kidnapped by another dragon. Silas is captured by her bravery and her beauty and Gwenore is won over by his attention and good opinion of her.

The romance between them is fun, but I did have issues with the wrap up of the background plot and the quick cut to the HEA - the fallout from the 'curse' on the royal family and the obstacle of Gwen's elvish heritage are swept under the rug when both things would have lasting repercussions for Gwen in her new homeland. But then again this is light romance so the lack of follow through is not that unexpected.

I look forward to the next sister's story.

Silas is a very defensive man, “would you stop calling him Puff? He’s a war dragon, for Light’s sake.” I think Silas takes pleasure in embarassing his woman, "with a groan, Gwennore pulled the sheet over her face. “That’s my snookums,” he teased. “Always trying to sneak a peek at the crown jewels.” With a huff, she lowered the sheet and scowled at him." I don't understand why Silas is getting all in a tizzy, the man can't be jealous of himself, but it seems that way, "...she’d trampled all over his traumatized heart by declaring Puff the real hero. She’d called the general a jokester, a man who wasn’t to be taken seriously. Dammit to heck! How could she dismiss him like that? Was that any way to treat a man she was attracted to? He strode into the southern wing, then darted up the stairs, two at a time, headed for her bedchamber. She was going to take him seriously." Silas doesn't like interruptions especially if they disturb him when he's with his lady, “dammit to heck,” Silas growled. Gwen’s hands shook as she refastened her clothes. “Wait here.” He adjusted his too-tight breeches and strode toward the door." I loved this book, I love this author's writing she knows how to write memorable characters that stick with you.

Gwennore (I hate that name, she shall henceforth be referred to as Gwen) is one of five “sisters” that have grown up on the Isle of Moon together. They are destined to bring peace to the kingdoms. During a party, Gwen and her niece are captured by dragons. The dragon’s country is having problems. The main problem is their children are dying and their population is dwindling. This prompts some to kidnap children from neighboring kingdoms. Gwen possesses talents that may help in diagnosing their problems. The kidnapped child is returned to her parents and Silas talks Gwen into staying in his country and helping the people solve their problems. Among their problems are poisoned objects, traitorous spies, and endless war.

Gwen sometimes refers to Silas as Puff (as in the magic dragon) and General Gorgeous (for reasons). I didn’t like that Silas was not open and honest with Gwen. Gwen was bullied by others because she is different (she is an elf). I liked the banter between the characters. Example: “She thinks I’m full of shit.” Aleksi snorted. “You’re right. She is intelligent.”

Gwennore is really sad about all the prejudice she has faced since she left the convent island that she and her sisters grew up on. Everywhere she goes she hears them talking about her because she is an Elf, and they are known to be vicious killers. Looking after the children will save her from hearing the talk.

General Dravenko is trying to stop the war with the kingdom of the Elves and now someone has done something that could start a new war with two of the other kingdoms. His country will never survive more problems. They have so many now. The curse most believe in has taken a huge toll.

Our heroine is a healer with a special gift, and exceptional hearing. Our hero is much more than he seems, and keeps many secrets for the safety of everyone in his kingdom.

We have lots of great characters that give us laughs as well as magical adventures. There is danger all around.

This is part of a series that is best read in order. I have read them all so far and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Each has it's own story, relationship, and ending but link together to follow each other. I can't wait for the next one.

This is the third book in the 'Embraced' series and although this book earned a 4 star rating from me instead of 5 stars like the other books, it was still a good read. Ms. Sparks knows how to create intrigue, mystery and romance between Silas and Gwennore. Gwennore has the power to detect illness and she agrees to try and help General Silas Dravenko even after being kidnapped by a dragon. Gwen does her best to not succumb to the charms of "General Gorgeous" as she names him. Silas has never met a woman who stirs his passion like Gwen. He respects her gift as she tries to unravel an ancient 'curse' affecting his people, but he never wants to let her go and wants the beautiful elf for his own.

