Was debating on getting this book because I know nothing about gymnastics ..my kids are all soccer kids .. And I was worried if he lost in the gym lingo. No way ! This was such an awesome read ..twist and turns and then some more twists and not in the gymnastics terms !!

This book resonates for any mom who is watching their teenager separate themselves from childhood. When they are little we know absolutely everything about them and it's frightening when we realize that's changed.
The story pings back and forth between present time and past memories in a very effective style.
If you enjoy Olympic gymnastics, you'll love this read!

Slow, repetitive beginning, laying the plot out like the start of a boring gymnastics meet! Propelled into a whirlwind of emotion...the entire family supporting the one person that holds the family portrait together. Extraordinary insight !

Fascinating look into the world of gymnastics, but keeps you guessing all the way through. This is a suspenseful page turner and also at the heart the story of a family and the burdens they hold for each other.

The author was brilliant writing this story about Devon, a 16 year old prodigy gymnast who is the ruler and queen of the Household. Little brother (who is the only normal one in the household) is always being ignored. The writer does a great job slowly taking you from airy and light (the parents just support their daughter) to deep down under...and before you know it, darkness! With a murder thrown in, you will see dysfunction at it's finest. What was really eery too were the mentions of halting puberty so Devon could compete as a gymnast longer. If that isn't the most screwed up way to give your daughter an eating disorder then I don't know what is. The foot in the story takes on an eery persona of it's own.
Read it if you like it when the writer transforms you. This book will definitely give you weird dreams! FRANKENFOOT!!

After a mistake at a very important competition and with limited time left before she loses her gymnastics body to puberty, Devon doubles down on her training adding more stress to a household which is already stretched thin.
With 6 weeks until the biggest competition of Devon's life and her time as a competitive gymnasts running out, a death within the gym family rocks their world and threatens to ruin their family.
Well written, suspenseful and creepy. I liked it but it made me feel really uncomfortable in places, which I think was the authors intent. Worth reading.
