Trust No Man by Cash explores the world of snitches, whores, and gang-bangers. Close your eyes and you will see these images in many of our backyards, or places we have visited or where we grew up. Terrance aka Youngblood is the main character in this urban fiction story. We are given his story in detail from growing up in the hood to him finding where he fits in; in the scheme of things. Youngblood hangs around old heads or OGs trying to pick up their tales of the street when they used to slang and never got caught up. Youngblood is a strong-minded individual like many of the young men of today; however, he gets caught up in trying to come up and becomes a stick-up kid.
Plotting against rival bangers and drug dealers Youngblood is trying to make his name ring bells in the street. Hooking up with different women and flossing his wealth will only lead him in two places--dead or in jail. After doing an extensive bid, Youngblood fathers multiple children, gets shot numerous times, and becomes a well-known killer. Will Youngblood turn his life around before it is too late, or have the streets already claimed his soul?
The beginning of this story was very typical of all urban fiction books, but it had a twinge of something different and held me captive, anticipating what would happen next. When I got to the end of the book, I was saddened and a little confused. With the help of additional editing, this story could have flowed much smoother. I recommend this book to readers of urban lit.

TRUST NO MAN is a compelling, suspenseful, and thrilling read about stick-up kid, Terrence aka "Youngblood" who knows no other life but a life of murder, sex, and drugs. The streets are his gameboard and he plays it to win, with street principles and rules that only a true hustler would understand.
The story begins with Youngblood serving time for robbery. While in prison, he leaves behind his baby mama, Shan, who promises to wait for him to return home from prison, and a young child. His partners, Lonnie and Shotgun Pete, even pledge to hold down the fort for Youngblood until his return. He soon finds out he can find no trust and loyalty in those who he thought to be his closest allies. After he spends a nickel in the state penitentiary, he has to prove to the streets once again prison hadn't changed him. It takes him quite a while to find work again. Rich Kid, the neighborhood kingpin, wants Youngblood to join his crew. He accepts jobs from Rich Kid that includes murder and robbery, the same crimes that landed him in prison the first time around. He takes on his new street status, something along the lines of a "hitman", while also trying to be the best father that he knows how to be to his kids. When the murder and mayhem comes too close to home and involves men that Youngblood had once crossed paths with, he begins to re-evaluate his priorities.
From stickup kid to serving time in the pen to hustling to gaining respect in the streets, Cash takes us into Youngblood's world. The words are so authentic, descriptive, and delivered with such keen attention to detail that it felt as if I were seeing the story as it was told through Youngblood's eyes. Cash does an excellent job of character development in the novel. Though we know very little about Youngblood's past or childhood and why he came to choose a life making his money in the streets, I, as the reader, could not help but want to sympathize with him. There were some grammar mistakes and tense changes, but I was so captivated by the story that I hardly even noticed. From the very first page, I didn't want to put the book down. The ending is a cliffhanger and sets the stage for a most anticipated sequel. I was pleased when I found the sequel is already available, Trust No Man II.

Terrance `aka' Youngblood is a stickup kid from around the way. He holds true to the code of the streets...he is loyal to the game. When Youngblood does a brief stint in jail, his baby mama gets with his boy and winds up having a baby with him.
Rich Kid a major drug dealer tries to entice Youngblood to get on with him and his crew to sell drugs instead of robbing people. Youngblood decides to instead become a contract killer. In turn, making everything spiral out of control.
TRUST NO MAN by Cash was an okay read. Unfortunately once again in reminded me of countless other books I have read before. This was a typical street-lit tale that involved: drugs, sex, money, death and prison. If you are just starting out reading street-lit than you are sure to love this. If you are an avid reader of street-lit such as myself you may notice that the story-line is one that we continue to read about from countless other authors.

I was a Wahida Clark fan before reading this book with the first few Thug Books even though after the second book they seemed to kind of jump the shark. I decided to read this book and it was good. It started off sort of slow at first but picked up quickly and kept my attention to the finish.
His first GF was a hot ratched mess, why do guys mess with girls like that? Even though he seemed to make bad women choices he did seem to have common sense with his hustles.
I wont ruin the book for others who have not read it yet but it was well worth the time and money and I def will be buying Part 2 tonight.

