Well done Gena Showalter! Dying 2 read rest and for the rest of the angels of the dark series too. Only disappointment is not being able to buy completed bundle of lords of the underworld series. Silly 4 book bundle is a poor offering.. We want COMPLETE SETS!

Read a lot of reviews that did not do this book justice. It was awesome, from start to finish. She knocked it out of the park with Paris and Siennas story as well as adding more to overall plot and tying up other lose story ends. Wonderful!!!!!!!

So this has been my favorite series in a really long time. And I love that I started them when this book came out. That way I had like 8 book to go through and they were all equally great! I loved Paris!!! I can't wait for the next book!

I wasn't going to buy this book b/c I didn't like the cover but glad I did. I really liked the H/h together. Heroine's character was well rounded and likeable. Paris was great. I only write reviews to give the author support or to say if I hate a book.

Another great book in the Lords of the Underworld Series. The Darkest Seduction tells the tale of Paris and Sienna. The twists and turns in this one kept me on my toes, and not wanting to put it down! Thanks Gena!

Just the latest and greatest from Gena Showalter! This book does not disappoint. Long-awaited story of Paris and Sienna is red-hot and full of LOTU drama! Plus, there may be some other hook-ups on the horizon.

Yet another brilliant installment in the Lords of the Underworld series... now the wait begins for the next one.
This one is mostly based around Paris' search for Sienna after her souls abduction by Cronus and his joining of her and Aeron's freed Demon of Wrath. there is an interesting side story here following Kane and the demon of Disaster

This was a good book but definitely my least favorite in the series. It's like you can tell it was the last book and too many stories were touched upon in a short time in what I feel like was an attempt to put some closure on parts and make us hope for another at the same time. Too busy. I didn't love the whole Paris story line. That being said... This is still one of the best series of books I've read and look forward to reading about the angels.

Paris is my favorite Lord and I've been waiting his book ever since he first met Sienna and I was really afraid it would not live up to everything I was expecting. So I started reading and couldn't put it down...

I suffered with Paris and Sienna, I was dreading what would happen to them because for more than half of the book I just didn't know how it could ever work out between the two of them. With the prophecy and especially Paris' demon I didn't see how Showalter could give both of them their HEA. But she did. And she did it with style!
There were a lot of twists and new developments which I really loved.
And I have to say, I really loved the ending. Everything came together beautifully and I especially loved Sienna's role because I think strong female characters are simply the best!

The best book in the series!

Sometimes u can see d ending coming and know how the book will end, but not this book. It was hard to put down. It took me 2 days to read and that's only because I had to sleep and go to work. Absolutely fantastic book with lots of turns. This book has me dying to know what's going happen next.

I am aware that with a series as popular as LOTU is, Gena Showwalter must be under tremendous pressure to put out books at a breakneck pace, which has to on some level explain what happened here. This book just wasn't very good. Paris comes across as a creepy "Boogie Nights" character. How many times could he call Sienna,"Baby"!? Gross! I love this series but still wanted to put the book down halfway through and never come back to it. Writing is tough work and Showalter has proven herself to be a more imaginative storyteller than most in her previous books so my standards for her are set higher. She did do a great job with the Horsemen..they come across as deranged and dangerous. I was riveted whenever the story was on them with Kane.

What can I say, I am a complete sucker for the Lords of the Underworld Series and have waited and waited and waited with the rest of you suckers forever, it seemed. Annnd, I loved it. Paris' story was worth the wait. I love the humor and the devotion that the characters have to each other. Thanks Gena.

It was a very good book, however for the Paris story, I was waiting for more! With that being said: I loved the ending! What a twist! I didn't see that coming!

One more thing I'd like to add...I don't like the cover! It differentiates from the past books, which show the Lords by themselves!

This book was definitely worth reading if you're read the rest of the Lord of the Underworld series, but don't expect TOO much, even though we've been waiting for Paris to find his mate for a long time. It was good, though parts of it dragged. If Paris is your favorite of the Lords, though, you definitely get a good look at his gentler side!

While I don't think this was the best book in the series, it did give some answers to the over-arching story that I'd been waiting for. I must say the romance in each book is becoming VERY repetitive. Still, all in all, enjoyable fluff.

I've been waiting for a new Lords of the Underworld book for what seems like forever, and boy was the wait worth it. Not only is the cover the hottest one yet and that's saying something since all the books have great cover art. This book answers questions that we've had since this series started, it wraps up story lines and creates a few new ones. I seriously hope she's not done with this series yet her writing is so beautifully put together it breathes across the pages of her books and sweeps you into a totally different world where gods are at war and angels and demons are real. I love this series because its about so many things, but I am partial to the love stories and redemption the Lords get. Not only does this book have tons of action but the hot and steamy romance that's going on sets the pages on fire. This book is Paris's story and boy is he due a happily ever after ending he's put so many other people before his own wants and needs which is funny considering the demon he has housed in his body. None of Gena's books are just about one of the lords we get to see in every book what's happening with the lords and other much loved characters that surround them. There is so much going on in this book I feel like more happens that in any of the other books in this series. The plot is great and twist so unexpectedly I almost fell over with some of the plot twists that happen in this book. For avid readers of this series you will love this book and cry out for more as soon as it's done. For readers looking for a new series you really need to check this out it's one of the best paranormal romance series I've come across, Gena Showalter really knows how to set a story and leave you wanting more.

This book is exactly what I expected of Paris' story - moody, guilt ridden, lots of sex, lots of dialogue, long winded at times, humorous at times, corny at times. It was well written but a bit dragging with not much action until the end. There was really nothing wrong with it but I'm not much of a Paris fan so I didn't really care about the main characters in this story. There were times when I just wanted them to get on with being together already cause they were starting to bore me. The new character that was introduced was a bit overdone so she annoyed more than amused me. However, this book does move the series forward a lot by the end of it. I did like the previous book better (Darkest Surrender) because of the non-stop action and wacky funny characters.

I love that the publisher keeps the price for the Kindle books in this series so reasonable. For under $5, it's a book every fan of this series should not miss. Gena Showalter writes her books well - the way you expect a professional writer to write. You can really tell the difference between her books vs a lot of books by independent writers at the same price range that are often full of typos and grammar mistakes. With this author, whether you like the tale or not, you can just focus on the story and characters.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Paris's story. I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, because to be honest, I am not as huge fan of "The Lords of The Underworld series," as some. Although Paris has been my one of my favorite Lord's, I had no idea how Showalter was going to make him fall in love, stay in love, and stay faithful, while staying true to the nature of his demon, Showalter did, and she did it with style. Ever since Sienna's introduction to the series I wanted to read her and and Paris's HEA. This was a book that kept me routing for the couple to make it. The demon of promiscuity was one emotionally damaged and lonely hero (just the way I like them) and his heroine was not much better.

I also laughed a great deal because of the interaction between Paris and William. He was a great wing man to Paris and the interaction between Paris, William as well as Zachereal was absolutely entertaining. It would be interesting to see the direction that she is going to take with William and Gilly. Or maybe Kane's story is up next? Maybe Legion and Galen. Or finally poor lonely Torin. I noticed that Showalter made Galen's character redeemable (very) in this story, and I found myself routing and hoping for a HEA for him and Legion.

All in all this was an absolutely fantastic read from Showalter!

I have read all the books in this series, and was waiting for Paris's book like so many out there. It did not disappoint. I disagree with the first review. It did not drag for the first 100 pages. I was engaged from the very beginning. Alot of action took place in the first 100 pages. Yes, there was alot in this book, and it was not an easy read, but I loved it. It was great to have everyone together and active in the book. I loved the new demon Viola, and Willam was funny. Paris was not his old self but why would he be. He was trying to be in a relationship and uncertain, but he came around in the end. The ending was awesome. I hope I love the new series coming out from this book as much as I have loved this one. You can not read this as a stand alone book because you will be lost and confused even though it reminds you of past events. You will not be disappointed if you have followed this series.

Ok I am not going to go over the whole storyline and break out a bunch of spoilers because that has already been done. I have to admit I was nervous about if I would like Paris's story or not, I wasn't sure if his character could pull it off. I was wrong. Paris turned into the alpha/possessive H that many have grown to love in this series he finally grew some hair on his b**** you could say. I loved getting caught up with the other character's in the previous books as well as being introduced to new ones. Overall I was pleased and can't wait to see what's next.

Every lord gets a book and this one on Paris was worth the wait. I like the direction she is going with this, and this book was happily different, and interesting not a repeat of previous works. She added more demons and I actually am curious about what is happening to Kane, and I didn't think I would ever care. Sienna turned out to be a fully developed character and not whiny, and she is a unique former Hunter personality. None of the lords women are the same and I am grateful they are strong individuals. I do wish Aeron and Sienna would have talked about Wrath, but it's a minor complaint. I just loved it. I can't wait for the next one.

My apologies to all those who loved it, but this book didn't cut the mustard. My main complaint is the lack of dialogue. It's pages and pages of introspection. I mean seriously, one character asks another a question and instead of getting a response we get paragraphs, sometimes pages, of self-analysis and back history, and most of it is redundant. By the time the second character replies, I forgot what the original question was! Not to mention, a lot of the limited dialogue between Paris and Sienna was just lacking. I literally skipped pages, looking for interesting key words to catch my eye and get me back into the storyline. And no, I wasn't in this read for the sex scenes, I was just looking for something beyond all the facts we already know. I did find the Galen/Legion plot engaging, but as other reviewers have stated, the book was bloated and the excessive plots were well ... draining. I guess I just anticipated Paris' story as a chart topper. Yes, it was great to read about the other Lords and their ladies, but the Paris/Sienna plot was simply weak.

I don't know if this is the last of the Lords, but I know I'm done. I've truly enjoyed so many of Showalter's books, though, and plan to revisit my faves. Starting with the Atlantis series--Love it.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Paris' story. I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, because to be honest, as a huge fan of The Lords of The Underworld series, Paris has never been my favorite Lord. And to be honest, I had no idea how she was going to make him fall in love, stay in love, and stay faithful, while staying true to the nature of his demon, but she did, and did it with style.

So much happened in this book, other than Paris and Sienna's story. So much backstory to the series came to unexpected twists and turns. And of course, once again, all of our favorite players were there, making appearances that actually meant something, and weren't just 'fill' to connect the previous books.

So, now that I have devoured the book in one day, I anxiously now must wait for the next. And one quick (kinda) spoiler below...

I am so not happy. I wanted Torin's story next, but, she cannot possibly leave Kane where he is. I almost cried at the end when it was obvious there was no closure with that part of the story, knowing I will have to wait to find out what happens to Kane....grrrr.

All in all, it's another fabulous addition to the series, and I highly recommend it. If you are a Paris fan, you will not be disappointed!

In the in past I would just buy the books as soon as they came out but not anymore.
The plot jumps all over the place so much I had to go back to see where I was. Too many characters clutter up this book and make it confusing. I have no idea where the author was going with this book because I wouldn't finish the darn thing. It gave me a headache. If I could return it I would!

Mrs.showalter does nothing halfa$$. Every book she writes is superb. She goes above and beyond. I am dissappointed that any showalter fan would give such a review. So Paris finally gets his book. Sadly its about 3 books too late and by this time I don't even care if he and sienna live happily ever after. Sadly at about five books unless a series is at least as equally concerned with plot as with giving fan service, its time to wrap up the series. It happened with showalter and Kenyon. I'm already done with Kenyon and her various hackneyed dark hunter franchises. With showalters previous alien huntress book I was done with that series as well. I held on a little longer for lords Bc of wanting to know what she would do with Paris. And to see how the crossover with kresley Cole's series would go. Ok done. As I am done with this author and series.

