You'll enjoy this and its sequels. Funny and fast-paced. But for me it's about the well-developed characters. The good guys are flawed enough for anyone to feel like you could easily be one of them, but gifted enough in their ways that they're the kind of person you'd strive to be.

LOVE this series - now into third book. This would be an excellent TV series (much thuggery and absolutely hilarious scripting), though cannot think of an actor - US, British or Irish - who could play Bunny McGarry.

Really surprised by how much I loved this book. The author has a great voice, one that can describe events in horrific detail, but somehow else make you laugh while doing it.

Fun read with a great mystery attached!

There are sooo very many mystery books out there. But few that combine laughter, tears and a proper story line. I have read all of this trilogy of four books (that fact alone should scream humor). I'm surprised there has not been a film, so many great actors come to mind for Bunny.

Good characters, well-phrased writing, a plot that had me guessing through to the end. And funny. Bonus: the female characters are tough as nails. Looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy.

Caimh McDonnell writes a delightful and witty crime thriller. This book sucks you into the action and you'll become attached to the crazy combo of characters. I myself am kind of in love with Bunny. You won't be able to stop reading or laughing. McDonnell writes with a very specific voice - reminds me of my dad. Thanks Caimh!

Lighthearted attitude with a great mystery/detective story. I loved the characters, the pure Irish-ness that came through, and the steady pacing. Clever! A wonderful collection of words perfectly ordered.

Loved the dialogue and fast pace. I've read "laugh out loud" in book reviews but never experienced it until reading this beauty. I've shared snippets with family and friends, some of whom have read the book just to shut me up and then laughed out loud themselves.

Quirky characters and sharp humour make this detective story stand out head and shoulders above its peers. The plot is tense and everything else you want in a detective thriller is there, but it is definitely NOT just "one of those books".

Main Characters:
Paul Mulchrone – slacker, good person
Brigit Conroy- nurse, feels responsible for Paul's predicament.
Det. Insp. Jimmy Stewart – honest cop, tries to help Paul and Brigit.
Bunny McGarry – Police Sergeant, good person, shadowy character, tough.

My impressions: humorous, great characters easy to like, lots of action, great mystery.

The story is set in Dublin, Ireland. Some of the native slang used isn't covered by kindle's dictionary function.

The characters in A Man With One of Those Faces are distinctly different and memorable. Watch for Dorothy, she's a blast.
Paul Mulchrone goes out of his way to comfort a nursing home patient about to die. He has a knack for letting failing patients assume he is a relative. But this one tries to kill him, and he has no idea why. Before the patient can be questioned he dies.
From there Paul and Brigit have to run from an unknown mobster who fears the dying patient had divulged a guarded secret about a famous crime committed thirty years ago. The action is intense as they run from the antagonist trying to kill them and a spy in the police department who is working with the bad guys.

The bantering between Paul and Brigit is clever and humorous, not silly or slapstick. Toss Bunny McGarry's character into the mix and the laughs are contagious. Bunny adds a loose canon good guy to the quirky cast.

The editing and sentence structure are good and the plot is excellent.
The worst thing about the story is the title.

The story was enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

Wonderful characters, fast paced intriguing story, delightful humor. Half way through this book, I bought the rest of the trilogy to have ready to go. They were all entertaining, leaving me hoping for sequels.