Sometimes the dirt you do in the streets comes back to haunt you in the worse way. The streets can welcome you and desert you in the same breath. Terrance (a.k.a. Youngblood) knew only one thing...the streets. Youngblood was a stick-up kid who lived by the code of the streets: Loyalty and Respect. But circumstances change Youngblood's mindset when he's put in situations involving matters of the heart. Baby mama drama is no stranger to Youngblood, and the women he chooses to deal with could cost him his chances of stacking his paper. After a stint in prison, Youngblood needs to rebuild his empire, but will the choices he makes cost him his chance of being on top?
Shan is Youngblood's baby mother, and the rules of the street is that Shan is suppose to hold her man down no matter what the situation is and stay away from her man's friends. When Youngblood is sentenced to a short stint in prison, Shan does the exact opposite. Her legs stay open like a 24 hour store, and the ultimate betrayal comes when she sleeps with her man's partner and friend and is now carrying his child. A chain reaction causes Shan to reevaluate the choices she makes. Will Shan straighten up and be a mother to her child, or will she reap what she sows and suffer the consequences?
Lonnie was Youngblood's partner and mentor. Lonnie bought Youngblood in the game and schooled him as a big brother. When Youngblood was sixteen years old, Lonnie put him on, and their bond was thicker than thieves. Loyalty was the code they lived by. Lonnie and Youngblood looked out for each other, did dirt together and through it all, their relationship remain true. When Youngblood is released from prison, Lonnie introduces him back into the only life he is accustomed to and what is guaranteed to bring in money fast. But when Youngblood accepts side deals from others outside of their circle, could those choices cause there relationship to be tested?
Trust No Man was a book I definitely couldn't put down. The struggles this young man endured related to the many challenges we all face in life. Do you choose the straight and narrow life, or do you chose the life that can get you enemies, jail time, and or even killed? Youngblood was no nonsense, but through it all he wanted to be involved in his children's life. I think that Cash is right on point with the portrayal of the struggles that a lot of young African-American women and men go through. The choices you make and the enemies you create by doing dirt can cause you a lot heartache and pain in your life. The characters were ones that everyone could relate to, either on a personal level or just from different situations and struggles we have all encountered one time or another. I cannot wait to read Trust No Man Part 2.

Typical and predictable gang banger type story. Young Blood was trying to come up but got got caught up. The OG's was trying to spit knowledge on how they did it in back in the day to survive the streets but like a lot of these young cats today, they think they know it all. These young cats only see money thinking that once they got a few bills in they pockets and a nice whip that they made it. Understand what real power is if you want to play a grown man's game.
Story held me down proper but I was looking for something really gangsta and original

Youngblood survives his brutal beat down. His mind is set on healing and regaining his energy so that he can seek revenge on his enemies in addition to trying to locate one of his crazy baby's mommas. Along his journey, choices are made and bodies are laid, but his rules never change....Cash leaves you with an unanticipated "say it aint so" ending.
Add this and part 1 to your collection...

Just finished reading Trust No Man 2. Big ups to Cash and Wahida Clark for presenting. Trust No Man2 was a powerful story about being true to one's belief even if others don't agree with it. Cash kept it real from beginning to end leaving the reader wondering if they could keep it real like Youngblood, Inez, Keisha and Jaunita. This is a novel to add to your collection if you like to read

I really felt for the characters in this one...in fact, I almost cried at the end. I had a silent moment where I then had to re-look at the introduction to make sure this was fiction, and when I saw that it was, I breathed a sigh of relief. Good work, Cash!

Trust No Man is an amazing story, start to finish. Though it might not be everyone's cup of tea due to the graphic violence and intense scenography, it will grow on everyone. Youngblood is an amazing character, as he isn't a cassanova, or anything cliche. He's the gritty human version of the streets. I suggest this book to anyone who's looking to keep on the edge of their seats as they would in an action-filled movie!

This book was really about a thug true and true. He had a bunch of kids, and did not think enough of any women to marry them. He was a jack boy and a murderer. He exploited women anyway that he could. This book is unneccearily long and it is not recommend!ed!

Arrrgh---ghetto literature. This is just awful. Who reads these books? Bypass this garbage and reach for something that inspires rather than glorifies a lifestyle that leads to nowhere. No wonder our young people are in trouble.

His mind is on his money and his money is on his mind, women are just a means to a sexual end. While is slow to strike out with physical abuse at his girls, the disrespect and lack of esteem he holds for them are almost tangible. But it wasn’t always this way. His heart was broken by his first love when she hooked up with his partner and from that point he decided he would never trust a woman again. Yet, the females kept coming.
When a major player catches a bid, his woman approached Youngblood to hold her down. The two form an unusual connection. He lives with her, protects her so she is free to run her own street hustles, and sexes her, yet doesn’t claim her as his own, even as he has multiple partners elsewhere.
It’s only so long you can do people wrong before it comes back around, as he learned the hard way after his life was almost taken twice. But Youngblood was a solid guy who was determined he wasn’t ready to die. When his lucky break came, it seemed that the tides had turned on his behalf and finally his proverbial ship had sailed in....
Youngblood’s disrespect towards women had me shaking my head and wanting to throttle him, especially knowing there are many guys in the world just like him…and worse, many women who stand by and tolerate mistreatment. The love he had for his children, his sister and a few other individuals put us in touch with his human side. He was a character that was easy to dislike until his human moments would come to the light. It is a very talented author who pulls on the emotions of his readers so much so that after the story ends, it remains on the mind of its reader. Such was the case with TNM. There were so many layers and lessons to process. Cash isn’t just a person who puts words on paper, he masterfully infuses the real deal of urban street life with life lessons. It was a great book.