Just Bc you're writing about related characters you don't get a free pass for terrible story telling. Your backstory is already written. You should only get better and more creative. And if you cant...the series is done regardless how many new (tho boringly familiar new characters....another self righteous angel AND self centered BLONDE goddess, really????) You toss into the mix. TRY introducing a new series like a spin off where some characters are familiar but you break away enough that you aren't already boxed into a story you've creatively exhausted but cant seem to end Bc that money is too good. Larissa Ione did this with her demonica series and subsequent 4 horsemen series. I Am refraining from drawing comparisons to Disaster.
ANYWAY

Suggestion. Get this book to find out what happens to Paris. Slog through its length and then just don't bother with the rest. Id like to know what happens with William and find out about the devil and the horsemen but not if I have to wade through bloat and horrible exposition to the point where I'm skipping pages of writing, including dialogue which was once the high point of this series.
Btw to dismiss reviews by telling people to write their own books is silly. If these books were free you wouldn't hear a peep of criticism from me. However if I spend my hard earned cash on a book that disappoints I'm going to feel entitled to share my honest opinion when given the forum. It allows other people to make a more informed decision than I did.

I’d been waiting for Paris’s story for a really long time, the way Miss Showalter write his character is captivating, I mean, he basically has no choice but to have sex every day or take the chance and weaken his powers…the catch? The person has to be new. Now at first glance this sounds like every guys dream come true. Have sex with new chick every night, gain power beyond my wildest dreams.

And for a while, or at least in other books you think that he’s okay with this–until you get in his head and realize he’s not, not by a long shot, especially since the only girl who had EVER turned his head was dead. Paris starts off this story with a lot of attitude and a ton of depression, his character goes from being cocky and arrogant to just as dark and dangerous as the rest of the Lords, possibly even more so.

Because of Sienna’s death, he’s decided he doesn’t want to be that person anymore and tries to go against his true nature which of course means the rest of the lords feel the need to step in.

I will say this, to the reader it does get a little grating that the first quarter of the book is mainly self loathing from both characters in each of their POV’s lots of self loathing over one another, which gets kind of old.

Sienna was a really strong female character that had a lot of trouble deciding what she wants and here’s the thing, you want her to WANT Paris in the worst way and since he’s the lord of promiscuity you have to wonder, is he as good as he says he is? Because she’s able to resist him and part of me wants the exact opposite–here’s where I’M glad she’s strong but at the same time I want her just a little bit helpless.

The flow of the story was good–a bit slow like I said in the beginning, but things really started to pick up a third of the way through and I liked (don’t hit me) the secondary characters at times a bit more than I liked the main story.

What I hated: The slow build–I’m more of a fast paced kinda gal and I could have done without all the internal woe is me.

What I loved: It’s Paris, Enough said. I was waiting for this book and I do believe it did deliver what I wanted I was just greedy and wanted it all at once.

Miss Showalter is without a doubt a seriously talented author with a ridiculous amount of books under her belt, she delivers well though out stories. This is definitely one of them.

I give it four roses, I wouldn’t read it again because it was pretty long and a bit slow in the beginning but I WOULD recommend it to all of my friends because this is hands down one of my favorite paranormal series, ever.

This was a really good story. I liked both Sienna and Paris...I've been rooting for them to work things out for a while now so I'm happy to see it finally happen.

Sienna is a hunter that wishes she was a romance writer. Sienna lost her sister at a young age and later, was recruited into the hunters by a boyfriend that convinced her that all of humanity's troubles (including losing her sister) were caused by demons that she could help destroy. Sienna tried to do her part but when she was made host to the demon of Wrath, she realized she'd been on the wrong side the whole time.

Paris is one of the immortal warriors that was responsible for opening Pandora's box. As a way to imprison the demons and punish the men that released them, the Greek gods decided to make the immortal warriors hosts to the demons. Paris was made the host to the demon of promiscuity. He can't sleep with the same woman twice but if he doesn't have sex daily he'll weaken and eventually die.

Paris and Sienna met a few books back when Paris was really low on power and needed a woman. He met Sienna and liked her so he decided to seduce her. Unfortunately, Paris didn't know that Sienna was a hunter and she ends up drugging and capturing Paris. Paris is able to escape the hunters but having discovered that he can have sex with Sienna more than once, he decides to take her with him and hunters end up killing her before they can escape. Paris was torn up about losing Sienna and tried to find a way for them to be together again. Unfortunately, this brings Sienna to the attention of Cronos and when Wrath is freed from his host, Cronos puts Wrath in Sienna. Cronos holds Sienna captive while Paris has been tearing through anyone and anything that will help him get closer to finding Sienna.

Paris finds Sienna in a separate dimension in the heavens. Since she died while he was trying to escape with her, Paris isn't sure if she'll hate him or not. Since she's long since figured out how evil the hunters are and how wrong she was, Sienna realizes that Paris and the other LotU are decent men and didn't deserve all the crap they've been dealt. Sienna and Paris come together at first with them both thinking that their reunion will only be temporary but every second together makes the thought of being separated that much worse. They both soon realize that they want to stay together but there's much drama going on and it seems like most everyone is determined to use Sienna as a tool whether she likes it or not. I will say that there's a lot going on in this story and the series storyline takes a major jump forward! Things are rough for Sienna and Paris but they do end things starting a well deserved HEA together.

This was a really enjoyable story. I liked Sienna and how she grew into a better version of herself as she learned how her new world worked. I've always kind of liked Paris and I felt bad for him...the way he always had to have sex with women he didn't want to stay alive. The poor guy just wanted someone to love him and I'm so glad he found that in Sienna. Overall, the story was really good with some surprises at the end. I'd recommend this story and series. :D

* note - I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator did a very good job.

I can't tell you how happy I was to join this tour. There is two reasons why, or maybe a few reasons. One, I love this series and let myself get behind. Two, I thought this was a real good reason to start reading the series again. And three, I really do love her books and love talking about them!

To be honest I don't know how or why I'm so behind on this series. I use to read them almost the second I got that. In fact, I couldn't wait to read Paris and Sienna story.

Or at least I thought I couldn't wait!

It looks like I could since it's now 2016 and this came out in 2012. So what the hell happened? I have no clue. I could blame it on the page count but to be honest the rest of the books are that much shorter. The Darkest Seduction just looks very large and intimidating, very much like the Lords themselves.

I've even picked it up once or twice with no such luck. So this time I had to read it. And boy and I'm glad. I couldn't figure out what stopped from not reading it before. I really enjoyed, The Darkest Pleasure. It made me laugh one minute and tear up the next. It's the whole romance package.

So much happens in the story. You won't be able to stop once you start. You see both Paris and Sienna in a different light. They are much more then they appear. I'm keeping secrets here but I can't help myself it's better to learn those secrets for yourself.

What I loved is that there are so many of the old characters in the story. Even though this is Sienna and Paris story, you catch up with the others and what's going on in their lives too. I like that in a series. The other characters don't need to be front and center, we just need a quick look.

RATING: 4.5 STARS

This is, perhaps, the most highly anticipated story of the Lords of the Underworld, especially given the amount of time and angst invested into Paris’ story. It’s been a long time coming, and fortunately for fans, it does not dissatisfy. The Darkest Seduction is a crucial step-up from its predecessor in many ways – an excitement-fueled, sizzlingly seductive, darkly intense addition to Gena Showalter’s addictively readable paranormal LotU series.

Paris, Keeper of Promiscuity, is everything expected and a whole lot more. His is a character that instantly surges from the pages from the very first moment of his introduction in an exquisitely sexy style, keeping his demon sated while still reveling in the company of his fellow Lords, making him an instant favourite. Through the series development however, we see flashes of the encumbrance that is being the Lord of Sex – the heartaches, anguish, hate, and desirous feelings for more, all accompanied with the aftermath of extreme self-loathing, guilt and humiliation. In this, at long last, we get the unveiling of Paris, absorbing his every emotion, his every desire, his tenaciousness to keep his demon in check, and his willingness to find and save Sienna, along with him. Showalter has an uncanny ability to capture a man’s emotions and lust, and with Paris it is shown to the utmost discretion.

Although what starts out as an awful encounter taking root as animosity, Sienna is ultimately the best match for our beloved hero. Along with possessing the demon of Wrath, she possesses the very thing that Paris needs; forgiveness. Her ability to genuinely forgive Paris’ inability to remain faithful, instead understanding his predicament and constantly putting his wellbeing above all else, grants him amnesty, soothing his battered soul and giving him the feelings of true love Sex has deprived him of. Their relationship starts with distrust, but slowly builds into a strong bond. There is no jealousy (beyond the hot alpha male possessiveness!) of past or current actions between the two, and most remarkably there is no infidelity, Showalter exempting us the torture and misery, instead leaving two characters who from the minute they connect display nothing but love and complete faith for one another, however cruel the circumstances.

Along with being an exceptional gratification of a long awaited tale, The Darkest Seduction is also a pivotal point in regards to the Lords’ continuing battle with the Hunters and the search for Pandora’s box, beginning the chrysalis of a storyline that will immensely affect all the characters through its progression. The action-packed plot couples with Showalter’s weaving all the lives of the Lords’ together to make one cohesive story. The multiple POVs that were a bother in the prior book proved to be fitting in this, taking us deeper into the lives of Paris and Sienna, and also into many others, specially William and Kane. My only quibble is the sex scenes. Admittedly, Paris being the Keeper of Sex, I was expecting a little bit nice and a lot of naughty, but I found the sex scenes to be timid, at odds with his character, yet very suitable with the story and romance.

Overall, this installment is one not to be missed, bringing forth essential pieces to the proverbial plot puzzle, and reaffirming my crazed fandom for Gena Showalter’s work. A definite must read!

This story is one many fans (myself included) have been waiting for. Paris has changed so much since the first Lord of the Underworld book. From lighthearted sex addict (that part is mostly because of his demon) to depressed ambrosia (drugs) addict, with only one goal in his life: to get Sienna back no matter what. Sienna is technically dead, but because she is paired with the demon of Wrath she still has some corporal presence. Paris seeks the help of the minor goddess Viola who is paired with the demon of Narcissism and she can also see the dead, which is what he needs. When he finally finds Sienna that's when the trouble only starts. It seems like everyone needs Sienna on their side in the ultimate fight for power; Zacharel needs to protect her so she can fight with the angels, Cronos wants her infiltrating the Hunters' camp and be his spy, Gaea wants to turn her against Cronos, Galen just wants to kill her and all Paris wants is Sienna to be safe by his side.

Once again Gena Showalter gives us a book filled with action, romance and fierce drool-worthy warriors. Finally it was Paris' turn and I'm glad that he got his chance at happiness, but what I liked most about this book was that the background story (that continues through all the books) got an epic turn in events. As in, from this moment on everything will be different and I absolutely didn't saw this coming, which I like.

One of my new favorite characters in Zacharel, he's a warrior angel who has to protect Sienna and convince her to fight for the Heavens. This guy gives stoic a whole new meaning. He doesn't believe in emotions or even just lust and doesn't understand how other people can . The most wonderful news is, he gets his own book (Wicked Nights) where we will learn all his dark secrets. Like why he always has snow falling around him? Why doesn't he believe in love? What did he do wrong to be punished like that?...

