My main feeling when I read this book was sadness at seeing such a formerly fine author turn out such a lackluster book. It really deserves only one star, but I gave it two because I know Ms. Wells was battling Lyme Disease while writing The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder.

I loved her first two books, Little Alters Everywhere and The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Her third book, Ya-Yas in Bloom was just passable.

The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder does have one or two good moments, but overall I found it to be boring and poorly written. The only character I really cared about was Calla Lily; the others were simply too one dimensional and even Calla had huge gaps in character development.

If you are a fan of Ms. Wells and you simply have to read this book, save your money until it is published in paperback, or check it out from the library. It's simply not worth the price of a hardcover.

I loved this book! It was cathartic, spiritual, healing and a beautifully written book! I laughed and I cried. I was recommended this both to help me grieve the loss of my father. I was such a loving tool to get me to cry! I was very surprised by the low reviews. Thank you for my gift of healing tears...

This was a nice story, from beginning to end. Sure, there were troubled times and heartbreaks among the joys of love and lives being lived but under it all was a current of love and forgiveness, of family and friends. It was nice, and funny at times and came around full circle. One can only hope their own life was just as sweet. That being said, it was tame and somewhat predictable. I can imagine being happy caught up in this life, with these people in their own environments, sharing their traditions. But they didn't jump off the page for me or pull me in to where I just needed to know more. Romantic, but not quite intense.

I loved the Yaya books and Little Alters Everywhere and I really loved this one as well. This is so beautifully written and the people and places came to life in my imagination. I highly recommend it. And great summer reading.

This has become my new favorite book of all time! It is beautifully written, I could not put it down! I laughed, got mad, cried and rejoiced. I highly recommend this book to all women and some men will enjoy it as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Rebecca Welles was very thorough when she wrote this book. I liked it when she talked about Louisiana and New Orleans. I loved the part where she and Tuck got back together again toward the end of the story. However, I felt that the author wasn't clear whether Calla and Tuck got married toward the end. I assumed that they did.

I loved The Devine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood as did many others. I was so in hopes this would be as good. It isn't. It is entertaining but the story lacks any surprises or depth. It is more of a "girl book" for the summer.
