Anna Zaires is the queen of obsessive hero's! Peter is officially my favorite dark obsessive hero, out of all her books. He is consumed with wanting Sara and he will do anything to have her. I loved it! Anna Zaires is such a wonderful writer, that I never hesitate to purchase her books.

Obsession Mine is the second in the series by Anna Zaires. Obsession Mine starts where Tormentor Mine left us. Peter has kidnapped Sara as the government is closing in on him and his team. Sara is constantly trying to understand her feelings for Peter. She knows he is ruthless and can be cruel but she also sees something in him that she doesn’t understand. She is a doctor so she tries to be intellectual when trying to understand her reasoning about Peter and her frustration about her career. At times, this causes the reader to want to reach in and shake her to say make up your mind. You can’t go back to the way things were BP (before Peter).
During this time Peter has fallen in more in love with her but he also knows that she is torn with what her heart says versus what her head says. Wonder how they will resolve this issue. Will they get a HEDA (happily ever dark after)? Can’t wait to see how Anna resolves this one.

This book is problematic. Like Zaires' Twist Me Trilogy, the central male character Peter is a carbon copy of Julian Esguerra. Basically a sociopath with a penchant for torture and geopolitical assassination who's incredibly good-looking and well endowed. Okay. Fine. What's appalling is that Zaires robs both women (Nora and Sara) in these series of any agency. Basically they end being rendered spineless because they're getting sexed up so good by strong Alpha males who act like cave men. They offer little to no resistance against the men who do despicable things to them. The sex isn't even written that well. It's general and predictable. Twist Me was a stretch with the kidnapping and rape of an eighteen year old girl, but that blue print on the character of a twenty-eight year old woman is even more implausible. Ultimately, what resounds is that the relationships in all of these books are never fully drawn. The characters are more tropes than they are multi-dimensional. I agree with other reviewers that the storyline is repetitive and doesn't pace well. The ending is protracted.

This just couldn't capture my interest like the first book. There's a lot of back and forth and it gets really repetitive. From this book's standpoint, it's hard to see how this will end welll. But ...

... this author always pulls out a win in the end! So just know going in that this is mostly just a bridge to the next book (and probably a way to make a little more money).

However, if I'm reading into it correctly the final book will be pretty dang awesome. Cannot wait!!

I actually surprised myself by reading and enjoying the first book in this series, "TORMENTOR MINE." I dislike BDSM, rough sex, women in jeopardy, and similar demeaning themes in books I read. I was hoping that the next book in the series, "OBSESSION MINE," would be as good as the first book. Alas, it isn't. I won't be rereading this one. I did like meeting Peter's team, but the chapters were so repetitive. Sara was stronger in the first book. I don't like the direction that her life is heading towards. Instead of helping Peter find the good in himself, she's diving head first into the dark side. Will I buy and read the next book in the series? That will depend on its reviews.

Received as an ARC for an honest review...

There are a few authors I get excited to read and Anna Zaires is one of them. I remember jumping up and down with excitement to read this book.

This is the second book in the Tormentor Mine series and continues Peter and Sara's story. Peter has an obsession over Sara and must have her regardless. Sara is in denial of her need to be with Peter and fights it the entire time. She wants to go back to her former life and believes that if Peter truly loves her he will let her go. Sara wants to be with Peter only in the context of a "normal" relationship and Peter knows he will not be able to give her what she wants but he can't let her go. He is obsessed with her and believes she is in denial of her true feelings for him.

This book does a great job of setting up the underlying obsession and need that Peter has for Sara and Sara's need to fight what she believes she wants and what she needs. Now I must wait for the next book in the series to come out to find out what happens next.

I absolutely loved the first book. This book barely kept my attention. It was drawn out and kind of a bore. It wasn't horrible but I was expecting so much better. It was ok but not worth the wait. I will read the next book to get closure and because I really love this author. Her other books are great. I love her writing style. This book just didn't work for me.