So if you like not so angelic angels, demon warriors, scheming Titans, wacky gods and brainwashed humans, you should definitely read this book! I do recommend reading the other eight books first, otherwise it might get very confusing to follow what is going on.

Oookay, to say the least that I had been waiting SO LONG for this book is an understatement! And as a heads up - while you can definitely read this book as a standalone, you get SO MUCH MORE out of it if you read the whole series first. I think you'd understand more of what was going on - plus you would get more of Paris' and Sienna's stories and development. Especially Paris. And throughout the whole series you are REALLY rooting for Paris and hoping against hope he gets his happy ending. We've been waiting a long time for his book to come in the series, and it definitely doesn't disappoint!

And man, do you feel bad for Paris throughout this. Because of everything he's had to sacrifice for his friends and to even get close to finding Sienna again, he's become much, much darker. So much so the angels start becoming concerned. Yet he's still hating himself for everything he's done, will have to do, and he keeps telling himself it would be better once he finds her to let her go. (There are so many AWWW PARIS parts it's not even funny.)

Then we get to Sienna, who is the PERFECT girl for Paris. When we first meet her earlier in the series, she's not that strong willed. She definitely grows in the book though. And she's not afraid of Paris and doesn't want him to go.

I can't say too much without giving a LOT away, but this book just blew me away. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I've adored these two characters for a long time and I love them even more now after this book. It's a definite MUST READ!!! :)

Also - shout-out to this BEAUTIFUL COVER! It' s one of my absolute favorites!!!

Wow, what can I say? I've been waiting for Paris' story since he first met Sienna in The Darkest Pleasure (LOTU #3) As hyped as I was I struggled through the first 100 pages. It was sooooo slow. I mean, come on, I've been waiting for four years for these two to get together. When they FINALLY meet up past betrayals put a damper on the reunion, but are fairly quickly resolved. Then, we get treated to numerous chapters of Sienna warring between staying with Paris and (according to prophecies) getting him killed, or leaving him to fulfill the duty that King Cronus guarantees her will assure the survival of all the Lords. Tedious is the only word that comes to mind when trying to describe the drama between these two. I wanted to reach in the book, shake Sienna and yell, "MAKE A DECISION!"

The overall story was good, but I wasn't enthralled. Maybe I just hyped myself up too much. I didn't feel the *spark* that I'm always looking for. Honestly, I found myself far more interested in the side story of Galen and Legion. Not to mention the perilous situation that Kane (Keeper of Disaster) is thrown into.

While some have found the extended length daunting I probably would have been annoyed if it weren't for all the extra stories twirling around. The introduction of the angel Zacharel had me raising an eyebrow. With the situation concerning the Lords being, pretty much resolved, it looks like we're to be treated with a spin-off series featuring Zacharel and his band of bad-boy angels in Wicked Nights scheduled for release in June of this year.

In all, if you've been following the Lords from the beginning you absolutely have to read The Darkest Seduction. It ties up a lot of loose ends and, honestly, is a fun read. But promise yourself you'll stick through the first few chapters or you'll never get to the good stuff :)

The romance is as wonderful, gripping, touching as ever with each couple getting their individual special way of finding their HEA. But the overarching storyline takes up several notches and builds up tension, while still resolving enough for this book to be read alone. Also, the next characters are woven very cleverly into the narrative, giving delicious teases for their own story to be told.
Yes, I highly recommend the whole series to any paranormal romance reader.

As a lover of this series, I have been impatiently waiting for poor Paris, the keeper of Promiscuity, to get his story for, well for.e.ver it seems. He is not my all time favorite lord, but I like him and I hated seeing him turn into that dark, mooning , drug addicted guy over his lost and gone Sienna.

Thankfully Gena brought it home for me in this great and surprising tale. Like Strider's book, Paris' book spent more time focused on Paris' story which is a good thing. Not to say there were not a few side line sections and it was great to have the whole gang involved in this one, but it kept the story more interesting and made for a more intense plot.

Intense, yeah, this was definitely a return to the feel of the earlier books in that regard. The book opens with several threads going on at once. Gena does a good job of handling this without giving me whiplash by finishing off the scenes before switching over though I know some will still find the scene switches aggravating.
Sienna, the new keeper of Wrath and dead/undead, is trapped in one of Cronus horrid hideaways where he keeps her imprisoned with plans to unleash her on his enemies. Paris enters the picture still with that gritty determination to find a way to see the dead, find Sienna and then rescue her with unclear plans for the afterwards. Kane is still imprisoned in hell with hellish things being done to him (need an intervention here, Gena! Poor thing already had it bad as the keeper of disaster). Ashlyn is right on the verge of giving birth. And, hmm, the angelic warrior contingent has bought into the game involving Paris and Sienna.

From here, it is one long twisted plot that unlocks some of the secrets that Cronus has been keeping, shows where Cronus and Rhea's plotting is headed, and works through the huge barriers that separate Paris from his happily ever after with Sienna, and woo-baby there are plenty. There is a huge grand finale style ending that knocked me for a loop and opened up things for the conflicts to go in a new and interesting direction. There was also the set up for the new spin off series about the fallen angels. If you have been intrigued by Zacharel from the last few books, you will finally get down to his story there.

As to characters, I really loved the match up between Paris and Sienna. They had a lot to work through as they are almost entirely different individuals from when they first met. I was not on-board with the changes in Paris through these last several books, but I am now reconciled to what he is by the end of this one. I was really intrigued by what she is doing with Galen and Legion. New lords were introduced in this book and I look forward to getting the skinny on them, but the real scene-stealer was a secondary character that is new, but I hope will be sticking around. Viola, the minor goddess of the underworld and keeper of Narcissism is too much. Because of her demon, she is so stuck on herself and annoying to others. She has this annoying habit of 'screeching' (goddess version of tweeting) to her followers about everything and she has this hideous lethal beast of a dog she calls Princess. Though they were pretty much minor roles, it was great to have all the lords and their mates back to visit.

Usually, I can work out who will get their story in the next book, but this one offered up several possibilities and as I love the series I don't care who it is just so that Gena Showalter hurries and delivers the next installment.

This by far worth more then 5 stars, since the beginning I couldnt wait for Paris's story and the one woman that can calm his demon. All the others lead up to the big battle with the Titan king and his demise that this covered all the questions I had and covered with the romance that was in the making with Paris and Sirenna. Sirenna lost so much in her life and the one other person she loves more then Paris will come to the light only to be taken before Sirenna can save her. Wait until you meet the newest bundles of Lords, and the unfortunately how William had to help bring them into the world without loosing Ashlyn and Smith & Wesson (two of many names givin). Poor Legion she has to place her self in the hands of the enemy to save one of her friends, from one hell to another she needs someone to help her with her tragic imprisonment and bring light into her life.

Paris carries the demon of Promiscuity in him. This is the punishment for his part in opening up the box guarded by Pandora. Zeus punished his warriors, the Lords he had built to guard him and the other Gods and Goddesses for this by putting an escaped demon in each warrior.

In Book 2 of the series, The Darkest Kiss, Gena tells the story of how Sienna, a Hunter who seduces and then drugs Paris into oblivion, making him a captive of the Hunters. They want to experiment on him and then kill him to take the demon. Paris is not able to have sex for several days and weakens to the point he is dying. The hunters finally send Sienna in to try to save his life so that he can be examined further. She brings him back to full strength and he breaks away, taking her with him. As they get free of the compound where he is being kept, the Hunters shoot, hitting her three times, killing her.

That is the background of the story told in the Darkest Seduction. Paris has hunted for her for seven books and he finally finds her. She has been given the demon of Wrath, taken from Aeron when he died. She is being held by Cronus as a pawn in the war and Paris is wanting to take her back.

This book has a lot of twists and turns. There is not as much of the group stories with all the Lords as in other books but we do get a few tie-in's to what is going on.

One side storyline is Kane's, the carrier of the demon of disaster. William is with Paris for a lot of the book and the banter between the men is pure fun.

Sienna and Paris keep trying to get together but circumstances keep them apart and this drags the story out somewhat and becomes tedious. There were times when I was wishing we could get rid of the back and forth, "I will sacrifice for you" stuff and let the couple find each other. One thing that I really found long and slow was the almost word-for-word recounting of Paris' first meeting with Sienna. Yes, I know Gena put it in there so that someone picking this up as a first book would know what was going on but it really detracted from the pace of the story for those of us who have been reading the series all along.

Viola. The keeper of the Demon of Narcissism. This character is a real strange, funny, and somewhat grating character. I wasn't sure any character could top the Harpies or Anya in the previous books but Viola tops them all. I do wonder who she is going to end up with and how that happily ever after is going to happen.

The book has a very interesting twist at the end, one I did not see coming. It is not often that a writer can make me put a book down, sit and reflect on what I just read and then just say "oh wow." but Gena managed to do that with Darkest Seduction. This twist made the entire book fantastic and left me wanting to read the next one soon.

Overall, this is a good book. I would love to give it a "great" rating but for the dragging first part.

Couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. Paris was or rather is my favourite Lord. Especially with all that he had to go through for his HEA, Not to mention all the women he had to go through in order to finally get what he wanted above all else. His one and only Sienna. The darkness and cravings and the killings. He was so strong and so optimistic in finding her. He craved normalcy and monogamy just like every one else and especially like his brothers in arms. The passion and sacrifices he made was courageous and brave , which drew me in to continue with reading the book because I wanted to know if he would get his woman or not. He even made me cry a little. I loved reading Paris and Sienna

I have to agree with other three to four stars reviews. We waited for Paris's story and his HEA, and then you get a book where the first hundred pages you just think 'when does it start?'
Some of the steps in Paris's process of realizing he's in love seemed a little weird and kind of upside-down. But somehow that can make the story fun too.
Like others, I wasn't annoyed with the length of the book, on the contrary those other side stories were sometimes more interesting than the sienna-doesn't-know-what-she-wants part.
The story seemed good, but yes, there was something missing. I can't put my finger on it, but you might call it 'spark'. I even missed this something regarding the other Lords and their interaction with Paris.
Other than that, the story made me happy in the end though it took a while to get there and the book (except for the first hundred pages) nevertheless pulls you out of reality for a while.

I have been looking forward to Paris and Sienna's story ever since she died. The tension just kept mounting with Paris's obsession and depression from previous books. So this book wasn't what I was expecting.
I expected the new location because Paris and Sienna should have time alone together, however I didn't expect the other Lords to migrate with them.
I also didn't expect Paris to be a jerk toward Sienna, he had been agonising over what happened to her, where she could be and how she was and he didn't communicate his feelings when he finally got to her. I was a bit disappointed with their reunion.
However I love Sienna, she has come into her own as a character. She has realised her own strength of will, her determination and courage just emphasises how much she has evolved. I am extremely glad that Paris and Sienna finally have their HEA together and I feel comfortable with where the Lords are and the resolutions that come around at the end. I am looking forward to Wicked Nights.

Perhaps the most highly anticipated of the Lords of the Underworld series given the length of time we've followed Paris and Sienna's tragic courtship, The Darkest Seduction doesn't let us fans of the series down, the moments we've spent physically aching for them every time we've received small snippets of their lives in the other Lords' books more than worth it as we get their full story in gloriously rich detail. We've had to watch Paris, previously full of life and charm and always quick with a laugh, lose a little piece of that light and charisma with each book, his guilt over his role in Sienna's death and subsequent undeath starting out a small dark blot on his heart and spreading with each page read until darkness and vengeance have almost entirely consumed him. As a result, we find ourselves spending long minutes just staring at the image of Paris and Sienna on the cover, desperately wanting to crack the spine but also utterly apprehensive to do so knowing the journey to happiness for them will be long and painful.