I liked Silas especially his sense of humor that keeps Gwen on her toes. I would have enjoyed more scenes of these two getting to know each other, but overall this was a fun read. I can't wait to see what the next 'Embraced' sister's story will be. Fans of romance and dragons will enjoy this story.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is the 3rd book in the Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks. This one features Gwennore , (Gwen) and Silas. Gwen ends up in enemy territory, Norveshki, after her niece Eviana is kidnapped by a dragon and Gwen grabs on as they take flight. The dragon is able to shake Gwen off but she is caught mid plunge by another dragon, one that doesn’t appear to have sinister intent. But can Gwen trust him?

Gwen and Silas’s story is entertaining and interesting. I liked that Gwen didn’t fall into Silas’s arms. He had to woo her. It was amusing and endearing. We see another side to the Norveshki and I liked learning about its history and why they were at war. This is a story of danger, deception, enlightenment and romance. Silas works for peace for his people and Gwen discovers her ancestry and finally finds a place that she can call home.

I thoroughly enjoyed Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Wow once again the Author Kerrelyn Sparks enthralls the reader with a dynamic suspenseful entertaining read. Her intriguing presentation of the Norveshka and the dragons who protect them is described in brilliant detail that immediately draws the reader into the plot of the book. The humor of Puff and Silas, Lord General, add the chuckles to this story as they remind Gwennore about Eight Simple Steps for Dating A Dragon in slow steps.

Gwen starts out with no confidence and throughout the book she becomes fearless and most entertaining as she fights to resist her feelings for Silas. Her need to help others endures her to those close to her. But what I really admire about her character is her ability to continually help others who scorn and dislike her.

This book has a lesson for everyone. It doesn't matter what others think about you it only matters what you think about yourself. I am excited that this series keeps getting better and better and am anxiously waiting for the next books to this series about the other two sisters.

I give this 5 BIG STARS for being so brilliantly written.

Received an ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.
Kerrelyn Sparks’ newest offering to her Embraced series, ‘Eight Simple Rules For Dating A Dragon’, is a fast pace and humorous story. This third story had an interesting mixture of paranormal with superstition. The love story was good too.
The heroine, Gwennore, must find courage in herself and use her special gifts through several events; a kidnapping and rescue, being unwanted in a new land at war with elves because she is an elf, and deadly plots that could cause her death. Despite all odds she will willing help to save a people from extinction from a supposed ancient curse while falling in love with the hero, “General Gorgeous” Silas.
The hero, Silas, while having his own secrets, tries to distract Gwennore from her fascination with a certain dragon that rescued her from sure death by coming up with rules for her about dating her dragon. This is all while he is protecting her and falling deeply in love with her at the same time.
The Embraced is my new watch for series. Already I cannot wait for the next story.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is a humorous and sweet paranormal romance. Gwen is babysitting her niece when a dragon sweeps out of the sky to steal the child away. Our brave heroine holds on tight to be carried away too. When she about plummets to her death, another dragon swoops in to save the day whom she affectionately names "Puff". A sick queen demanded a child she believes is hers but when Gwen uses her gift on the queen she discovers the madness curse is in fact poisoning. Manipulated by the handsome General Silas, Gwen agrees to stay if the child is returned. Funny and flirty, Gwen and Silas relationship cracked me up and kept me reading way passed by bedtime. The action is enough to keep the plot flowing smoothly and the secrets they uncover satisfy the reader and further enchant. This book ended way too soon in a sweet HEA that gave me a hankering for the next in series. Totally satisfying and pleasing for a great read I recommend for paranormal romance lovers. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy.

There was something about the title of this book that made me think I wouldn't really like it, but I decided to give it a try anyway, and I'm certainly glad I did!
I was surprised that I not only liked it, but found myself engrossed in it almost immediately. The story, characters, and world that is created are all intricate and detailed. The dialogue is often not just realistic/believable/natural, but also at time delightfully funny. The two main characters play off each other wonderfully, with Gwenn being absolutely charming and endearing. Silas is a great character as well, though a bit too single-minded at times. (And what part of, 'I lived in a convent and don't really have experience with sexual relationships, so please understand why I'm hesitant" does he not understand? :D )
The book places emphasis on strong relationships/friendships in the face of prejudice and danger. The loyalty and friendship that so many characters develop is heartwarming. Brody in particular won me over, but maybe that's because I'm a dog lover!

