My Voice: A Memoir embodies the fundamentals of Hip Hop - HONESTY, INSPIRATION, & CONSCIOUSNESS. Angie's testimony of her life story, thus far, is a gift for the culture!!! A MUST READ ESPECIALLY FOR HIP HOP JUNKIES!!!!

Angie has done a wonderful job providing us with a behind-the-scenes look at her life - to include personal struggles, career choices, the importance of having a strong support circle; and, most importantly: faith and confidence big enough to overcome adversity. This book is a must-read for anyone who loves hip-hop, urban radio, and everything in between.

While reading I loved hearing the truth in Angie's book. She gave a good mixture of personal and business to make me feel like I was talking to her over dinner! It was so raw & real....my attention was truly captured by this book. I laughed a little when she shared some personal things & learned a couple lessons myself through her trials/tribulations. I simply loved it from beginning to end!

I loved reading about the story of Angie Martinez's ascent into the "Voice of New York" label as well as her telling of various pivotal movements of 1990s and 2000s Hip hop and other cultural events. I recommend it to anyone who's making moves in the entertainment industry and/or anyone interested in this era of hop hop and popular music. It's a gem.

I absolutely enjoyed reading Angie's memoir. I got to know a side of her I didn't know existed. I misjudged who she was as a person. Being of that era, some of the readings felt like a blast from the past. I definitely recommend reading this reading.

Great and inspiring read! It took me down memory lane with all of the highlights of hip hop in the 90s, and being anxious to catch the "Voice of NY" on the air! I have a new found respect for Angie Martinez. I still consider her one of the best radio personalities.
