This book gives an interesting take on the use of essential oils. Randi Minetor connects the use of essential oils to their use in the Bible. Minetor includes a good explanation of the use of oils throughout the Bible, including verses and analysis. There is a great chapter on the essential oils listed in the Bible, with a photo of the plant, their uses, substitutes, and any precautions. I particularly liked the chapter on recipes and remedies, which includes a variety of uses for essential oils from common ailments to their use as cleaning products. I would recommend this book if you already use essential oils. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Many people think of essential oils and alternative healing as being Pagan in nature, and honestly it is, however different oils and herbs are mentioned in the bible. If you are Christian and struggle with using things like this because you associate them with witchcraft, then hopefully this book can ease your mind a bit and allow you to use the many healing herbs and oils found in nature. The book does a great job of pointing out all the plants that are mentioned in the bible and explaining their uses.

Aside from the biblical stuff, I found it to be very informative on the use of essential oils. There are recipes for everything from laundry detergent and air fresheners, to medical uses like menstrual cramps, acne, and heartburn! I found it to be very informative on the safety and science of using essential oils. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Essential Oil of the bible is similar to other books on essential oil I have read because it lays out usages of each of oil and, things it can be substituted with or blended with, and precautions to keep in mind. One things that makes this book different is the scripture throughout the book and it goes into detail how it was used in the bible. For example Anise, Mint, and cumin are three plants specifically mentioned by Jesus as he argues with the Pharisees. There is a section in the back that gives a detailed scripture reference for the oils.

There is a large section on remedies and recipes including a recipe for aging skin tightening rub, anger diffuser treatment, bloating relief rub, and fatigue. I found everything easy to read and the recipes make a good amount of each recipe. I really liked the quick reference guide in the back of the book as well. I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Over all I found the book well written and full of information. I like how it gave me a better understanding of the scriptures and how the oils can benefits me in today's times.

I found this book very interesting. I never even thought about essential oils being biblical so it was interesting reading about this. The information was very detailed and thorough and it was an enjoyable read. I am very new to essential oils but am interested in learning more about them. I learned a lot from this book and it is nice to have it to reference back to. I just got a little worried when I read a review from someone who apparently IS familiar with essential oils and claimed that many of what was said is safe to use, is not. I was hoping by researching with an actual book versus a website, I could get more accurate information but reading her review got me a little concerned about trusting everything. So I will definitely keep this book handy but will probably also do some more research about essential oils and try and educate myself more on this . I do love this book though and it was very well written. I received these complimentary or at a discount and am not required in any way to write a review on this product.

Essential Oils of the Bible: Connecting God's Word to Natural Healing is a complete guide to all the essential oils that were mentioned in the bible. This book does not cover every essential oil out there, though, only the ones that can be found in the scripture. The book starts off with an introduction to essential oils and their mention in the Bible, then onto their link to the sacred text, How essential oils heal, then the 30 essential oils of the Bible, and finally recipes and remedies of those 30 mentioned essential oils. It ends with a short glossary and reference of each mention of an essential oil in the Bible in Book, Chapter, Verse form.
I didn't realize how many essential oils were mentioned in the Bible, and I also didn't realize how many more are out there until when thumbing through the book I kept asking "what about lemon?" "orange?" "basil?" etc. Great little book, especially if you're 'religious' about essential oils.

This is a very useful book. The physical book itself is high quality, the paper and cover are robust. The book is laid out very well. It's part book, part reference, so the layout is important. Also, there is a helpful reference guide at the back of the book.

Chapter 1 makes the connection between essential oils and the Bible. Chapter 2 discusses exactly how the essential oils work, and the different ways essential oils can be used. Chapter 3 is alphabetical and details of 30 oils from the bible, including colored drawings of the plants. This is really the beginning of the "reference" portion of the book. Chapter 4 gives recipes for ailments using oils, alphabetically by issue.

What made me first realize the quality of this book is how it goes into detail about oils to avoid. This section validates the book for me. So many people who push essential oils ignore this portion, and without discussing the good and the bad, I feel like the author wouldn't be able to be trusted. I also like the fact that the 30 oils from the bible and the recipes for ailments are listed alphabetically. This makes everything easy to find.

This book is something you can sit down to read, at least for the first half. The second half is more reference, and not something you'd read like a novel. The only negative I can find is I need to buy a bunch of different oils now that I've found a bunch of recipes I want to try!

I have an eversion of this book and absolutely love it! I'm not to the essential oils (EO) world, so for me, I've found it really helpful. It is so full of information regarding essential oils plus it gives details as to how they were used during biblical times which is pretty neat. I also really enjoyed the section called The Science of Essential Oils which explains scientifically how they work and why there isn't much research about essential oils in the US today - simply there is no money in it.
I also appreciated the details on shopping for essential oils. There are so many different terms available relating to EOs, but this clarified what they meant so you can make educated purchases on quality oils. The first 2 chapters are really the A-Z info you need to know about EOs. The third chapter gets into detail about how the oils were use in the bible and how you can use them now. I like that it clearly states precautions as well. Chapter 4 has recipes for EVERYTHING! from cleaning, to anxiety, to sicknesses and soooo much more!
Now I just need to go buy some more EOs! :-)

Overall, really great guide to EOs!