Let me start by saying, I FLOVE Kerrelyn Sparks and I uber-grateful for the ARC. However, this book was more like a 3.5 for me.

Gwennore is one of five adopted daughters. She's certain she's the unwanted one, and she's convinced herself she's fine with helping her sisters raise their children while never marrying. She's an elf. It seems that's a bad thing, since her people are known for cruelty--something no man forgets. It doesn't matter she's been raised away from her people or that she's lovely. Anyhow, in comes the dragon--Silas. I love the world building and the idea behind this story. The problem for me is, I love romance. I love the tingles and the tension. This was just not. I waited a little bit to write my review, trying to decide what it was that didn't quite do it for me, but couldn't put my finger on it. BUT, that's me. Everything amazing about Kerrelyn Sparks is still here and if you love her like I do, you'll still enjoy this book. Pick it up. Give it a try. You might feel differently.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say first that I'm impressed. This book is clearly part of a series, and it's not often that I never feel lost when I jump into the middle of the action, as it were. There was enough background that I didn't feel the need to stop reading, go find the first two and finish them before starting the book from the beginning (it has happened, and those days were dark). But on the flip side, there were enough details that I found myself curious about the first two books in the series, so I probably will go back and read them at some point. That's a skill, and not every author has it.

This is probably the first Kerrelyn Sparks book that I've read, and I enjoyed it. It was a beach read, with a good blend of romance and plot. The execution was good, the writing solid from a technical perspective. The dual POV worked well (and that's something I usually find choppy so VERY well done there) and it moves at a brisk pace so it's a quick read. I found myself wondering toward the end when the next book would be out, so Ms Sparks is effective at moving forward the overarching plot of the series without losing sight of the story she's telling now. Another rare skill.

That's not to say the book is perfect. I have some issues with the title (it would make more sense on an urban fantasy or modern fantasy romance given the pop culture reference, and that's what I was expecting when I picked the book up and started reading). There were anachronisms throughout the book, usually when a carefully constructed rhythm of language was thrown off with a modern phrase. The world building was pretty thin- there were a few times when it felt like it would break if I breathed on it too hard. If this book were classified as a fantasy I'd be harsher but hey, it's a romance novel first and a fantasy novel second which means I'm less inclined to nitpick. There are a lot of romance series with fantasy underpinnings that don't lay the groundwork for a fantastical universe the way they'd need to if the books were located in a different genre and that's pretty much fine with me but if that's not your cup of tea consider yourself warned.

Overall an enjoyable way to spend a rainy evening. Come for the romance, stay for the happy ever after and enjoy the dragons along the way.

Embraced series is MAGICAL from the history told to the dare I scream FABULOUS characters that Kerrelyn Sparks has come up with to share with us readers. Reading the prior books in this series with enlighten and reveal the connection of the women who grew up on the Isle of Moons. Paranormal characters and these sisters with unique powers strive to unite this kingdom that has been at war for many years. Dramatic first pages has Elf Gwenmore in a field picking flowers with Eviana her sister's daughter. Swoop in a Dragon to kidnap Eviana and Gwenmore latches on to him in fear and desperation. Action packed events follow along with another dragon to the rescue who Gwenmore dubs "Puff". A story that you wish will never end and although there are no despicable cliff hangers I look forward to reading more in this series. Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon, book 3, The Embraced series by kerrlyn Sparks. This was my first book for this series But Not my first book for author Kerrelyn Sparks. I am excited to read books 1 and 2. Also, I agree that reading this series in order should be the way. I started with this book and WILL catch up and be ready for the next installment. Kerrelyn Sparks takes readers on a fun adventure. Entertaining readers from the beginning. Keeping them hooked with this creative storyline. And returning for each/any additional installment. Masterful world building. Wonderful characters. Looking forward to many more 'visits' to and with. And any new characters not yet met. I received this book as an ARC from St. Martin's Press through NetGalley. I am voluntarily posting this review. Remember book 1, How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days and book 2, So I Married a Sorcerer, the beginning of this series...The Embraced.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating A Dragon by Kerrelyn Sparks is the third book in the author's series, Novel of the Embraced. The events in this story take place in Aerthlon, the world Ms. Sparks has created. This world is a fantasy fan's dream world. There's magic, shifters, pirates, dragons and royalty. I love this world and the stories Kerrelyn Sparks tells about it and all those who populate it.