Paris, Keeper of Promiscuity, leaps from the pages in the very first book in a deliciously sexy blaze of glory, seeming to revel in the needs of his demon while verbally sparring with his fellow Lords in a way that makes him an instant favorite, taking possession of our hearts as easily as he does all of those he seduces. As the series progresses however, we see small glimpses of the burden he bears as the Lord of Sex, the broken hearts, tears, curses, and pleas for more he leaves in his wake piling one atop the other to create a mountain of self-loathing and shame so great we want nothing more than to reach in and assure him his deeds done to satisfy his demon do not define him as a man. In this, finally his story at last, we experience his every emotion along with him, his desire to find and save Sienna in a way he wasn't able to previously as well as his fear that Sex's wants--separate but absolutely linked to his own-will inflict on her wounds deeper and more agonizing than the ones he's already caused churning our guts as much as they do his.

Sienna is everything we could possibly want for Paris, a woman whose ability to forgive all his real and perceived sins acts as balm to his turbulent soul, granting him absolution and bestowing on him all the love he's adamantly denied himself. Where she could condemn him for his inability to remain faithful, she offers only understanding, repeatedly putting his health and welfare above any jealousy the idea of his being with someone else brings forth, and proving to him again and again that the fragile trust they're building is what's most important to her. While Sienna's infinite understanding of Paris's need to sleep with someone else should they be parted for any length of time could have been frustrating-our own inability to overlook repeated infidelity, however necessary, preventing us from being as understanding as she is-Ms. Showalter spares us the torture and torment of cheating in this tale, instead giving us two characters who from the moment they come together on the pages show one another nothing but love and respect.

The Darkest Seduction, in addition to being a stunning fulfillment of a desire a long time coming, is also a crucial book with regard to the Lords' ongoing battle with the Hunters and the search for Pandora's Box, giving us a beautiful relationship as well as some incredibly profound developments that will hugely affect all the characters moving forward. Overall, this installment is one not to be missed, a true delight to read and one we can't wait to flip back to the beginning and start all over again.

Let me start out by saying that I am a huge, huge fan of the Lords of the Underworld series. And like everyone else, I have been anxiously awaiting the story that would give poor Paris his HEA. This book gave me all the things I wanted -and even worked in some amazing surprises-- but it didn't quite live up to its potential for me.

The biggest problem is simply that the book is bloated. It's too long and stuffed with too much stuff. I was excited when I first saw how thick it was, but it was actually a hindrance to the storytelling. The first 100 pages or so really dragged. It didn't feel anything like the snarky, snappy, and sexy series I love. It was a portrait of a miserable Paris and a miserable Sienna, each enduring their own tragedies as they dream of a reunion. This could have been streamlined enormously and still conveyed the same things. It isn't until Paris finally tracks down his long-lost woman, that the book becomes engaging at all. Maybe around page 150.

**PLOT POINTS AHEAD**

Once Paris and Sienna are together, you can start to see the sparks. And in their interactions, the book has some of its best moments. After all, their reunion is what we've all hungered for. But Paris has changed so much, he is almost unrecognizable from the character we once knew. I know he's been through a lot, but I would have liked to see a few more glimpses of the suave Lord of Promiscuity. This guy is supposed to be the end-all, be-all Lothario and he just didn't deliver. Yeah, the sex is hot, but no more so than with any of the other Lords.

We're introduced to a slew of new characters, from the annoying Lord of Narcissism to three random Lords stuffed in a castle turret. I could have done without all of them. We also get a healthy dose of Zacharel, which is no doubt designed to set up Showalter's new Angels of the Dark series. And I'll admit... I'm intrigued.

There were some things I really did enjoy. Surprisingly, I liked the Galen and Legion sidestory and I find myself really rooting for these two to make a go of it. We got the set-up on Kane's story with the female Horseman. And we got a few new teasers on the enigma that is William the Dark. All of that was great --as were the fantastic developments on the Cronus/ Rhea front-- and a shocking tidbit about Strider's history.

Yet, the book didn't quite satisfy. Maybe it's because it took too long to get to the good stuff. Maybe it's because Paris isn't Paris anymore. I don't know. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't everything I hoped it would be. 3 1/2 stars.

Finally, Paris and Sienna. I have been dying to see how their story ended and I was not at all disappointed. My heart broke for Paris when Sienna died. I couldn't imagine living life the way he did and when you finally find that one woman you can be with again, she dies in your arms. Her death totally destroyed Paris. And to make matters worse, you have to sit back and watch all of your best friends find women and fall in love. But, good things happens to those who wait and that is definitely what happens to Paris and Sienna.........Nothing but GOOD things!!!!!! I just love how everything turned out for them..........

I admit, Lords of the Underworld is not my favorite Gena Showalter series, I prefer her Alien Huntress but since I've read all of the LOA books and I always need something new to read, I got this. I was excited it was so thick but as others have said, quantity doesn't equal quality. I also admit that Paris is not my favorite Lord. The beginning of this book is just boring! I had to force myself to read it and it finally got better. I am more intrigued by the side stories than the main pairing! And when do we get the story of poor hot Torin, the keeper of disease??? I can't wait to see how she handles that since he can't touch anyone but he has always intruiged me, I admit I like blondes!!! It's a fairly entertaining read but she still can't hold a candle to Kresley Cole or JR Ward, even Larissa Ione, I prefer. I'd still recommend it.

Brilliant, Creative, and Mind Blowing!

Absolutely Fantastic! I mean just WOW! I know I can't say enough to tell everyone what a great series Gena Showalter has woven. Paris story is astounding in the fact that this lord of sex who gives nothing but shattering pleasure to everyone he pleases finally finds his one true mate Sienna. It is kind of sad he will no longer be our sexy playboy but sweet that he found that special person to calm and sate his demon.

So many things happen in this story, sure it is Paris story but many things around him from the built up of each lords story finally comes to a semi climax and let me tell you it is a shocker. Here are a few things that I have to mention because after reading 9 installments in this series it is good to do a recap. First let me say though that this story kept me captivated and glued to the pages. It had me laughing out loud from the bantering between the characters and making me fall in love with them all over again.

So to start with my recap along with my opinion, here goes:

1. Galen, the Keeper of Hope and Jealousy - he totally has the hots for Legion and will do anything to get her. He is also suppose to be the one who will behead Cronus according to the perceived interpretation from All Seeing Eye. Big surprise in the end - LOL

2. Legion - has become frail, withdrawn and is dieing inside since she was rescued from hell. She hasn't spoken to anyone since she got out of hell but that soon changes when Galen kidnaps Ashlyn and wants to bargan for a trade for Legion.

3. Maddox (Keeper of Violence) and his mate Ashlyn (has supernatural abilities) who happens to be pregnant carring twins has to be the sweetest couple. When Ashlyn is kidnapped by Galen it throws her into Labor, Maddox goes crazy of course until she is rescued, however the situation becomes intense because she is in labor and only one person can deliver her demon babies - yep you guessed it "William". This part of the story was so cute because of the nick names William tries to bestow upon them like "Murder & Mayhem", "Pistol & Shank", and "Smith & Weston" regardless of the unusual names the baby demons gave themselves "Ever & Urban".

4. William, I absolutely love him, he cracks me up with his conceitedness. His being is still a mystery to me because he seems to have powers no one fully knows he has. Yes he is suppose to be son of Hades and suppose to have fathered the 4 horsemen, but there is more to him than we know and I can hardly wait for his story if he gets one.

5. Hades - Father of Lucifer (Ruler of Hell), Williams father, and master of the dark shadows who eats souls. I found it interesting that he comes to the forefront in this story and now has me curious of what his role will become and if he will find a mate amongst the lords.

6. Torin - Keeper of Diease, also now possess the All Seeing Eye. I'm still curious to find out if he will ever find a mate that can be with him. Cronus has promised him a woman that he will be able to touch, i wonder who that woman is. But after the ending of the story, what will happen.

7. Danika (human) & Reyes (Keeper of Pain), Kaia (Harpy) & Strider (Keeper of Defeat), Gwen (Daughter of Galen) & Sabin (Keeper of Doubt), Aeron (Former Keeper of Wrath) & Olivia (Angel), Amun (Keeper of Secrets) & Haidee (Former Hunter), Lucien (Keeper of Death) & Anya (Minor Goddess of Anachy), Gideon (Keeper of Lies) & Scarlet (Keeper of Nightmares), Lysander (Warrior Angel) & Bianka (Harpy) - all played rolls in the story and it was neat to see them again.

8. Kane (Keeper of Disaster) - I totally love him, he is so loyal to his buddies but at the same time I feel bad for him because he is nothing but disaster. He ends up in hell with William but William escapes and Kane does not. He is rescued finally by an unknown female (I think it is one of the 4 horsemen) but no one knows where he is. I hope he gets a mate, he so deserves it.

9. Viola (Minor Goddess - Keeper of Narcissism) is new to the series and she was annoying and irritating, I wonder which warrior she will end up with, maybe the author should stick her with Hades - LMAO!

10. Cronus & Rhea - the King and Queen of the Titans so deserved what they got in the end. Now that they no longer exist, hopefully pandora's box can be found and destroyed.

Last but least, Sienna totally surprised me, so unexpected that she would be the one to do the deed and though she is the new host for the demon Wrath, she is now the new Queen to the Titans and to top it off, she gets Paris as her King/husband - LOL

After this book I have many questions like how many more books will there be in this series? Will Cameo (Keeper of Misery) get a mate? Will Torin (Keeper of Disease) get a mate? What about the 3 new comers "Cameron (Keeper of Obsession), Winter (Keeper of Selfishness), Pukinn/Irish (Keeper of Indifference)"? What about Viola, who will she end up with and what about her dog Princess Fluffikans who happens to be a Vampire Tasmanian Devil - LOL? What about Gilly, will her and William end up together - I sure hope not? Most important - what will happen to the warrior angel Zacharel, will he ever experience love, will he make it through his punishment with the other fallen angels to redeem themselves? Gosh, there is just so many things that are addicting and my inquiring mind just has to know - LOL

I wish this series was an HBO show, I'd rather watch this than True Blood and thats saying alot especially since I am a true fan of True Blood.

Excellent Read!!!!

Oh My GOODNESS...

I already knew Gena Showalter could write a steamy romance. If I need my socks to be rocked, or an emotion to be catered to, she's the author I let sweep me off my feet and carry me to places I can only envision in my dreams. But after hearing her vivid descriptions vibrate though my ear - literally I felt vibrations - I utterly fell in love with her words all over again. I don't know if this is the steamiest Lords of the Underworld novel she's written - it was definitely one of the longest - or if it was because I listened to it via audiobook instead of reading the words myself, but I will gladly listen to every book she writes from now on, no longer wanting to fill my eyes with the words but instead fill my ears with the passion.

That's right...passion...

In case you need your memory refreshed or you have somehow (insert *gasp* here) missed out on this wicked adventure, the Lords of the Underworld is a series about a group of immortal guards to the Olympians who were possessed by the elusive evils of mankind - or in this case demons - from Pandora's Box (ex: wrath, lies, secrets, defeat, rage, pain, misery, etc.) after releasing them into the world. In each installment, Showalter takes us on an emotional, and highly addictive, ride as these warriors find true love in the most unlikely places. In The Darkest Seduction (book 9) we are following the heartbreaking story of Paris, the warrior cursed with the demon Promiscuity. Can a wounded man who is doomed to sleep with a woman in order to maintain his health and strength find love with the only woman who arouses, challenges, and calls to him on every level? I didn't think it could happen, but I'm so glad it did.

