Throughout this series, I've had the feeling I've been reading a series written by a high school girl. Sorry, it just has a very immature feel to it. Also, you might want to tell Nicole to brush up on her command of tense, since she consistently fails to correct it in these novels, confusing present and past tense. Finally, a bit of anatomy... You don't find yourself needing to "pee" because of full bowels, but because of a full bladder. And consuming 5 cups of tea does not fill ones' bowels.

This was the fourth in the Benjamin Ashwood series. It is one of the best fantasy adventure series I’ve read of this genre. I found myself making time to read rather than waiting for my normal reading sessions. The characters were like-able, well actually lovable-each unique. The author definitely had a life viewpoint he was trying to share, but did so in a nonjudgmental way. He examined human nature and it’s various consequences. His leading characters were all flawed in some way but trying to live good and noble lives, giving much more than they took. I will miss them. The story is fast paced. The fight scenes extremely well developed. The pictures painted in my mind from the narrative were minutely detailed. I rushed to the end of each book, knowing all along that I would hate getting to the end.

This series is fairly good so far but my interest is starting to wear out. This is clearly a YA series and the main character is likeable but not particularly interesting. The side characters are well written though a bit clicheish. The romances are kinda meh and the combat has started to get a bit too repetative.
It's just gotten too cyclical to be honest, big battle, party seperates, MC finds uber teacher, party recollects, a few demon fighrs with minor injuries that will heal before next fight, end of book battle. Minor details change but this process has happened enough for me to get worn out.

I cannot say enough really nice things about the characters in this series. I've found them to be interesting and different from each other. I especially like Rhys, i.e., his humor, loyalty and special character nuances. I can tell you this girl will be especially peeved and sad if something happens to him! I think this author has done a really good job of giving us depth and little bread crumbs of history for these characters which keeps them interesting and I really appreciate that. I truly like the storyline and its twists and turns. I'm excited for book 5.

The story and world are well crafted, however the author relies on convenience and happenstance too often for my tastes.
The final fight of the book also feels anti climactic. He plays up the power and danger of the mage and then they defeat her with the most simple of efforts. There is an attempt at making it seem epic but the description just feels out of place for what's actually happening in the moment.
All in all the book is worth a read, the characters are likeable and you want to find out what happens to them, but there is definitely a lack of something to make it a great book.

A great continuation of the series. The characters are diverse and very likable or unlikable according to their roles. There are multiple villains and various strategies utilized by the group of heroes to overcome said villains. It is also notable that it is a collective effort by the group and various collaborators in overcoming obstacles rather than relying on one main character to save the day. Very enjoyable read

Burned through the first four books very quickly. AC Cobble keeps the tension and action going through all four. terrific characters ain a well realized world with plenty of intrigue. demons, politics, secret cabals of mages, and foreign lands. near the top of the list for fantasy series available with kindle unlimited. I also like Philip C. Quantrell, Will Wight, and especially Jonathan Renshaw's debut book Dawn of Wonder. Keep them coming please!

If you liked Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive you will enjoy this book too. The previous 3 books in the series were excellent. I am a little disappointed that I discovered A. C. Cobble right before the 4th book was published. I only had to wait a few days for the fourth book to come out. The disappointment comes now because I have to wait a while until the next book is released.

This is a good book, some parts were predictable. I'm not one for spoilers but as you read you know when something is going to happen and the ending is clear as can be from a long way off. There are a few part that were original and a little of a surprise. I did enjoy it, a good quick one day read.

Outstanding sequel! The natural growth of each character is a breath of fresh air. Realistic timelines, unexpected twists, and a great plot. Looking forward to the next book. I would ask to please lessen the adult material. The continuing love story developing between the two main characters doesn’t need the detailed adult scenes. That is the only reason I gave 4 of 5 stars.

This being book 4 I would imagine that anyone reading this review is more interested in the series as a whole than this particular book. Here is my advice, read this series. However, pace yourself, I read the series in a little over a week. I now have to wait a month to read book 5. It won’t be easy, but take it from me, pace yourself.