The stories are based around five girls who are of the Embraced and are raised in a convent on an island which is a safe haven. On the main continent the Embraced have been feared and killed when found. In this book we get to read the story of Gwennore who was raised on the Isle on Moon and General Silas Dravenko of Norveshka, the land of the dragons. They have many adventures and find some answers for some mysteries from long ago as they get to know each other and fall in love. I loved this book and the entire series so far! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is the third book in The Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks. I liked first two books and was looking forward to the next installment. This book centers around Gwen and Silas’ story but we also get to revisit all the sisters and other characters from previous books. I did enjoy it as much as the first two books and I particularly liked the fact that the main hero, Silas, is a dragon shifter.

This series has great worldbuilding, interesting characters, a lot of humor, and very swoony romance. My one pet peeve about the series is that every time each of the Embraced sisters gets her HEA, it always includes babies. I am a little tired of the outdated notion that all women need babies to feel happy and want to see less of it in books. There are five sisters in the story, I think each will get her own book, so I hope the author will not go down this route for every sister.

I will not restate the plot nor reveal any spoilers in this review.
Kerrelyn Sparks has written an interesting and unforgettable novel about dragon shifters. The characters are well-defined and well-rounded with a great degree of depth. EIGHT SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING A DRAGON is full of romance and suspense. I also found it to be very humorous. There are other books that take place prior to this one, however this book reads as a stand alone. That being said, this storyline continues as not all issues have been laid to rest. Overall, an excellent read with a great premise.

"The first rule for dating a dragon is that whenever he takes you for a ride, you hold on tight and never let go."

I loved this book, It captured my attention from beginning to end. Gwennore has grown up in a land where she doesn't feel like she quite fits in. She is dedicated and loyal to her family, but it's never been quite enough. Silas is a general for a country that has great secrets to hide, and can't figure out why he is so attracted to it's newest "visitor". Together they make a fiery duo, two puzzle pieces that twist and turn before they find that they fit. And then, you have dragons! Need I say more? It was an engaging storyline filled with characters that were well developed, and amusing. Though it is part of the Embraced series of books, it can be read as a stand alone without feeling too lost.

"Be still. He bent his long neck, angling his head downward so he could study her with gleaming gold eyes. I have you."

I had to force myself to read this book, repeatedly. I would start and loose interest, put it away for awhile, then try again. I got to the point that I gave it a final chance. Well, I am glad I did. Once I got into the story and the characters everything else fell into place.

This is a paranormal romance set in an alternate reality and world. The people living there are born with powers that emerge depending on when/where they were born. Elves are looked upon as lower than low and class division is in full swing. There are shifters and an assortment of other paranormal creatures in the book, too. All of these things add up to a richly detailed world full of interesting characters and secondary characters.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, after I get done reading the first two in the series.

I would like to thank NetGalley for giving me a galley of this book.

This is the third story in The Embraced series and out of all three, I think this one is my favorite.

The author does a good job writing these, even though they are a part of the series, to be read as a standalone. In my opinion, I think you should read them in order before you dive into the third one. The world that the author builds from book one is not just fascinating, but it will help you understand the characters much better.

Silas and Gwen were truly a couple that deserved their happily ever after. Their chemistry was so good and the banter throughout the story gave me so much joy and laughter.

As paranormal stories go, this one is one of the best out there. Worth the read, as is the whole series.

Awesome magical fantasy romance. This is the first book by this author I've had the pleasure of reading. I understand there are previous books in this series but throughout the story the author pieces together a lot of what I didn't know so I'd consider this a possible stand alone. The main secret of the curse wasn't resolved but the story gave a HEA. The story revolves around sisters of the heart not by blood. Each has a Destiny to fulfill and I enjoyed learning about the homes, people's and particulars of the location in this book. There are trolls, elves, shifters, dragons and more in this story. The author gives the readers mystery, intrigue and suspense in a magical world. The main characters are Gwenmore who is elfin and Silas who is a royal General but each have their own secrets. I received a complementary copy of this book via Net Galley and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

Gwennore is an Elf and has lived her life feeling lost....luckily for her a Dragon swoops in and saves the day when she needs him the most

General Silas Dravenko has many secrets but when Gwen walks into the room he can't help but want to keep her safe no matter what secrets he must reveal.

