I was impressed how the author explained the policies and interactions to the society which are not complicated for beginners to understand. There so much still to learn from this book.I'm still at early chapters of the book and I truly enjoy what I'm learning so far. The author keeps me engage and focus on most topics which he emphasizes through series of examples in the chapter. I'm looking forward to the author other books such as Micro and Macro economics. Great readings.

Because it's well written, interesting and allows you to learn the material without being bored to death. There's always funny examples in the text and some thought provoking sidebars. All in all, if your class requires this book, don't be afraid of the class!

This book was essential to my economics class. It always depends on your instructor, but the class can be difficult. The graphs inside each chapter explain the process of why points are placed where they are and the practice in the back of each chapter will prepare you for every test. If you can go through each graph and explain to someone what is going on in the graph then you have a good grasp of what is going on in the class and will more than likely do well.

Exactly the same book needed for a high school Econ class; school bookstore had a price tag of over $275! Saved over $100; however, it did not include the CD or the internet access code, which the class is not using!

Book arrived in brand new condition with very minor shelf-wear as stated. Book was priced at a fraction of the amount offered by other retailers. Book arrived much sooner than promised. Very pleased.

I understand the need for a text that presents information at a high enough level to cover a lot of ground in one semester but this is not a graduate-level text (unfortunately in my case it was assigned for an MBA Economics for Managers class). The information itself is fairly clear but it is off-putting to read self quiz questions that start "Ask your parents about..."

Coming from an engineering background and with good knowledge of economics, I was hoping to find a more analytical and technically oriented textbook in Mankiw's Principles of Economics - more mathematical analyses and interesting conclusions deriving from solid theories. Instead, I find it oversimplifies highly complex issues and disregards some aspects of economics which are utterly important in a full economic evaluation. From my past experience as an engineering student and dozens of technical textbooks, this text "dumbs" down the student and leads one to "memorizing" methods in order to "understand" economic concepts. No space is left for interesting analysis involving more complex mathematical manipulations or the reader reaching new and different conclusions when compared to those exhibited in the text.As another reviewer has pointed out, not only does this seem written for high schoolers, but the complete lack of discussion concerning alternative economic theories makes this piece stand out as a free-market propaganda piece, where no government interference or interaction is the best course of "inaction" in free-market economies. Overall, it does introduce some interesting concepts in innovative ways but for someone who wants to deal with the finer aspects of and more mathematical approaches to economics I would not recommend this book.

I made this purchase and saved myself over $200 compared to buying the book new. I found out later that the book has been replaced with a new edition. The book came in the exact conditon it was described and the shipping dates were dead on. I was very pleased with the entire experience.
