Sticks to the Burning Legion timeline. Adds the Deming Hunter twist and the plot ability to turn Illidan into a future ultra good guy.

Overall a good read. I take a star away because I felt it focused to much on Maiev and her vengeance. Which again... we all know from Burning Legion and a previous book.

I've never read any of the Warcraft books before, but since the Legion expansion's release date was announced I have re-subscribed and I am catching up on all my WoW lore. After reading Illidan I immediately decided that I need to read all of the other WoW books. The quality of the writing was all I had hoped for and more. I highly recommend this book to the casual and hardcore Warcraft fans alike.

Very important read, especially for gamers enjoying the Legion expansion. This book really does lay out the flawed by best interests mindset of Illidan and just how wrong we were when we killed him before he could fullfill his destiny...

The Illidan book was all that I expected and more! Without any spoilers, it describes the heart of what it means to become a Demon Hunter, which premiers as a player class in World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion, Legion. The book covers much of the back story surrounding the Black Temple and gives insight into many of the Burning Crusade's lore.

This book was well written and quite honestly as both a fan and gamer of world of Warcraft made me fall in love again with the lore and character of Illidan. This is must read for anyone who enjoys the lore of Warcraft. You see the hardship and sacrifice it takes to learn about an enemy so deadly and can't help but feel sympathy for the person, in this case Illidan.

Not much to say, really. If you like Warcraft lore, Illidan, or just want some Burning Crusade nostalgia, this is the book for you. (Especially if you've ever raided Black Temple. You heartless murderers.)

This book was carefully crafted to give us a glimpse of the mindset of Illidan as well as his warden. Having a more in depth telling of his fall and building up to the events of the up coming expansion. Worth reading!

Fantastic book, I would recommend it to any Warcraft player. You learn a lot more about demon hunters and how they are created, along with how we came to invade the temple with maive and why Illidan was just hanging out at the top, before we killed him.(For the Glaives)

The book is based upon actual World of Warcraft lore, of which could easily be regurgitated or left lifeless by a less skillful author, King's masterful portrayal of the inside life of Maiev, Akama, Illidan, his commanders, and the Demon Slayers he created enabled us to experience more than just a simple telling of lore.

The story progressed nicely. I'll try to not spoil anything!
The book revealed nice lore on demon hunters and their transformation. It was cool to see some behind-the-scenes of TBC, seeing Illidan as the good guy and us as players as the bad guys. I hope more like this comes in the future - as in, I want the PC to be the less 'heroic'.

I really appreciated this book. I enjoyed how it gave an idea of what really went on during our time in the Burning Crusade expansion. There were moments where I felt time was somewhat out of place; however, it's easy to ignore. The story is enjoyable.

Arrived today, already halfway done. It's about the events happening during The Burning Crusade in Illidan's point of view. Illidan has always been my favorite character in the warcraft lore, so I was really excited to know he was getting his own book.

Well written, all around great book that fills in alot of the plot holes that The Burning Crusade expansion in WoW left. The book shows that Illidan really was doing something other than talking to a skull up on the top of a temple.

Great book, definitely better than some of the last novels of the franchise. Great intro to Legion, would certainly recommend if you're a WoW fan.A must have for those looking to fill the gaps between now and Legion's release.

It had expected lore story elements, but definitely explains what basic lore can't tell you. And elaborates on why Illidan is back in Legion. I recommend reading Chronicles before this, so you'll understand certain forces better.