The BEST and most complete essential book ever! I love that all of the essential oils are listed in alphabetical order, which most books, do not. This makes it so easy when looking for a specific oil and along with the alphabetical order, each page of the description, lists the medicinal properties, the medicinal uses, what it can be blended with or substituted with and the precautions!.I own a few other essential oil books, because I have been using oils for over 20 years, as I was a massage therapist and I used them with every client, but this book is the greatest! Essential Oils of the Bible also includes illnesses and conditions and their remedies and recipes. There is also a list of the 30 essential oils listed in the Bible and whether you are spiritual or not, this book is highly recommended and I will be using it regularly, for my own personal use. When I have a family member or friend, who is sick, this will be the first book I reach for, to help them..I am thrilled to have this copy and it will be also shared with my friends and family that are looking for information on the conditions they confront me with. I was offered this product at a discounted price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, which I am leaving here.

Having already read Essential Oils and Aromatherapy: An Introductory Guide and a few others, I was glad to expand my knowledge of oils with Essential Oils of the Bible. Although more spiritual than religious these days, I grew up in the church reading Scripture so I was very curious as to how I would like this book. Overall I really enjoyed delving further into the connection between oils in biblical times.
In the first chapter, the spiritual correlation between the bible and oils is discussed as well as modern practical uses. The second, which is probably my favorite, talks about how oils work to heal, what adaptogens are and which oils contain these properties as well as which to avoid. The scientific aspects really interrested me as I learned useful terms such as bulking in which the oil quailty is lessened by using the last years crop to reduced price. Chapters 4 and 5 go over the 30 oils from the bible and a list of aillments and remedies for them. The wonderful references in the back also insure you'll have all you need for your endeavors.
I received this in exchange for a fair and honest review.

If you have ever read or heard scripture you know that oils is a very common theme, especially when it comes to Jesus and his travels. Biblical people are always anointed his feet with oils and it's nice to have a broader reference to the oils that were used at the time.

Pros:
-Biblical background and history
-Oils used during the times
-Simple recipes for various ailments
-In depth look at Biblical essentials oils properties

Cons:
-Can be slightly difficult to follow

If you use essential oils and have ever read the bible this is a nice compilation to the oils hat are mentioned in numerous occasions across the bible. The book is full of interesting information but can be difficult to follow at times. The uses and recipes are easy to use and mix. A good reference to have around.

I recieved this book complimentary for my honest and unbiased review and opinion. Opinions expressed are mine and mine alone and may differ from yours.

I was happy to get the opportunity to review this book for free. I have always been curious about the oils mentioned in the Bible. Some of them I could not find and now ad I know why. This book gives you the names of the oils as they are from the Bible along with their current names. For each oil it also gives the biblical reference for it. I really like that the book does not advocate or promote the use of essential oils internally. I've seen some essential oils claim you can take them internally if diluted but I've always bee wary of that. The recipes are not complicated at all. For me I am more interested in the skin recipes because I am a beauty writer/blogger. There is one thing I felt was missing. It could be that this got lost because the book does contain a wealth of information, but I did not see a shelf life concordance or reference for the recipes, not even in the index. That I feel is something that should be mentioned. This is knocked my review of this down a star.

This is a great guide to essential oils. The illustrations are beautiful, and there is an image for each herb in the guide. After the history and introduction there are two main parts to the book. The first is the description of each of the herbs in which each has a bible verse and the history of the herb. They also include the Latin name, medicinal properties and uses, a list of herbs it blends with, herbs that can substitute for it, and precautions. The information provided for the herbs is interesting and fun to read. The second section is a catalog of medical conditions and remedies using essential oils from the book that can help. Each condition comes with a description and the remedies include the recipe and directions for preparation and use. The directions are easy to follow for a beginner.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review or influenced in terms of my review.

fter reading/hearing about “anointing with oils” in Bible studies and sermons over the years, it was interesting to really understand what they were using and to know that many of them are still in use today.
There is detailed information on each of the 30 referenced oils including how they are extracted, how they were and can be used, which ones to not use, and where they are mentioned in scripture. There is a good sized section of recipes for blending, listed by their uses.
While it’s not a complete reference for ALL oils – there are other books out there for that – it’s an interesting and thought provoking start regarding sacred and practical uses.
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review – which this is.

Love how this book connects the Bible with the essential oils that are starting to become very popular. In the book it gives several different combinations to use different kinds of oils. It also helps you identity which oil to use if you are experiencing pain in a particular area which several different problem in the back of the book. This books has a scripture on one page with where it is found and then on the next page gives more information on the oil associated with that verse and some facts about it. I found it very interesting, and a great resource to anyone starting to use oils on a regular basis. Greatly recommend!

