In Plain Sight (Sisterhood)

Fern Michaels has finally released another volume in her "Sisterhood" series. I have read every one of the twenty-something books in this series...some of them more than once. Michaels has done a marvelous job of creating a whole host of characters...male and female...that readers really care about. You can of course read the books as stand alone works, but reading them in order provides a treasure of back stories as well as the continued evolution of the characters. Some of the earlier stories carried more tension because of the secrecy surrounding the initial small group of avengers and the efforts of others to uncover their identities. Some of those very nemesis are now avengers themselves! The current book focuses on the man of power standing behind the President of the United States. When the secret "railroad" developed by Pearl, while she was still a Chief Justice of the United States, is threatened,everyone is called into action. This particular volume lacks the intensity of some of the previous books, but Michaels' well-written work and her great cast of characters still provides a great read. Anyone who enjoys thrillers, suspense, with a sprinkling of romance, will enjoy this volume. If it is your first dip into the "Sisterhood" series, get ready to do a lot of reading because you will want to go back and get in at the beginning!
