I'm Watching You by Mary Burton (6-Dec-2012) Paperback

This book was more suspenseful then romantic.My confusion isn't caused by the action in the book but the fact that after sleeping together once. Avoiding the topic of their marriage and Zack's cheating.Yet after a tense moment they proclaim their love for each other,move in together and are ready to renew their vows. The ending just feels rushed and the fast track to getting back together is explained away by marriage counseling.My other issue was that Kendall came off as a horrible character that shouldn't receive a happily ever after. Ms. Burton first presented her as a good person but then drastically turned her to an awful person yet expects us to read a book about Kendell and Warwick. I'm assuming this based on the fantasy Warwick had of Kendell and the fact she lived.

Overall I'd only recommend this book to suspense readers.

I like the story. The Guardian's character is interesting. I really don't mind him killing off the bad guys if he didn't cut off their hands and start killing off innocent people. I would also prefer to see Zack grovel more before Lindsay gives him a second chance. After all, he was a drunk and slept with another women when Lindsay kicked him out. But, nobody's perfect and no relationship is perfect and all that.

This is an interesting stalker/mystery book. Someone is killing men who abuse women
and says that they are The Guardian and that they are helping the cause of one
Lindsay O'Neil whose own mother died at the hands of her father. Soon another
threat looms as Lindsay seeks help from her estranged husband Detective Zach Kier and
his partner, James Warwick. Can they stop the Guardian?

Nothing too exciting and it was pretty predictible. I figured out the mystery pretty early on. I will say the characters were definitely interesting and I will read her next book in this series just for that alone. I just hope the next one relays more chemistry between the two lead characters. I didn't feel there was any chemistry between Zach and Lindsey. If you like a good suspense novel, this will be good, but do not buy it if you want a good romance story as well - there really isn't one.

I started reading my first Marty Burton book and I couldn't put it down. Keeped me on the edge of my seat to read what happens next. I figured out that this is a series when I started reading my second Mary Burton book, Dead Ringer. Just ordered another book I hope it has the same main charaters in it....

First time Mary Burton reader. She is a good writer. Keeps you interested in where the next turn of the page will take you. Who dunnit!! You think you know who it is, then another turn and you are saying 'hummmmm, maybe it is ????'. Another detective with a past. I will follow him to see where he goes next. And that nasty little TV reporter, will she change her tactics?? I'm Watching You Involving characters. Looking forward to reading another of her writings.

This was a great romantic suspense novel. It will keep you guessing until the end. I couldn't put it down until I finished. I loved the romance between Zack and Lindsay. I hope we read more about them in Mary Burton's new novel, which according to her website will be about two other characters in this book. Great read-looking forward to more from her in the romantic suspence novels.

Read "Dead Ringer" first and liked it very much. This book is the first in the series but I did not feel I missed much reading them out of order. I enjoyed the characters and the story line is good. Kept me guessing until the end. Set in Richmond, VA which was fun as we used to live there. An entertaining book.