I recently became an essential oil user and I love it! This book was right on time because I'm beginning to use essential oils for a lot of things in my life and it's a great guide. The sicknesses, discomforts and ailments I experience can easily be remedied by oils...you just have to take the time to research it. You will, however, have to invest in quality oils but once you buy a few common ones, you can mix and match to get the desired results. The author presented the very basics on how to use essential oils and it guides you step-by-step in mixing and applying the oils. If you haven't, give essentials oils a try and you'll be able to stay out of your medicine cabinet and instead apply natural remedies to your ailments.
This book was given to me free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review of the book.

I am very pleased with my purchase. My husband and I have been using essential oils for s few years now, but we never knew the history behind them all. This book lays out how they were used throughout the Bible. It's also lets you know what essential oils that you should completely avoid. It has beautiful illustrations with a Bible verse underneath it. My favorite part of the book is the the 150 different remedies and recipes. I love that there are different ways to use essential oils for more than just a nice smell in the house. I can see my family using this book for years to come. This is a must buy, you won't regret it

Interesting and informative, adds another dimension to studying the bible especially if you're interested in essential oils. Ms Menetor is very knowledgeable about essential oils, their uses, history and recipes. I need to stock up on a better variety of oils, but this book will make it to my bookshelf. It is filled with so much information. I love how it explains how essential oils were used in biblical times and still are in use today. The book is broken down into chapters and has a glossary and reference in the back.

The book just draws you in. The cover is beautiful. There is a nice soft silky feel to the cover. With essential oils starting to become more and more popular this book could not have been offered to me at a better time. Yes I did get this book for free but that in no way changes my opinion on this book. I enjoyed reading about all the different oils. I have read a few books about oils and none of them have included an "oils to avoid" section like this one does. I actually liked seeing that. This book is laid out nicely and is very easy to navigate. You cannot go wrong with this book.

A very good reference book. Talks about the history of essential oils and tells you in the Bible where the various oils are mentioned and how they were used. There is no doubt that essential oils were sent by God to help us stay healthy. If you are an essential oil user, you need this book to give you more depth in understanding the power of the oils.

I was excited to receive this book. Reading through scriptures and seeing the various oils mentioned, I've always been interested in learning more about them and how I could use them for myself. I especially appreciated the use of illustrations and definitions and corroborating scripture alongside the oils, as well as the use and storage of each item. This was well researched, thoughtfully incorporated, and beautifully executed.

I usually don’t read books like this from cover to cover. I just use them as a reference when buying and using oils. But, since I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, I decided to read the entire thing. I was afraid this book would be too “preachy” but it is well balanced. The introduction goes through various examples of oils used it the Bible and it left me with an understanding of why knowing the spiritual significance of oils could be important. The knowledge provides perspective and connection to Biblical times. The shopping tips section in chapter 2 was very informative. I liked that they emphasized that all the tools and gadgets pushed today are not necessary. I also love that chapter included a section on science but I wish this section was larger. I thought overall this book gave great emphasis on using oils safely (ie don’t ingest, dilute…). Many companies have people believing that ingesting oils is okay but presenting the alternative may encourage people not to do this. I like the explanations of the 30 oils and I will use this section as reference. The recipes were simple, sounded useful and were different from others I have seen. I appreciated that there was no company promotion at all. Overall, I enjoyed this book and it inspired me to add some new oils to my wish list.

It is clear the author conducted significant research while preparing this book, and I am really impressed with the amount of information it contains. Admittedly, essential oil is not a topic I knew much, but the author explains the benefits of each oil very clearly. I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about essential oils, the remedies each can offer, and more specifically how each relates to the Bible. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

To START with... the aromatics mentioned in the Bible were NOT "Essential oils" but infused aromatics. The art of steam distillation was invented around the year 1100. When the author starts with an obviously mistaken premise, how much validity can one grant the rest of her work. YES, safely and appropriately used aromatics, including essential oils, can enhance ones spiritual journey, but publishing a book so filled with misstatements appears to be a way to monetize your spiritual path. I am reminded of Christ and the money changers in the Temple. Please, before thinking you can write a book, first educate yourself.

The fact that this book, is, titled, Essential Oils of the Bible, gives me great peace. These oils, have been around, forever. I like the idea of using ingredients, that are natural, from the earth. Not man made, that usually have many chemicals. I tried the Laundry Care, on page 118/119. I used lavender. My clothes smell devine.

Not accurate. Does not make difference between therapeutic grade essential oil and just oils. She does not list any reputable oil sellers. Her information is outdated in many cases. It is not a good oil book. Healing Oils of the Bible by D Stewart is much better and explains the oils, use, where to find the oils and how to use them. She does mention praying over oils which is good. Also should pray while putting oils on. I would suggest you read other books for better information.