I usually only start series when I know they’re done being written... I try to save myself from the agony of waiting for the next book. I started the Benjamin Ashwood series thinking that the series ended with the four books already released. They are great books & by the time I was half way through the fourth I was sad that it would be over soon... I ended up being surprised that the series is still going & my enjoyment of these books makes the wait for the next installment worthwhile! Excellent read.... only the 2nd series I’ve given 5 stars to... thank you to the author... & please don’t take too long writing the next book!

The story continues to build well in this installment. I gave it four stars due to the presence of more errors than in previous books in the series. This one needs another editing review to catch the remaining minor errors, though they were not significant enough to ruin the story.

AC Cobble continues to deliver a fun, light hearted, and feel-good story.
Characters continue to progress unlike so many these days.
Plot is constantly moving.
Can honestly say I never know what to expect next.
Overall I give it a 5 of 5 since I am eagerly awaiting the next book as soon as I finished.

I enjoyed the series until this book. Ben and Amele (mostly Ben) asked a million unnecessary questions and completely took away from the story. It’s as if the writer didn’t know where the story was going and filled the pages with too much unneeded detail instead of a story

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. If fact I read it straight through from book 1-4. The author uses real life beliefs that are are moral and political to support the characters while they fight evil to help save their world. Magic and mages, assassins and heroes, the main characters are challenged constantly to achieve their goals. It's a great adventure and keeps you wondering what's next! Thank you A. C. Cobble.

Empty Horizon continues the story of Ben and his friends, while answering some questions and fleshing out the lore of their world even further. Cobble proves that he's not afraid to make controversial decisions by letting key characters go, and it works. Overall a fantastically fun read and I could hardly put it down. Now it's time to wait impatiently for the next one.

Great book, didn’t notice any typos and there were, they were so small that I didn’t notice them. I just love this series but the problem I have is that it just isn’t long enough. Or maybe I just read too fast, don’t know. Seriously, awesome series. Can’t wait for more.

The story keeps getting better. The writer is both Craftsman and crafty with wordplay.
I especially liked the politically framed elephant and donkey comparison to a two face coin reference that slid into the story like an aside of old from ancient times in Shakespear's globe theater.
Intriguing, captivating, and satisfying.... Bring the next one, please.

AC Cobble weaves a wonderful tail. It's a wonderful tale about friendship and trying to do your best in a messed up world. About rising above the adversity and pushing past self doubt. I can't wait for the next book.

Ben continues to show his leadership skills and his determination to stop the evil that is everywhere they go. He and his friends are determined to find a way to stop the demons. It's a task that they are ready to take on, no matter the consequences. Being willing to fight is a small part of the task at hand.

Bravo! Your Benjamin Ashwood series is fast paced, exhilerating and one of the best stories I've read in many years. AC Cobb paints each character and scene so vivid it feels like you are there. Looking forward to the next chapter in this series.

The Benjamin Ashwood series has been very good overall and this one eclipses the predecessors. In terms of timeline, story, and advancement this is a great read. It doesn't ever feel like there is too much happening, the story is clearly outlined and has great flow. At times books 1&2 felt like the characters were hurrying around trying to accomplish as many feats as could fit. This felt more natural. Overall great series and as stated, this was the best so far.

Another surprisingly good book. Can't wait for the next. I really enjoy the way the author follows just the main character and doesn't jump around. I'm no good at writing reviews, but you won't be disappointed if you enjoy fantasy.

So far all of the Benjamin Ashwood books have been a great way to end the day. I am very busy normally but look forward to getting everything done during the day so I can lay down and escape from reality for a while. The Benjamin Ashwood books are the perfect tool for that escape. Empty Horizon has kept the story progressing nicely and had plenty of action. Ready for book 5.

The saga continues as life goes on. Honestly the best book to date of the series. Easily read, but far from childish. This book flows seemlessly from scene to scene. Cudo for a well written book. Rhys has stolen my heart, Towall proves appearances are deceiving, Amelia shows the world that even nobility can be noble, and Ben is the noble at heart.

I cannot put these books down. What an absolute pure talent this author posseses. The story line flows flawlessly with great balance in tragedy and victory. Fight scenes are riveting edge of your seat entertainment. Great books!

Really enjoying the series. Good timing for availability. If there is too much time between books I lose interest.
I like the limited characters. Each has a place and time.
Good story. Moves at a good pace.
