The book is a wonderful romance. There is a tremendous amount of humor. The humor is at times slapstick, ironic and subtle. An example of the subtle humor is when she becomes known as a (serial) killer. But then I don't want to give too much away.

Susan Elizabeth Phillips has a unique writing style which captivates. But the story of this book is a bit too far-fetched. If only she had made the heroine more attractive , beautiful , better-endowed and less dowdy, there would have been stronger chemistry and sexual tension between the couple to make the story more credible. It is a Cinderella type of story except that Dr. Darlington was not portrayed a beauty but a drab middle-aged plain Jane.

I like this author (other authors I like for reference: Jennifer Crusie, Kresley Cole, Melanie Harlow). The first book I read of Susan's was "It had to be you" which I've found hard to beat so far compared to her others. I like the theme of the footballers as heros (even though I can't stand sport) and they each have their differences, as do the heroines have their quirks that makes you route for them. They can be enjoyable reads, and she has a really good way of combining present day with the characters backstories to understand their motivations. Also the supporting characters (that makes you want to read her other books). The only downside I found with "Nobody's baby but mine" is that it draws out the tension/fights/hostility a little too much sometimes (for my liking). You know it resolves, so it's subjective, and you get to see the character development along the way. Enjoy!

I picked up this book because I was going through a stressful time at work and wanted something light to read that I wouldn't have to think too hard about. This book very well filled the bill. It was just entertaining enough to keep me interested, but didn't require any heavy thinking or figuring out symbolism or cryptic themes. It's sort of the literary version of a Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy.

One of my favorite authors. Enjoyed this book thoroughly, especially the hero's grandmother and parents. I like the humor. Phillips has a way of depicting characters who aren't perfect, but are real. Sure this plot may be considered far fetched, but isn't that what reading fiction is all about?! I read this book several years ago, but enjoyed it again.

I will preface this review by mentioning that I loved the first two books in this series. Unfortunately, the plot of this book made little to no sense. The truth of the matter is that if someone tricks or manipulates you so that they can get pregnant there is no way that you would ever forgive them let alone marry the person. These two had nothing on common and would not ordinarily be together. Its also not that simple tobe put in contact with professional athletes. The ridiculous plot doesn't end there: SEP never even addresses the fact that a woman with an IQ of 180 would a) seduce a man in that manner Oe b) think that her child would be of average intelligence because one parent is dumb. The book doesn't ever address the obvious self esteem/delusions of the heroine.

I loved the first two books in this series so I will be reading the next one.

I found this book slow, repetitive, boring and way, way, too long. With totally unbelievable characters. Had it been a short story, it would have been more enjoyable. A good beach read - will lull you into a deep sleep!

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a excellent author whose wit and wisdom makes me laugh, sigh, and cry. Who would have thought football players would be interestingly portrayed as themselves in true life.

This book was recommended to me by a relative. I ordered it and another that was also her recommendation.
i could not get interested in this book at all, and it was nothing that I would even have considered. I read it - it was disgusting and I threw it away!! The title was "Nobody's Baby But Mine" by Elizabeth Phillips, and it was sexually explicit.