Gwen and Silas go on a journey that has many twists and turns but will it lead to romance? Read and find out!

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

This book was very good. I loved trying to figure out just who was doing what and every secret that Kerreyln put before her reads. While some of the mysteries were very predictable others will really leave you surprised. I feel like the nurse in me had a problem with the cure to stop an illness that was plaguing many people but outside of that I loved this addition to the series and can not wait for more.

Gwennore is an elf with the abilities to tell what is wrong with someone by touch and how to heal them. When her niece is kidnapped by a dragon, she tries to save her but ends up falling into the wings of another dragon. She can communicate with them through her mind, when only other dragons are able to.
Silas is the general and next in line to be King of his country. The King and Queen, his brother and sister in law, are both ill. The whole country is infertile and he hopes Gwennore can help.cure that and the plague that hits every summer.. The towns people don’t trust her because she’s an elf, the king and queen are cracking up, and Silas is trying to seduce Gwennore and save his country..
I truly enjoyed this story. I’m not a big historical romance fan but this has humor, romance, shifters, and evil people. Surprises and a little suspense.

I have truly enjoyed the Love at Stake series and was so excited to get my hands on this new series The Embraced. Unlike the Love at Stake series, this book is reminiscent of the Renaissance era where proper etiquette and behavior is expected. I admit, it took me a while to warm up to the characters but once we got going I was hooked. Great story and cast of characters magically woven into Kerrelyn’s cherished humor and heated moments. As always, you can count on the HEA endings for these two characters with enough lead way to launch into another within the series. I look forward to meeting many more of these characters as they are united together within this series.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is book three in the Embraced Series and it is an extremely fun read. It starts off like you're stepping into a historical fiction novel then you discover there are elves, a whole other fantastical world, shifters, and DRAGONS!

This is the first book I've ever read from Kerrelyn Sparks. I received an email from Netgalley stating that this book was available to download. So, I downloaded it out of curiosity and enjoyed it immensely!

The characters are likeable and it's easy to become wrapped up in the story. I was fine reading this without the other two. I didn't even know it was apart of a series. It's lovely to accidentally stumble into a series when they're well written.

Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon by Kerrelyn Sparks is book Three in The Embraced series. This is the story of Gwennore and Silas. I have read the previous books (and Loved Them!) but feel this is easily a standalone book.
Gwennore is and elf who find illness and help to cure it..make her skills very valuable.
Silas is a dragon whose lands are plagued with illness and a curse.
When a young girl goes missing Gwennore tries to locate her. Silas will bargains for the missing girl asking in exchange that Gwennore works to help heal his cursed land. But Dragon and Elf's aren't usually allies but with the growing attraction between the two there just might be something more.
I just love this series and this book just added to that love.

Fantastic enchanting beautiful story with a heroine I really liked and her hero that I... didn't. Too often I felt like he made fun of her and went against her wishes (and it doesn't matter to me that he knew her thoughts... you can think about wanting something and still not really wanting it because there can be reasons not just to do everything you feel like). I forgive him because I know he'll make her very happy now they are together but before... oh well. But the story was intriguing and I liked how it developed, how the others are entwined in this book and you see what is getting on with them too and how slowly but surely you get to know more about the danger they are all in but with so much hope for a brighter future. Eviana was my favorite!

I have read the earlier stories in the Embraced series and am familiar with the world of Aerthlan and its five kingdoms but this is a stand alone story of Gwennore, an elf and a healer, and her stay with the people of Norveshka and the very handsome General Silas. There's always some humor to go along with the very serious conditions at Draven Castle and the problems of the royal family. An explanation is found for Gwennore's ability to communicate telepathically with the dragons and a solution is found for the infertility of the people of Norveshka. More clues are given about the identity of the Chameleon and his ambitions. I really enjoyed this story!

Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC; all opinions are my own.

