I just finished GONE - the sixth book of the Bennett series. Would have given them 3-1/2 stars if I could, as I did enjoy the short chapters, the suspense, the involvement of Bennett's 10 children, grandfather and nanny, and they were good--not great! I seem to enjoy Patterson's books when he doesn't have a co-author! It's not necessary to read all six books, though each continues from the previous book, but I MICHAEL BENNETT leaves an unfinished ending that continues into the book GONE.
Here's the order of the Bennett 6 books:
1) Step on a Crack
2) Run for Your Life
3) Worst Case
4) Tick Tock
5) I, Michael Bennett (ending unfinished and leaves you having to read book 6)
6) Gone

Step on a Crack ( Michael Bennett ) by James Patterson's

This is the first Michael Bennett book I have read. And I am happy to say that I have enjoyed it as much as the Alex Cross series. It was moving and I became teary eyed at the end.

This book was written "with" Michael Ledgwidge, which, has always implied that he was the "real" author who did most (if not all) of the writing. That said, the book is fairly well written. Unfortunately, the story line is so improbable that I had trouble finishing the book -- it almost made me laugh out loud. Would I recommend it? For the beach or if you don't mind over-the-top plots.

I love James Patterson's work. The Michael Bennett series is a bit softer than the Alex Cross series. Michael Bennett is a widower with 10 children, so you get to see his soft side with his children and family.

Was this book by Patterson or the other guy? Worst book by paterson I have read, including the premise that the Secret Service wouldn't search a church and find what amounts to a dozen heavily armed commando's. The style wasn't even familiars. Pick another Patterson.

A very unique murder, kidnap plan. Very frightening to think that the criminals portrayed here would not stop killing due to their greed and that the mastermind was FBI agent who achieved a degree of mastery in his field -very sick. Too many sad events in this book that make it a Hollywood movie.

I bought this book because I know that James Patterson is a great author. But I have to confess I haven't read it yet; it's in my reading library. I'm sure once I do, my rating will be up to five starts. Thanks, the store for making this purchase available. (Oh, and, Merry Christmas!!)

I have read all three of the Michael Bennet books and can't wait for the next one. I suspect that it is mostly or all, the writing of Michael Ledwidge. All three were well written and quite engrossing.

I loved this book. I did find myself crying during part of it but just goes to show that it makes you feel the characters. Loved the twists and turns and little side stories. They added demention to the characters. Great start to this series. Love Run for Your Life too. Must read this book, it is very good.
