I have read so many of her books & she never disappoints!
Such great story lines that really keep you wanting more.
You fall in love with every hero she writes about
& we all know that the Navy Seals are all heroes
I just love her books can't say it enough
They have it all, romance,suspense,passion,excitement!

I've been waiting for years for another Trouble Shooters story. There are vague references to a security company but none of excitement of the Trouble Shooters stories. I will not buy another Suzanne Brockmann book.

I love Suzanne's writing style in general, great story lines, witty dialogue, and interesting characters that get under your skin and make you root for them. I didn't have any issue with the length or the number of characters, as some of the other reviewers, especially since this is the kickoff of a new series. However I do have an issue with a book that is marketed as Phoebe and Ian's story only to find it is more about Sheldon and Aaron. Nowhere in any of the marketing descriptions are they even mentioned! I feel like I was duped into buying a gay romance novel.

Suzanne always has had a soft spot for the misunderstood and stigmatized, however I am tired of being beaten over the head with her gay agenda. "seeing them together was like looking at God", give me break.

Suzanne used to be an auto buy. Not anymore.

For those who love Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series, you will not be disappointed in this new novel! As always, she delivers the plot, several subplots, action, humor, and, of course, sex, in a fast-paced page turner that simply cannot be put down. I read this book in one evening, cursing my ability to read so fast! It was great to see Martell get a subplot of his own, and even more intriguing to see the dynamics between him and Deb, a well-remembered FBI agent often found in the company of Jules Cassidy. Yashi also lends his low key "Zen-like" demeanor to the mix of old friends and new acquaintances, all of them passionate believers in the their cause, but none more so than Ian Dunn and Phoebe Kruger. Ian, a former Navy Seal, has been released from prison halfway through his sentence, and he is not pleased about it at all. Phoebe, his newly appointed lawyer, believes there is more to Ian's story than meets the eye, and finds this to be true almost immediately when he kidnaps her in her brand new car. There are more layers to Ian than an onion, and each uncovered layer introduces us to Ian's "family" and the dynamics they all share as they run from dangers of the past while setting Ian up for the job from which he's been released from prison to do, the job that will bring peace and stability at long last to the family he loves. Ian is truly a reluctant hero, and the attraction between him and Phoebe is realistic and tangible as they are pursued by a mob-style family with complicated familial ties while attempting to rescue two children held hostage in the K'stani consulate in Florida. I enjoyed every minute of this book. There were no lags in the action, the new characters intriguing and believable, and the old crackers welcoming like unexpected friends can be. There are opportunities for more books to spin off this cast of characters, and hopefully, we can see a relationship for Martell! Get this book, you will not be disappointed!

Action, action and more action. This is a great start to a new series. I love Ian and Phoebe and the whole gang. I can't help but hope Francine starts to heal and Barto comes out better in the end and the whole gang sees better days.

This book is realty great book. I enjoyed it though it lagged a little in the middle. Not enough to turn you off though...Suzanne always makes a book and its characters come to life. Will always be a great fan of Suzanne Brockmann.

I am a huge Suzanne Brockmann fan....this just made me an ever bigger one! Fast moving story, lots of action, spectacular, witty dialogue, and characters that you just can't help but root for. This is Brockmann at her absolute best. I loved the Troubleshooters Series, but I'm guessing the Reluctant Heroes are going to be even better (and I didn't know if that was even possible). I want to pick the book up and start re-reading it all over again because I didn't want it to end.

If Sam Starrett is one of your favorite characters, then you are going to love Ian Dunn! Brockmann adds fresh new characters and mixes some favorites from the past to create a fabulous new story. I absolutely can't wait for the next book. Writing at its best!

Clunk! We meet a character. Clunk! The character kidnaps another character. Clunk! Oh look people are shooting at them.

I finished this book a couple of days ago. I am a long term Suzanne Brockmann reader, and I have been hanging out for this book to be released.

The book was disappointing. I found the main characters unengaging and unattractive. The romance was unconvincing and irritating. The plot clunked along, lurching here and there...oh here we go, another car chase. Yawn. Oh look, he got shot...again. Oh well. And here - another wad of new characters that we are meant to care about, and what about the poor children trapped? clunk.

As you can tell, I was not sucked into this book at all, and felt like the text was trying to manipulate me and push me around and get me to care about everything, and I just did not feel up to going along with it. The book was not good enough. I've never thought of a book clunking along before, but reflecting on my reading experience, that is what I am left with.

So I would recommend this book for serious die-hard Brockmann fans only. Or maybe to people who are sucked into suspense plots really easily.

I loved the troubleshooters series so much that I suspected I was not going to like this book on the same level. But I was so wrong. I loved the book!! All the characters were developed so well I could feel their feelings. I hope this becomes a series a well. I look forward to the next book.

As always, another great read by one of my favorite authors. One of those that you can't put down until the end and then you can't wait for her next one. Keeps you totally into the story from the first page to the last. Great characters.

My Review:
Suzanne Brockmann is back with an INCREDIBLE new series. Yes, I received this book for review and was at the 20% point in the book when I set my Kindle down to get online and order the hardback edition of this book for my keeper shelf. It was that good and throughout reading it, it just kept getting better and better.

In true Suzanne Brockmann fashion there is a whole cast of characters in this book and I fell in love with every one of them. It's gonna be such a good series. At the heart of them though is Ian. He sacrificed everything and went to prison to save his brother Aaron and his gay partner Shel and their son Rory from Shel's crazy mob-boss father who is willing to kill his gay son and anyone involved with him. Everyone in the group (or Ian's team) knew about Ian's sacrifice except his brother.

Ian is a former SEAL and has this team of people that he's always worked with on security matters. His brother, Aaron, was a Marine. Aaron's partner, Shel, was also a Marine and is the team's computer guru. Shel's sister, Francine, is just an all-around, no-fear, badass. Added to this group are attorney's, Phoebe and Marstell, who come and free Ian from prison...which totally screws up the deal he had with the crazy mob-boss. They free him because the government needs his help without any acknowledgement that he's actually helping in a diplomatic/security issue. Rounding out the team are FBI agents, Deb and Yashi. And for Troubleshooters fans out there, the FBI agents report to Jules although he's never actually in the book.

Confused yet? Yeah, there's a lot going on, but it's all so good. From the moment the book begins, the action and drama is pretty much non-stop.

I loved Phoebe and Ian together. Ian is one of those guys...always relaxed and cool-headed, regardless of any situation he's in. That's what makes him so good at his job. Phoebe messes him up though and he can't keep his crap together around her. I loved that and how she always kept him on his toes. He never knows what she's going to do.

There are a ton of little side-stories. In fact, there was a slew of flashbacks in the story...none that had to do with Ian and Phoebe. Normally, I hate that type of thing because I want to concentrate on the main couple. In this book, it didn't bother me one little bit just because I was caught up in everyone's story equally. It makes me so curious is going though. Honestly, I can't even guess who will be featured in the next book. There are several possibilities, but I liked all the characters so much, I couldn't even tell you who I want the next book to be about. I'm just thrilled that we'll get more books featuring this team. I loved this one! Definitely a great start from Suzanne Brockmann.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