Others have summarized the story , so I will not do that here. First, based on the title I was expecting a modern romantic comedy - that is not this book! It is more of an old world fantasy - lords and ladies, elves and dragon shifters. The world building was done well, this is the third in a series which was new to me, and I was never lost. The opening sequence was the highlight for me - kidnapped by dragons! Then it slowed way down. The source of the King and Queen's poisoning was unique and well thought out; but the loss of fertility nation wide - not so much. I loved the ancient tree connection, but it was never completed. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book has the potential to be so much more!

4.5 Stars - A wonderful continuation to a captivating series! Leaving the Isle of Mist has brought surprises for all the sisters, but the condemnation Gwennore feels is harsher than she could have imagined. Once she's carried away to the land of dragons she comes to realize that there's still more she doesn't know. Having never met another elf before, she doesn't see how she's different from all the others. And while she's initially afraid in this foreign place, she's drawn to the land, the dragon and the man. What follows is an engrossing tale about discovering who you are, how to harness your power, believe in yourself and let yourself be loved.

It's a wonderful ride and I can't wait for the next installment.

Very entertaining! This has a great mix of fantasy, paranormal and historical romance. You have dragons, elves, shifters, trolls, talking trees, royal families and more.

The author has a good sense of humor that shows through her characters and great vision in her world building. This series would make a fantastic movie series. I could easily see this world and it's many fascinating characters through her words.

It will depend on the reader if this could be a standalone or not. It has continuing characters and does mention things that happened in previous books, but each book focuses on one couple and their story.

I'm looking forward to Sorcha's story next! ARC provided by NetGalley.

A wonderful tale that follows Gwennore in the 3rd installment of The Embraced.. Gwennore travels to Norveshka where she encounter General Silas Dravenko, a dragon. There are some strange happenings going on in Norveshka and though Silas is wary of the elf, Gwennore he understands her reticence to people who have often ridiculed her. Together they decide to help each other out in their separate quests. She to find a missing girl and him to find out what is really going on, on this island. This was filled with sarcastic witty comments and laugh out loud moments, but for me the most important part is DRAGONS!!!! Love them and no book written about dragons could ever be bad in my opinion. Loved it! 4 stars!!!!

Can I just say WOW? Kerrelyn Sparks has DEFINITELY done it again!!! I thought I loved her before when reading her Vampire novels but oh my gosh I'm fully gone now! This series is AMAZING!! Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon will keep you so enthralled that you will absolutely be unable to put it down for fear you will miss something! I was taken through so many emotions I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. This is truly a MUST BUY series!! She is a brilliant author and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! I received the ARC for this via NetGalley and I voluntarily read and willingly write the review for this book. All opinions are honest and only my own. Regards: Anna

This was a really good book. It was very enjoyable, funny, full of action and romance. This is my first read of any work by Kerrelyn Sparks, but will not be my last.

I am starting this series at the third book but had no problem getting enmeshed in this world or keeping up with the story. I thought this book had a good flow and well written characters. I loved the bantering and funny interactions between Gwen and Silas I loved their chemistry and slow burn romance. I will be checking out the other books in this series and highly recommend this read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book that was provided by Netgalley.

Unique historical-ish romance with a feeling of modern sarcasm along with shifters, elves and trolls. Sparks style is refreshing and exciting. Each book centers around one of five sisters, left on an island as a baby because their families feared for their safety. As grown women two have become royalty and have families. Gwenmore, an elf and healer, has gotten involved with a country of dragon shifting clans and a deadly curse. It's a magical story playing off the previous books for Luciana and Brigitta. Each romance is separate however there is an interconnected theme. My copy came through Netgalley and my review written voluntarily.

Delightul, fun read that has motivated me to reserve copies of first two books in the "embraced" series from my library.

While I enjoyed the characters and plot, my only major criticism of the book was that the pov(point of view) would switch abruptly mid chapter between the protagonists without any paragraph spacing. This was momentarily confusing and disruptive to this reader Having been provided courtesy of the publisher an eGalley of this title, I can only comment upon the galley proof. Perhaps this may have been fixed in finished product.
However, this problem does not refer me from recommending this title.

Full disclosure : This title was provided by publisher without any expectations or compensation for this review.

After reading the first book I was a bit hesitant to pick up this one. Even when I liked that one, I remember it was rather light on the fantasy and a bit simple in the execution of the story. But I was curious how Gwennore would fare with a dragon, so here we are.