Paris and Sienna, a love that looked disaster-prone from the beginning. The couple had so many hurdles to cross it seemed impossible Showalter could make it work, complete opposites, both with demons, inner and outer, to fight. Paris encased by a new evil and Sienna with her shame and guilt. I never liked Sienna. She irritated me from the very first moment Paris ran into her a couple of books ago. There was always something about the arrogant woman (not to mention how she treated my Paris) that rubbed me the wrong way and to think she was going to be Paris's love interest threw me into a frenzy. But what happened over the course of the story changed my viewpoint. Not only did I begin to like Sienna, I began to love her for the depths of her determination. But of course making readers love a character you should hate is a Showalter specialty.

So much happens in this book. Ringing in at over 500 pages not only does Gena create a fascinating love story, but she also brought war to our Lords. For the fans that have been waiting for something EPIC to happen in the LotU story arc, this is the book where it all starts to come together. Battles happen, lines are drawn, sides are chosen, enemies and alliances make themselves known. The well of betrayal runs deep in this novel and so does the repercussions. I was gritting my teeth as the narrator unfolded the story from his lips. Gosh it was crazy! On-the-edge-of-your-seat exciting. Side stories ran rampant in this book as we get to see more interaction between Cronus and Rhea, an introduction to Galen and Legion's love story (*fingers crossed*), Zacharel and the fallen angels (which alludes to her new Angels of the Dark series). Like I said, it's a lot to take in, but I think if you go the audiobook route like I did you might not find yourself so overwhelmed.

Anya, William, and the Lord of Narcissism Viola (yes there are women Lords), are all spectacular, funny, and downright crazy. Love, love, love them! Viola is a hoot. She's actually borderline crazy although you can't blame her she's a narcissist. Showalter also seemed to be setting up Kane's storyline, and if you know anything about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse then you know his story is going to be amazing. We also get a glimpse at possibly more demon Lords, and a couple of new additions to the Lord family...babies!

Overall, fangirl gushing aside, The Darkest Seduction is definitely dark, twisted, emotional, amusing, steamy, and one of my personal favorites from the series. For those of you new to the series, although the novel can work as a standalone title, I urge you to read the series from the beginning. Behind every happily ever after romantic storyline, is a one-of-a-kind adventure that I promise will keep you on the edge of your seat, toes curled, and heart pounding. Buy it, read it, listen to it, I don't care how you do it as long as you fall in love with these Lords

Our Review [by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L Olson]:

The Darkest Seduction is the ninth installment of the LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD series and for me personally, was one I have been waiting 8 books for. I was so worried that my anticipation would cloud my judgment of the story but I should have never worried. The series continues to get better and better with each new release and Gena never disappoints.

The first thing I want to say about this book is that I felt that Gena grew as a writer even from just the last installment if that's possible. I noticed the changes immediately after starting the book and I felt so proud for her. I don't know if it's because Paris spoke through her with such clarity or what, but it was beautifully written in all regards.

Paris, possessed by the demon of Promiscuity, or "Sex" as he calls him, is incredibly tortured. He's gone through so much and is in a constant state of guilt because he's been forced by his demon to hurt those he loves. When he meets Sienna (in "The Darkest Passion") he thinks he might finally have a chance at true happiness, but things aren't always as they appear and you can't always get what you want.

Losing his chance at Sienna kind of made him crazy and as the series continues after "The Darkest Passion" you see Paris becoming darker and darker and even more tortured. "The Darkest Seduction" starts out with a true display of that darkness within Paris as he fights his way to try and find and save Sienna's soul in the heavens where she's being kept captive by Cronus after being cursed with the demon of Wrath. He does so much to find and free her and you can't help but cheer him on the entire way and feel sorry for everything that he goes through at the same time.

When Sienna finally gets her chance to explain to Paris that she didn't mean what she said to him the last time they saw one another it's incredibly touching and watching their relationship blossom as the story continues despite every obstacle thrown in their path is incredible.

While this is Paris and Sienna's book, SO much more happens. There are major side stories for Kane, Galen, Legion, Ashlyn and her twins, William and his daddy Hades, and some new Lords who we had not yet met, such as the keepers of Narcissism, Obsession, Indifference and Selfishness, which help to make this book, in my honest opinion, the best LOTU yet.

To say that "The Darkest Seduction" is the pinnacle book of the series thus far would almost be an understatement. It is jam packed with goodness at every turn and I devoured all 504 pages in 1 sitting.
LITERAL ADDICTION Paranormal Book Club gives The Darkest Seduction a well deserved 5 Skulls.

ALL Gena Showalter fans need to read this book, and we'd recommend it to all Paranormal Romance addicts and even Urban Fantasy readers as well because there is plenty of darkness and to keep those readers happy.

I love Gena Showalter and the Lords of the Underworld! I cannot wait for the next book.

I've enjoyed this series, up until this one. The beginning of the book rambled on and on, and where's the plot anyway. Well, you have to wait for the last part of the book, to find it. Luckily, it gets alittle better halfway through. I think we have another author here, trying to punch out one book after another so fast, that the writing really reflets it. This installment could be the last for the Lords, but is the beginning of a new series. For me, it's a good ending for the Lords,so I'll stop there with this series.

This is the most anticipated book EVER in this series. I think more often than not you will find a fan or reader of the series mentioning that they were waiting for this book. Why? Well for one Paris is the keeper of Promiscuity and he is destined to bed a different man or woman each time to stay alive. He could never bed the same woman or man, EVER, until he met Sienna. Unfortunately, Sienna was killed shortly after meeting Paris and he burned her body in a warriors funeral. Later he finds out that Cronus has her spirit trapped. Paris goes into a deep depression because all he wants more than anything is to settle down with one person. He loathes the fact that he has to bed someone different all the time. I can't remember when Paris and Sienna met because it was early on in the series and since then you see a rather pathetic Paris who has lost all hope and is just sad. Along the way he develops a dependency on ambrosia which is like crack for immortals. It's just been a real sad ride. Needless to say by the last book I was done with Paris and his whiny ways.

So now we are given this book! The cover has been revealed for a while now but in my hands I have a closer look. I actually start to worry! On the cover you have Paris and his butterfly tattoo which is the sign of the demon. You also have a woman on the cover straddling Paris. She has violet colored eyes and no butterfly tatoo visible AND she is stunning. Yeah I was freaking out thinking this is nothing like Sienna. Sienna is a regular kind of girl, not UGLY but definitely not the one on the cover of this book. I started off worried but calmed myself down enough to convince myself to not jump to any conclusions just yet.

Reading this book for the majority of the time felt like an out of body experience. I kept stopping thinking this book feels so foreign to me. I wasn't sure if it was written by the same author or if the author had had too big of a break between books and forgot the feel of this world. The characters didn't act like themselves at all except perhaps William. Paris and Sienna were pretty awkward for a while and Paris was just so different from the other books! He went from whiny to jack ass murdering immortal. Above all I just couldn't convince myself that Sienna and Paris would end up together at the end of the book. I know Gena Showalter had said they would on her blog but I just felt like it just might not happen. Oh and the never ending pages. It really could have been cut short a few hundred pages. Did I mention that these characters didn't act like themselves?? Yeah well, again, they didn't. There is a part in this book where Strider gives Paris crap for falling for Sienna and gives him an ultimatum. Why is this odd? Everyone in the house knew that Paris was looking for leads that would help him find Sienna. Furthermore, Sienna didn't kill anyone as the enemy and is being treated like a leper when one of the other girls beheaded their friend and was forgiven... WEIRDNESS. I so missed the love these warriors felt for one another and the understanding they had for one another.

So why the 4 stars if I was unhappy or confused for most of the book? The last third of the book. The money pot was in the last third of the book. HONEST to GOD! The author did an awesome job in turning some events around that NO ONE was expecting. She also did an awesome job in tying so many loose ends. You would have thought this was the last book in the series with so many loose ends nicely snipped and cauterized. The twins are finally born after a thousand years, J/K. Not too happy about their names but hey, they are finally here. There is a battle in this book that is completely awesome to read. By the end of the book I believed in Paris and Sienna's love and was truly excited about them. By the end of the book I once again believed in this world that Gena Showalter has created.

I would give it a chance if for nothing else so that you can read the great ending!

Immortal warrior Paris is the keeper of the demon Promiscuity. Paris must have sex daily or he weakens. Not only sex daily, but never with the same person twice. A weak warrior is no good in the fight against evil and Paris has never had a problem staying strong. Until the day he met Sienna Blackstone.

Sienna Blackstone was a Hunter, seeking out the Lords of the Underworld in a quest to kill them and trap the demons they carried in attempt to cleanse the world of evil. Sienna was Bait, meant to lure Paris into a trap and it worked. However, while captive Paris discovered he could have sex with Sienna more than once. What did this mean? Before he could pursue this interesting development, Sienna was shot and killed by her own Hunter brethren in the crossfire that followed Paris's escape.

After her death Sienna's ghost was claimed by Chronos and when Aeron lost his demon Wrath upon his death, Chronos forced Sienna to be Wrath's keeper. While this was happening Paris became an ambrosia addict in an attempt to forget Sienna's death. When Paris discovers that Sienna, while not alive and not dead, is a pawn of Chronos he decides nothing will stop him from reaching her. So begins 'The Darkest Seduction.'

I worried that Paris's story would be hard to get into, but I shouldn't have worried at all. Another excellent Lord of the Underworlds book! Multiple storylines have been slowly coming together in each book over the course of the series and this book is no exception. There is a lot going on in this book and I love multiple POVs! Well-written, excellent characters, steamy sex, humor, scheming, plotting, kicking ass and a tortured hero who is channeling the Dark Side. *satisfied sigh*

I can't wait for Kane's story as well as William's and Cameo's. Poor Cameo, keeper of Misery. Her mate should be interesting and special. Though I really think she needs a deaf person who can't hear her misery-laden voice. *shudder*

I will be so sad when this series is over.

Carla's Review:

The Darkest Seduction is the ninth installment in the LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD series and the most anticipated books in the series. I know I have been dying for Paris' story and could not wait to read it. The LOTU has been on my top favorite series list since The Darkest Night was released and every book just keeps getting better. As with my other reviews, I'm only going to give a rundown of events so I don't spoil the story for readers who have not gotten a chance to devour this book yet. And you will devour it. I finished it in two sittings and that's only because I had to go to work. Stupid job!! º

The Darkest Seduction is the story of Paris, possessed by the Demon of Promiscuity. If you've already read the LOTU series, you know Paris is one of the most tortured warriors of them all. Because of his Demon, Paris can never have sex with the same person more than once. He must at least have sex once a day which forces Paris to have sex with a different partner daily, therefore he can never have a relationship. He hates his demon because he's been forced to do things he hated and hurt people he's cared about. Now more than ever he hates his demon because all of the other Lords have found love and are happy with their mates and Paris can never have that. That is...until he met Sienna Blackstone.

