Fascinating and eclectic collection of letters through the ages. Not all are from "famous" people, some of the most interesting and poignant being from "regular" folks. A great choice as a gift because it has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

This is an incredibly fascinating collection of letters from all time periods and all over the world. At times it made me laugh out loud, at others I was moved to tears. Read it - you will not be disappointed!

Perhaps I should have "looked inside" - I was surprised to find actual photographs of the letters themselves. Lots of material here if one wants to make a study of handwriting styles, but luckily, the reader needn't spend time deciphering, as that has been done, and is included in type form. Interesting reading, though I would have liked to see more correspondence by ordinary people in all walks of life, rather than by high-profile people.