The story is indeed simple and straight forward. There are no big surprises here. Gwennore and Silas have a fast romance while having to save the country. I liked them as a couple, but the story is rather formulaic. I can already predict the ending of the next book and I don't mean the HEA.

Overall 3 big stars because I did enjoy it a lot.

I loved reading the enthralling and amazing third book in The Embraced series. I voluntarily reviewed the book through NetGalley.
When Gwenmore is dropped into the Kingdom of Dragons with the young princess, she wants the young princess returned in exchange for her help in healing the curse and the stopping the plague. The handsome, sexy General Silas, captivates Gwenmore's attention, but she must fight her attraction to save Silas, his kingdom, and get back home to her sisters.
Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, full of romance and intrigue, and a must read love story.

I forget how much I love this series from Kerrelyn Sparks until I find the next book and just adore it! This is another fun romp with dragons, elves, and so much more. One of the best things is that I get to re-visit the friends I've met in previous books.

I very much enjoyed Gwennore and Silas' story and the struggle to overcome the obstacles which seem to be set in stone. A very satisfying read all around. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy provided by NetGalley and can't wait to see where the books take me next.

I love this series.....Silas is a Dragon who rescues Gwennore, an Elf, from dying and takes her to his land. Gwennore was protecting the little princess, who is a daughter to one of her adopted sisters.

In taking he and she discover that they are able to communicate mentally with each other. The Chameleon shows up in this book as he has in the other previous books, he creates even more chaos.

I don't want to give much more away but again, as in many of Kerrelyn's books, I can hardly wait for the next one to come out........PLEASE SOON Kerrelyn Sparks!!!!!!

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
Gwen has an unique talent.
She can find the cause of a illness and cure it.
Gwen is assigned to find a kidnapped gird.
She did not expect where her journey would lead her. ( or who )
Silas is almost losing hope of finding a cure to save his people.
When he meets Gwen, it seems that his prayers have been answered.
Will Gwen find a cure in time?
I loved the storytelling + the characters
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!

This fantasy romance is lighthearted even in tense situations. If you are looking for sweet and corny with stupefying attraction, you will enjoy this story.
The heroine is the smart one and snorts a lot at the vain, self-serving, superstitious people in the next country.

I was irritated at how often the heroine smacks the hero. I also thought she should have tended to the injuries on the little princess before the heroine took her own bath...

The characters are fun with some serious bad dudes. I look forward to the next in this series.

Like Alice falling through the rabbit hole, as Gwen tries to do a good deed she is whisked away on a magical adventure...one that, unlike Alice, she realizes she doesn't want to return home from. This series just keeps getting more entertaining, leaving me waiting on pins and needles for the next one! Thank You, Ms. Sparks for writing such imaginative tales.

I usually like Kerrelyn Sparks a lot. Her fun worlds, steamy romances, and interesting characters make her stories a fun read. This book fell short for me.

The tale starts off with a kidnapping, an interesting mystery and intriguing characters. But it quickly devolves into a slow moving silly story that I had a hard time finishing. The character's choices were odd and they quickly became annoying. Once I lost the connection to the characters and their motivations and thought processes, I really didn't care what happened to them.

I was disappointed in this book and sadly would not recommend it.

This is a fast-paced paranormal read with plenty of drama, suspense and is also fun and entertaining. Gwennore is an Elf and able to heal. When her niece is kidnapped she doesn’t plan on just letting her go and is taken to Norveshka. Now she will try to help the Dragons and try to find the cause of the curse, can she trust them? General Dravenko doesn’t trust Gwennore but needs her help, will they find out more about the curse? The chemistry is steamy and the story transports you to another place. A good read.

Wonderful fantasy/paranormal read. Gwennore is an Elf is with special healing and restorative powers but, she is totally unprepared for the world of dragons that she is forced into. Gen.. Silas Drevanko suddenly has to trust and work with an Elf in order to save his race. How can they trust each other when they are sworn enemies??!! Worse, what are they supposed to do about the very powerful feelings they are feeling toward each other? I did not want to put this book down!

I love the way these stories unfold. The characters are fantastic and the crazy antics that Gwen and Silas are always up to not to mention all the sisters.