Sienna Blackstone was a hunter that we met back in Aeron's story THE DARKEST PASSION. Sienna was brainwashed into believing that the Lords are evil and responsible for every horrible thing that happens in the world. When you read this book, you will understand why she believed this. She tricked Paris when he was at his weakest, drugged him and watched while other Hunters tortured him. Then she had sex with him because the Hunter she was working for told her to do so. Sienna was already deeply attracted to Paris, so deep down she wanted to be with him. After having sex with Paris he regained his strength and realized soon after, that he wanted Sienna again and this was the first woman that ever happened with. While Paris was escaping the Hunters, Sienna was shot and killed and she blamed Paris for her death. Right before she died she told Paris she hated him and this destroyed him. He has become obsessed with her since. Later he finds out that Cronus took Sienna's soul and bound the demon of Wrath to her.
Now Paris is on a mission. He's storming the Heavens and will do whatever necessary to save Sienna from Cronus. He lies, cheats, kills and has sex with whomever he must in order to get Sienna and while doing so, Paris creates a darkness within himself that can never be undone.

Kane is still stuck in Hell. He's been horribly tortured and hoping to die. This book will lead up to Kane's book which is believed to be next. I all I have to say is poor Kane!!

Galen has become obsessed with Legion after events that happened in The Darkest Surrender. He has conflicting emotions towards her that leaves me to wonder if Galen and Legion will be together in the future. Galen sneaks into the Lords Budapest fortress to find and kidnap Legion but Legion is not there. He then decides to kidnap a VERY pregnant Ashlyn to trade her for Legion.
Up until this book I was not crazy about Legion. I hated her in Aeron's book because of the horrible things she did in order to try and get Aeron to be with her instead of Olivia. She was extremely selfish and self centered but I have really grown to like her in this book. She has become very grateful to the Lords for rescuing her from Hell and helping her deal with the horrible things she endured while there. She definitely redeemed herself in my eyes in this book and I am really hoping Legion gets a HEA of her own.

Ashlyn finally has her babies in this book, with the help of William. YES, William saves the day and helps deliver the babies. Wait until you meet the twins. º *BIG GRIN*

Speaking of William, we get to learn a little more about him and we get to meet his big bad daddy Hades. Yup! Hades! And he is seriously one scary dude!

We also get to meet some new Lords in this book. The main one we get to see the most of is Viola, who is possessed by the Demon of Narcissism. Viola LOVES herself and NEVER stops talking about herself. No one can stand to talk to her for more than a few minutes because all she wants to talk about is¡K.herself LOL. She's super funny though and I can't wait to read more about her.
We also meet Cameron who is possessed by the Demon of Obsession, PuKinn (AKA Irish) who is possessed by Indifference and Winter who is possessed by Selfishness. We only get brief time with them but I really hope they will be in more of the future books because I am looking forward to learning more about them.

I have to say that The Darkest Seduction is the Epic book of the LOTU series so far. So much happens, prophecies have came to pass and this book just blew me away. I can keep on going and keep gushing about this book but the review has become way to long LOL. I recommend this book and series to anyone that loves paranormal romance. It can be read as a standalone but for the full effect and story line, I would recommend reading the series in order. Plus, you'll want to know everything about every Lord. It is unknown at this time when the next LOTU book will be released but I will be waiting for however long it takes.

I give The Darkest Seduction 5 out of 5 stars

This is probably the longest awaited book in the series, when we were introduced to Paris and Sienna in the what? 2nd? 3rd? book? (I read those a long time ago). Anyway, in the last book we saw Paris trekking through the heavens to find Sienna. Paris had come a long way from the beginning, from the careless playboy sleeping around all the time to this dark and dangerous and violent lord we see in this book.

I think I definitely like this darker Paris more. Gena Showalter did a great job describing Paris' pain in having to sleep around and not being able to be faithful to women, which was why he sought out Sienna because he could be with her a second time. His path to her was full of obstacles which only goes to show just how much he wanted to be with her. Paris is a great tortured and dark hero wracked full of guilt. I loved reading about his path to redemption!

Oh Sienna, like Paris, she's changed since we first saw her as a Hunter. Now as the prisoner of Zeus and a dead soul barely anyone can see, she thought she imagined it when she first saw Paris. The best part about Sienna and their entire relationship is how honest they're with each other. At first I was afraid the romance development is going to be about misunderstandings again, but Gena Showalter shocked me with characters who were completely honest about their feelings and their situations. What a refreshing change of pace!

I love how strong and courageous Sienna is despite everything she's been through. The fact she could be honest with Paris and trust him is a plus. At first they delude themselves thinking they could leave each other, but of course they come to the realization that they can't live without one another, especially Paris. Their love story is everything I could have hoped for and more! And the sex scenes! *fans herself* Phew, the one thing about being honest is that there aren't any inhibitions when they have sex! And Paris really did bring his A game! Lucky Sienna!

With that said, a lot of the book is spent on the overarching plot line - the fight between Hunters and the Lords and the mysterious Kane. As always, William made me laugh out loud several times. The ending was definitely a shocker. I wonder where Gena Showalter is going with this. There were a few times I felt confused though, like what rules did Cronus break to bring the angels to the war?

Overall, if you're a fan of the series, you definitely have to read this one! If not, well, what are you waiting for?

I was starting to worry when I read some of the reviews but once I got my copy I was happy that this story worked for me. Agree that it is not as strong as some of the previous books in the series but we had seen so much of Paris and Siena and the down ward spiral that was happening with them that it wasn't going to be all sunshine and roses. It was a good wrap up of the hunter story line that still left a few questions unanswered which I'm hoping Kane gets a book, but the new spin off with the angels looks promising.

Hopefully the author will take on board the feedback from fans and be careful not to fall in the same hole as Christine feehan and sherrilyn kenyon have with just churning out the same old stories.

The Darkest Seduction was the best out of all of the "Lords of the Underworld" series, even Reyes's story. Paris's book completely captured my attention, and the plot sure as hell made up for the last two bad books. Paris's story was excellent, and the little sub-stories within didn't detract from the main thread, but instead moved the pace along nicely, without allowing me to get bored. There was also an epic battle at the end, and some strands that had started in previous books were finally wrapped up. Also, I liked Zacharel A LOT, and can't wait for the new Angels of the Dark spinoff series,Wicked Nights . And I was happy to see Hades, such an interesting character, and to get a bit about Kane, which Gena is obviously setting up for a new book, and to learn that Torin will eventually get to touch a woman without causing disease. BUT, even though the cast of characters here were fantastic, you can't take it away from the main man: Paris! Who was awesome, and I even liked Sienna. She may have come across as weak at times, but she sure as hell made up for it with what she did at the end, which rounded things off perfectly, opening the Lords to a new chapter. Also, I liked Galen's infatuation with Legion, as well as finding out he wasn't as big a bastard as we were all led to believe. But again, back to Paris, who definitely lived up to his Lord's title, and gave a hell of a show. P.S. Though, I did go "Ooh yuck" at one thing he did, but I suppose Sienna liked it, and if anyone was to do it and get away with a chick liking what he did, it could only be Paris.

I haven't read any of the previous Lords of the Underworld series so I had no preconceived notions of how the characters in this novel should act or what the previous back stories in the authors other novels had created for them. So I came to this novel without knowing what to expect.

Paris and Sienna are star-crossed lovers, doomed to spend their lifetime apart because Paris is possessed by the demon of lust. He cannot form an emotional and romantic relationship with one woman because he must have so much sex that no one woman could physically or emotionally serve his desires. If he does not have enough sex he will die. Sienna is a Hunter, a woman bound by Honor to kill the Lords of the Underworld but she falls in love with Paris even though she has turned him in and had participated in his capture and torture. But Paris managed to get away and they haven't seen each other for many years when our story opens.

While this is the story of Paris and Sienna's love for each other and the trials they must go through, it is also a story of God's, Goddesses, Demi-gods and all sorts and manner of other supernatural characters. It has battles, wars, political intrigue, covenants made and broken, wisdom and wisecracks. Full of twists and turns it keeps you wondering which of the bad-guys is actually a good guy bad-guy which is always fun. Who can Paris and Sienna trust? Who can we, the reader trust?

I did enjoy the story and found it especially funny that Paris, Lord of Lust had lost his suave manner and was no longer interested in the, shall we call it daily bread, that he needs to keep him alive. It made him more believable and touching. Many of the supporting characters intrigued me and I want to read more about them which means I will be reading more of Ms. Showwalters books.

If I have any real criticism I would say the book is a tad longish and a bit slow over the first 12 chapters or so. But it is worth the time to stay with it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it over broad genres of interest.

Where do I begin?!

First off, let me say, the only reason this book didn't get a five star review is because there was just too much going on outside of Paris and Sienna. Way too much. Hey, I always love me some William. And I loved me some Kane. But when throwing Maddox, Viola, Legion, and even Cronus POV's into the mix...

Yeah. Aside from that, though, Paris and Sienna were everything I imagined. Everything.

Let's start with the hotness factor. Because we all know that it's there! This is Promiscuity we've been waiting for. Now mind you, I shall make you suffer with me simply by showing you what I see every time I think of Paris:

Yes, Sean O'Pry. Hurting yet?

The whole time you're reading this book, there's the never-ending question: Will Paris be able to stay faithful to Sienna? Will they be able to work everything out when there's a million things against them?

In the end, none of those questions mattered. Because even as Paris is desperately trying to convince himself that he has to let Sienna go eventually, his possessiveness and determination to keep her to himself is the definition of what embodies a C.W. Book Review!

One of my fave parts in the book: Zacharel tells Sienna to call him when she's ready to leave Paris ( "You have only to say my name, female, and I will come for you". ). Paris' response?

"Say his name, and sign his death warrant." He didn't give her a chance to respond--not that she knew what to say--but returned to her side and swooped her into his arms.

Nyddi, destroyed. Scrambled. Glitching mentally on a level that is irreversible.

One thing that did enrage me was everyone's "intervention" with Paris, trying to get him to let go of Sienna. I'm sorry, but Haidee anyone? Seriously, as funny as the scene was (gotta love Anya), WTF? Haidee did more damage to the Lords than Sienna ever did, so in my opinion, that wasn't necessary. At all.

And Strider and Paris having sex? WHY COULDN'T WE GET A GLIMPSE OF THAT SCENE INSTEAD????

I'm serious! How can you mention that little tid-bit out of nowhere and not give us a mini-flashback at least?

Sienna was kick-ass. I loved her immensely. When she found Viola all over Paris, who is hard for her against his will, she doesn't simper and merely accept what she's seen. Oh no. The woman starts flinging dresser drawers at him until he has no choice but to dominate her. And so ensues one of the hottest sex scenes in the whole book. I had to stop reading it every few seconds just so I could breathe.

As for the question of Paris' fidelity? OMFG...this is the scene/part that left me a panting mess on the floor. At one point, Paris and Sienna are separated, and Paris starts to weaken. The other LOTU guys start bringing him women to try and save him. Even as close to death as he is, he refuses all of them. All of them!

Have I made my point? Do you all understand how epically this story wrecked me and my poor girly-parts?

The saddest part? I'm all caught up. Have to wait 'till the summer to get Kane. And most important question of all: When am I going to get William/Gillian and Torin/Cameo? 'Cause I needs them so bad!

Loved this book. It had everybody in it. Love the way this book flowed. It was all over the world and or realms. We learn more and more of heaven and hell. All the baddies and goodies were in this book. Lots of action and very fast paced because of the different storylines. I really enjoyed the smooth introduction of Zachareal the Angel from heaven that will spin off to Showalter's new series Angels of the Dark which I have read and is as awesome as this series.

Demon of Promiscuity, Paris, must bed a different woman every day, or suffer and die. The woman he craves above all, and the only woman he seems to be able to bed successfully more than once, is also one of his enemies and now dead. On a mission to find her in Heaven, he goes through hell and back to find and save Sienna, only to discover she's paired with the demon of Wrath.

As all Lords fans, Paris' story was the "it" book. Will he finally find Sienna? Will he get to keep her? Though this was my least favorite in the series for some reason, it was still a satisfying page turner. We also got a preview of Kane's upcoming book next year in the story. I like that we learn Cronus' motive finally, and we now have insight to the Angel series and their motives for Sienna too. The book didn't lack conflict, but it did feel like it resolved too quickly. Still... a hot read. Only three Lords left. Kane, Camryn, and Torin. Also, according to Showalter's site, she is doing a William book also, so we can see if Gilly gets her man, and if the prophesy holds true.

This book continues the saga of the immortal warriors who opened Pandora's box and were cursed to carry within themselves the very demons that they released. The Darkest Seduction is the story of Paris, who carries the demon of promiscuity and his search for his lost love. This storyline was begun in several of the previous novels in the series and now is the focus of the story. It does not stand alone well, as ongoing threads have been woven throughout the series, each book building on the one before it, but it does advance the overall global plot of the series. This story is "typical" of the Lords of the Underworld series in the general plot-hero meets the only one woman who can tame his particular demon. In this case, she happens to be dead and a soul held hostage by evil gods. This does cause the course of true love to not run smoothly. Overall an enjoyable read. I've liked this series mix of supernatural beings and unusual couples. The heat index is moderate to warm-Paris IS the demon of promiscuity after all.

The much anticipated new release in the Lord of the Underworld series, `The Darkest Seduction' has arrived. Like most Showalter fans, I have been waiting on pins and needles for this next journey with my favorite demon harboring Lords.

This is the story of Paris , Lord of Promiscuity, and Sienna Blackstone, ex-Hunter who now carries the demon of Wrath. Their story is one of many ups and downs. Paris and Sienna must overcome their differences and initial judgments of each other and learn to trust one another to survive the upcoming battle.

Through their trials and tribulations, Paris and Sienna fall in love with each other and realize they were made for each other. Their differences compliment each other in ways they didn't know existed. As a couple, they better each other emotionally and mentally.

I absolutely devoured this book. Gena has way of writing that makes her stories live in the minds of the readers. The dialogue is witty and fun and the book is hard to put down. Keep an eye out for the next spinoff series, Angels of the Dark and the first book `Wicked Nights' coming soon.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I have been wondering about Paris and Sienna since we first met Sienna. I have also been wondering all along how Paris would settle down with one woman when he can't sleep with a woman twice. As it turns out Showalter explains this all very nicely and Paris and Sienna's story is wonderfully entertaining and romantic.

Paris, isn't my favorite of the Lords but he has intrigued me over the series. I think this book portrays him more strongly than other appearances of him in the series and the Lord we met in this book was more interesting than in the past.

Sienna's character wasn't that fully developed, in my opinion, and yet she made me like her. Something about her honesty and understanding made her a very fresh character and I believe seeing her in future books will help develop her more.

Overall a pretty good book, though I admit, I'm still partial to Lucien and Strider.

For some reason, this one took me a few chapters to get into the story... but... once I did, it was engrossing... I basically read the book over 3 nights... I hated to put it down to sleep.

This book is Aeron's story, the keeper of Wrath. He has known that he was being watched for a while... but didn't know who or what was doing the watching. That riddle is solved when Olivia, a fallen angel, comes into his life. Legion, Aeron's demon-child, is not happy. AND... Olivia's mentor in heaven isn't happy about Olivia's fascination with Aeron either.

I really appreciate how Showalter interweaves updates of the lives of the other Lords into her story... they've become family to me... and I've already got the next installment, Darkest Lies, on my bedstand ready to start.

If you love paranormal romances and Greek mythology, this series has your name on it! BTW, the ending is amazing and totally unexpected!

I began reading Gena Showalter's writing a year ago and have not been able to find a piece of her work, in an out of this series, that disappoints me. You become so entranced and engrossed in the lives of these characters that, when a new book comes out, you race to get it and do not put it down until you finish which is the only sad part about this series. I have met many people that scoff at romance novels and wonder why I read them, and I always reply that some of the best writing and characters come out of Gens Showalter's work and from other awesome writers just like her. I am never ashamed to be seen reading one of these books and only say people should read them to see for themselves.

Out of the twelve books in the Lord of the Underworld series I have craved and hoped that this one would be the next written, and Gena Showalter did not disappoint. From the beginning these characters' relationship struck me as a cruel impossibility and I always wondered how Gena Showalter would write about these two with the passion that was foreshadowed in the other books. I just hope that one day Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole can collaborate on a novel, or series, so that I can have my two favorite series intertwined.

Really amazing. Hands down, this is my favorite book in the series. Showalter is simply a genius.

I really hope there'll be next books after this 'cause I just can't get enough of those yummy Lords. And besides, Torin, Kane and Cameo still don't have their significant others yet and I'm dying to know their stories as well (especially Torin since he's my 2nd favorite Lord, next to Paris).

Since Paris first appeared on the page back in book one he has been a favorite of mine. I have been waiting for his book for a long time and squealed a little when it showed up on my doorstep. Five hundred pages did seem daunting at first, but I sailed right through them hardly noticing the length at all.

Gena is one of the best paranormal romance authors out there. She is an amazing storyteller and does a fantastic job of weaving all the lives of the Lord's together to make one cohesive story. In The Darkest Seduction we follow Paris and Sienna for the most part, but also get to peek into a couple other characters' lives as well. There are also some snippets of Paris' and Sienna's lives that we have never heard before. There was an incident between Paris and Strider that I found particularly interesting. As for Sienna, we learn more about her family and how she became a hunter, so gaps we once had with these two are filled in. Therefore, we are left with well-developed characters that you cannot help but root for.

There is still plenty of humor laced throughout this book as well. Much of it comes from the banter between William and Paris. Even when facing danger they manage to pick at each other and had me laughing out loud numerous times. One of my favorite scenes is when they are trying to get somewhere that is located at the bottom of a cliff and Paris gives William a helpful "nudge".

"Suddenly William loomed over him, scowling, snarling and bloody, his suit dirt-stained and ripped. "Do you know. How many strands. Of hair I lost. On my way down?"

Whatever. "Math was never my thing, but I'm gonna say you lost...a lot."

Electric-blues glittered with menace. "You are a cruel, sadistic bastard. My hair needs TLC and you....you...Damn you! I've gutted men for less!"

"I know. I've watched you." Paris lumbered to his feet and scanned the rocky bank they stood upon, the crimson ocean lapping and bubbling in every direction. The drawbridge was only a fifty-yard dash away. "Don't kill the messenger, but I'm thinking you should change your dating profile to balding."

Masculine cheeks went scarlet as the big bad warrior struggled for a comeback."

Come on? Those two crack me up! Gena has always managed to pepper humor throughout her books and I often look forward to these hilarious scenarios.

As for the romance, you would think since Paris' demon is promiscuity there would be a lot of action in the bedroom going on, but that was not the case. He is not the same guy we met in book one. Life has altered him severely because of all the hardships he has gone through. Sienna is the same way, her hatred for Paris was intense when she first met him, but death has changed her in many ways. While they are both different, I don't think a relationship between them would have worked with the way they used to be. They both needed to change and the people they are now balances the other out perfectly. When Paris does find Sienna again, the two of them are so full of doubt and uncertainty that they are hesitant to let their true feelings shine through. And who could blame them? They have not exactly had an easy path and both of them have reasons not to trust the other. So it does take some time for them to get together, but once they do Paris easily makes up for the lost time. I really enjoyed watching their romance develop as the book progressed and hoped that they were not doomed because of their unfortunate circumstances.

The plot itself is everything you have come to expect from Gena's books. It was filled with twists and turns and follows the lives of multiple characters. There are quite a few Lord's and their friends in bad situations and their stories are intertwined into this book seamlessly. Surprisingly one of my favorite side plots was between Galen and Legion. Did anyone out there see that coming? I certainty didn't, and I did not think I would ever find myself rooting for Galen, but that is what happened. I am very interested to see how that particular story will play out. Many of the side plots are left up in the air as this book comes to a close and I am not sure whose story is going to be next, but I do have a few guesses. I would personally like to see William's next, but I suspect we still have a couple other stories to go before we get to him.

The ending of this book was amazing! My mouth was literally hanging open when I read certain events. It took me a couple of minutes to wrap my brain around all the repercussions of the final battle and loved every second of it. I am very interested to see how all the lives of the Lord's will be affected because of the last couple of chapters. Gena continues to pull out fantastic surprises that I never see coming and continues to prove her skills as an author over and over.

Overall, this book was another solid addition to the series. It comes in at just over five hundred pages and brings forth a lot of revelations and more pieces to the overall puzzle. I was already a fan of Gena, but this book just reaffirms why I love her so much. This is a series that cannot be missed and I highly suggest you check them out.

As a fan of romance and paranormal fiction- I have read all of Gena Showalter's books. She is great at getting passion down on the page! It took a while to get there, but they did get there in this story. I enjoy a clif hanger like everyone else, but the back and forth between the main characters was a bit trying on the nerves- I wanted to yell at both of them. They couldn't see what was in front of their faces. At the end however, love triumphs and all is well. Good read.

My Rating: 4 stars: Enjoyed - strongly recommend (A-)

My head is still spinning after reading this 500 plus page story. I, like many, have been waiting for Paris's story for a very long time. We met his "HEA" back in the second Lords of the Underworld book, The Darkest Kiss. That was a long time ago and poor Paris has been to hell and back - searching for Sienna's spirit, giving into and battling his ambrosia addition, fighting and killing anyone (especially Hunters) that got in his way. We've had book after book of the degradation of Paris, and now it's finally his time.

The book picks up where The Darkest Surrender ends. Things have been building to this point, and I do not recommend newcomers to the series start here. There are a lot of plot points that come together. Paris is still hot on the trail of tracking down human spirit-turned keeper of the High Demon Lord, Wrath. She is a former Hunter and current prisoner of the Titan god king, Cronus. She is also the one woman that Paris's demon, Promiscuity, was able to "get it up for" more than once. He is obsessed and this has lead to his near destruction.

The first half or so of this book is dedicated to detail and background - fitting the pieces in place for the rest of the tale. Paris isn't quite the same ruined man he has been of late. He's kicked his ambrosia addiction, and although he is still killing and is violent, he's focused on finding Sienna. His friends still support him which indicates he hasn't gone too far into the deep end.

Sienna seems like a lost child. She still seems so innocent. But she'll put her own life on the line to protect those she cares about. She is trapped and nearly broken by Cronus, but when Paris arrives, her internal drive kicks into high gear. I really like Sienna.

The primary bad guys in this book are Cronus and Rhea, and they are ... interesting. Cronus is an a$$ of the nth degree. Rhea is equally evil. The scene in which Cronus kills someone Sienna loves is just wicked. They make for excellent villains, however Cronus begins to degrade over the course of the book, leaving him less sharp and witty. But in the end, long time readers are rewarded with a satisfactory conclusion to the current story-arc.

Did I mention that there is a lot going on in this book, other than Paris/Sienna and the battle with Cronus and Rhea? There are a few side stories, that in my opinion could have been cut to shorten the length of the book. This is my biggest issue with The Darkest Seduction -- there is just too much going on.