When Eviana is scooped up by a dragon Gwennore hangs on for dear life. When she falls another catches her and brings her along with the little girl.

Back when the telling stones told her future she had no idea it would be this!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

I have to say that I enjoyed this book way more than I did the first two. Gwen and Silas's relationship was hilarious. I loved that he kept making up the "rules" as they went along. This book was quite unpredictable, which I absolutely love in a book! I hope we find out who Gwen's mother is soon.
All in all, a faster paced book, it was a really enjoyable read.

This was another fun installment in this series. I get a kick out of Sparks' writing style. The humor is always fun and light. This story did drag just a bit in some places, and I felt a lot of events that had to do with the overall story arc of this series all happened near the end, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment. I loved the new characters introduced (yes, dragons!) and seeing favorites from earlier books. Looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this story. Kerrelyn always has a way of creating worlds that draw you in. Every little detail is taken into account. I love that about these stories. Oh and have I mentioned I love dragons! This was perfect for me. It was tons of fun and action and creative storytelling and I enjoyed every minute of it. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Starting the third book in a series seems wrong to me and that might be why I couldn’t get into this story. I didn’t have enough information on the other characters to know the back story since the characters of the first books are in this one too. The plot was slow moving, didn’t feel like Silas and Gwen had a real connection.

This is the third book in The Embraced series. It can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the other books in the series and I didn't feel lost at all.
This is a witty, funny, emotional, low angst read with a twist. I loved Silas and Gwen and their love story.
I received an adavanced copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

As the third installment in a wonderful new series by Kerrelyn Sparks, this book continues to create an exciting world of magic and mystery! I love each new couple better than the last, and this one is no exception. Both main characters are lovely, with depth to them that is slowly peeled back as the reader delves through the book, and that made it a really enjoyable read.

It's been several years since the five adopted sisters left the Isle of Moon for their new lives on the mainland. Gwennore has accepted her lot in life, which she believes to mean that she will never marry, for elves are not accepted in Tourinian or Eberoni society. Finding solace in her sister's children, she spends as much time with them as possible. When her favorite child, Eviana, is kidnapped right in front of her by a fierce dragon, she grabs on to his leg and refuses to let go. Thus Gwennore finds herself captive along with little girl in Norveshka, the land of dragons, and things go from bad to worse when she realizes the Queen is mad and her only ally has too many secrets for her comfort. Now she must determine who she can trust, before it's too late.

Gwennore and her ally, General Silas Dravenko, are an extremely cute couple - seriously, their every interaction made me laugh out loud. Particularly Gwennore's nickname for him, General Gorgeous, which she doesn't realize is broadcasted to him every time she thinks it. The fact that Silas can read her mind and she doesn't figure this out for a while in the book makes it all the funnier, and once his secrets are revealed, the hilarity begins all over again. It's impossible for her to stay angry with him. He was so cute in how he kept up the pretense that they were lovers in order to keep her safe, and I loved that she didn't give in right away. Of course, I would have been happy had she given in a bit sooner, as it did seem to drag on longer than I would have preferred. However, their relationship was so entertaining that it didn't really matter when they became intimate. There were more important things to focus on. In addition to those two characters, there were also a lot of great secondary characters that will have you laughing just as much, such as the flamboyant Olenka, whose personality matched that of several people I have known over the years. Endearing and sweet, she was a nice addition to a great cast of characters.

As usual, I have finished a Kerrelyn Sparks book wishing I could jump right into the next book. I love her books so much, and I am eager to read the next. I imagine it will be Sorcha, but I am hoping we get Maeve's soon as well, who I think will end up with Brody (am I right?).

**I received a free copy via NetGalley and this is my honest review.**

Great Read! Kerrelyn Sparks books are always a fun way to spend an afternoon. I really like the characters and Gwennore gave as good and she got. This book had a lot of enjoyable and fast pace moments. I really like all the mystery and intrigue. Gwennore and General Silas had great chemistry between them and the world building about the history of the dragon and the elf’s was a great way to lead up to the next book. Which I can’t wait for!! I would recommend reading the first 2 books in this series first because the do referred back to them in this book.