Some side stories were fun, like new Lord Keeper/goddess, Viola and her pink-haired fallen angel suitor. She had her place in the story, so I didn't mind the additional characters, although the battles between Paris and Pinky weren't all that necessary. But others, like the three mysterious Lord Keepers trapped with Sienna - really could have been cut and have them introduced in a later book.

We do get more about Kane, who was left in the Underworld in the last book. I'm not really sure what is up with Kane. He seems to be the only Lord who is actively tormented by his own demon. There is no self-preservation for Disaster (his Lord). It was hinted at in previous books that Kane may bring about the end of the world, but I'm not sure how I feel about mixing up his storyline into this book - it was too little and too vague - and in the end, unnecessary for this story to be told.

We also had more about Legion, the demon minion-turned-human. She has a connection to our other bad guy - Galen (Keeper of Hope and ??). Again, things were tossed about and hinted at, but it was too much for this story. It may have been better to pick only a couple of the side stories and bulked them up than trying to tell the reader a little about everyone.

Finally, the warrior angel Zacharel plays a bigger part in this story than he has in the past. He is yet another elusive character. We really don't know much about him, and it started to drive me a bit crazy. He and Paris would go head-to-head and I just didn't feel the reasons behind the conflict. It was only after I finished reading the book did I find out that Ms. Showalter has a spinoff series planned for the warrior angel. I'm not a fan of introducing a character just to spin him off to another series (JR Ward... grrrrr), but in this case, it didn't bother me quite as much.

The Darkest Seduction is a romance, and the love story at the heart of this book was perfect for me. Paris and Sienna are a quintessential match. Even the angels, who sought to keep them apart, agree that Paris and Sienna complement each other perfectly. I adore the time that they take to become friends and learn about each other. And the smex (per usual Showalter fashion) is smokin'!

Finally, Ms. Showalter adds everything into this story that makes the LotU series one of my favorites. The humor is fantastic - even when things are down, the band of brothers and their mates are cracking jokes. The less obvious wit and the blatant jokes are equally welcome. There is plenty of intense action, which is violent at times. The camaraderie of the Lords is deeper than ever. They are connected in ways that run deeper than blood, so even if one makes a mistake, they are right there to help each other out. And to top it off, there are deeply touching and emotional moments and events, reminiscent of the first few books in the series. The nuggets are there - you just have to wade through the excess to find them. And when you reach page 396, please enjoy Paris and Strider as much as I did (yes, it is what you think!)

In the end, yes, there were things that bugged me about this book. I have listed a few, and there were others. BUT the overall storyline and romance at the center of the book far outweigh my nit-picking criticisms. The current story arc ends, and we are left with a few surprising twists that change up the game and pave the way for more LotU books and the spinoff Angels of the Dark series. I enjoyed the ride with all the bumps and detours, and look forward to continuing the journey!

I will start my Review off as such,.......Ms. Gena Showalter, you have once again quenched my thirst with Paris's story.

SPOILER ALERT!! ~~~~~~~ SPOILER ALERT!! ~~~~~~ SPOILER ALERT!! ~~~~~~ SPOILER ALERT!! ~~~~~~~ SPOILER ALERT!!

This 500+ pages was strawberries & champagne in a nut shell!!...Paris's determination, to rescue Sienna ( carrys demon of wrath)his love interest , outweighed the darkness that he carried inside of him, which by the way formed in Sienna's absence.
Paris's Lord Brethren were very much present plus a few added additions,*yippie*..
I don't even know where to go next with my review, my thoughts are over the place thats how good the story was to me!!..
Okay, let's begin with my fav..WILLIAM...((sigh))..what a dream!....William and his "i don't give crap about anyone but myself" attitude and nothing seems to get a rise out of him unless you mention.. ahhh Gilly, but don't say that too loudly..lol..Willliam wore a few hats in the story and wore them well I must say!...Strider...all Im gonna say is I didn't see it comin..OMG!..
Galen (carries the demon of hope) the other gorgeous Lord who bats for Rhea's side which is Coronus's wife who he despises..is hell bent of getting Legion back in his possesion, because honestly she turned him on since their first encounter, but little does Galen know she isnt the same deomon-girl he met before.
Then we have Ms. Viola ( carries the demon of narcissism) she was a hoot!..and her pooch, name princess fluffikens...lol..which happen to be a male tazmanian devil!!
Coronus and his wife Rhea...well It couldn't have happened to a better pair of god & goddess....Zacharel angel who is Lysander's brethren...on a mission to prove his true loyalties,...*think he maybe my newest squeeze*...
Maddox and Ashlyn have 2 new additions to family and William..lets just call him Dr. Love...ha,ha,ha,
The Ending of the story wasn't expected, but so totally welcomed!..I was pleased with the outcome!!...So Gena I say to you Thank you, Thank you Thank you!!!!...Loyal Readers & Fans...you won't be disappointed!!..Paris's Story Rocks Hard Babe!!.... ~ Happy Reading ~

I have to say that honestly this was a great end to an extremely well-written serie. Thank You Gena! Paris got the story and woman he deserved and I was suprised to find how good the book was after reading some reviews. I wouldnt recommend this for a first book from this serie though. I have myself read all books in correct order + the books available of The Horsemen Of The Apocalypse. So...I was waiting for this and definitely got what I expected. I think it`s hard to write the last book of a serie and I wasnt so enthralled about how Lara Adrian ended her midnight breed serie so this was a wellcome change. I am so looking forward to reading about Zacharel & Galen. I recommend this serie wholeheartedly :) You won`t regret

I really liked to finally get to the HEA of Paris. It was easier for me since I read all the books but the last one straight through. I was getting a little tired of the fighting and am glad the series is over. Although I can see the spin-off with the Angels, for me its basically over. And I thought it was a fun ride. I only wish that I could have read more about Galen/Legion. I am hoping that is the next book and feel that that story is very much left unfinished. Overall I recommend the series and thought Paris & Sienna were a fitting ending to the story.

I enjoyed this Showalter book more than I've enjoyed a few of her last books. There was an impressive amount of storyline that she had to wrap up in this book, and I thought she did fairly well. She did a great job with Paris and Sienna; they were well-developed and their story was heart-breaking and a pleasure to read.

While I am an absolute fan of the Lords of the Underworld series and I can honestly say that I have liked just about every book in the series, this one seriously let me down. I was never much of a fan of the Sienna and Paris story. It just never seemed realistic. They hate each other but then have sex. Paris becomes obsessed with this chick and goes to such great lengths to bring her back because she is the one person he can have more than once. It just didn't ring true to me. I would think that you would at least have to like/know someone to choose helping them over your "brothers".

I just hope that this series will be redeemed with the next book. Cameo's story soon please? and William too while you are at it.

i've had a hard time getting into the last few of Showalters' books. They seem to be lacking something that was there before. Paris, i wasn't looking forward to his story to be honest, and i bought it because it was worth a try. However, I can't even finish it. It's so oring and Paris is nothing like the character he used to be. Very disappointing. I'll try to finish it at a later time, I guess.

I was one of the few who didn't eagerly anticipate Paris' book. I didn't care about him and felt the "connection" he had to Sienna was quick and forced. so much narrative goes on in the first part of the book that I just didn't care! Sooo didn't care and started to flip through the pages again and again to find some dialogue or good action or something. I feel bad. I love Showalters' previous books so much more but lately they are deflating fast. she needs to slow down and find her roll again.

LOVED Paris and Seinna's relationship. I enjoy how the all the characters have continued in each of the books. I also like how there are side stories running along with the main storyline. There are an awful lot of characters so you need to pay attention. This is a FUN series! Can't wait to start the next book!

Like so many others I have been waiting for Paris and Sienna's story and it really didn't disappoint me! The only negative thing I can say is that it took a little while to really get going. Of course, the beginning was mostly dealing with everything that happened to them in the past, her drugging him, him basically using her as a shield, her being a Hunter, blah blah blah. So needless to say if you can survive the beginning you'll enjoy this book.

The ending was quite a shocker too!

I think this may be one of my favorite GS books. Sienna was a great character. I was so happy Cronus was disposed of. My only problem was Paris' excessive use of the word "baby." Honestly, baby sounds a lot less intimate than honey or sweetheart.

Let me begin with by stating that Paris of all the lords was (for lack of a better term) a whore at the begining of the series and I only like rakes in my historicals. However, I was pleasantly surprised with his willingness to be faithful to Sienna. As for Sienna, I am like Strider I still don't quite trust her. It seems a little off for her to go from hunter/bait to "Go lords Go". None the less the chemistry was there and the relationship seems to have great opportunity. Still want Torin's book. *sighs*.

The Darkest Seduction
Reviewed by Suz & posted at Under The Covers Book Blog

'Paris's frantic search for Sienna is coming to it's conclusion, he's lied, cheated, murdered and screwed his way to find her so he can release her from Cronus's clutches. But their time together can only be limited as all sides of the war want Sienna, the new Keeper of Wrath, and she must make a choice stay with Paris, but damn all the Lords to death or betray Paris and save them.

At last! At last we have Paris and Sienna's book, after waiting through most the series it's here! I confess that after all the build up I was secretly feeling a little skeptical over how good this would be, I have found the previous few books a little disappointing and didn't want to raise my expectations too high. I worried in vain. I thought this book could possibly be the best in the series so far, it was packed with EVENTS, revelations and romance, with multiple threads playing out through the books and new characters being introduced there was never a dull moment.

Paris and Sienna, who knew they could work so well together? They had chemistry, friendship and love. Like all really good love stories the have conquered epic obstracles in their way, death, gods, demons and their own pasts. But Paris is Keeper of Promiscuity, so lets get to the hot and steamy. The sex scenes were smokin', managing to be a great mixture of panty wettingly hot but tender as well.

But as well as the romance, a few very unexpected events happened, this book kept me reading not just to see Paris and Sienna, but to also see what else Gena was going to throw at us. We need some new demon possessed immortals, my favourite being Viola, Keeper of Narcissicty, she reminded me a little of Anya. Then, there was Kane's stint in Hell and Galen and Legion, not to mention what the Cronus and Rhea were up to. All these things happening around the main couple made this book a one-sitting-read.

The Darkest Seduction also has Gena's humour and wit in it, I love how her characters interact, especially the Lords, it shows their friendship perfectly.

I loved this book, it had a great romance and has left me desparate to read more, not just of Lords of the Underworld but also her new series Angels of the Dark as we get a little hint of what it is all about in the epilogue. The best in the series so far!

I really love this series and this book is a good addition to it. The interaction between Paris and Sienna is so hot and Paris has got to be my favorite of the whole series. The was a bit on the long side. Showalter's writing is still great as always but the book could have been cut by 50-100 pages and still been as good or better.

Everything one could hope for after waiting for Paris's story for soooo long!! If you don't like a novel that has a lot of secondary characters then maybe this isn't for you after all. One could say that Showalter is purposely adding a lot of characters to introduce her new series and I agree, but don't miss out on this book if you like showalter's style of writing and if you want to read about what happens to Paris and Sienna!! All in all, i think that this novel still retained a lot of Showalter's humor and what one would expect from a good author! Happy Reading!!

Gena rightly filled in all the blanks without tons of useless backstory, which I hate to read in series books. I truely enjoyed Paris' journey and where/who he ended up with, the surprising twists have me dying for the next book. Oh and hmm about those Angels!!! Yay new series!!!

I'm not going to do a recap of the story. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents and say that I loved it and can't wait to read more by GS. Don't pass by this book if you've already been reading this series. If you haven't read the series, hurry up, get the first book and enjoy. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
